The fan audio drama, based on the story by Ron Marz that appeared in the Dark Horse comic Star Wars Tales #9, has been released and is now available for download.

The story summary takes place just before the events in A New Hope. Darth Vader is tricked into a trial by a group of Acolytes to the dark side of the force. The Acolytes, displeased with the Emperors decision to make Vader his apprentice, resurrect a "proper" apprentice to battle Vader to the death.

You can download it at: http://www.starwarz.com/timeline/ant...urrection.html

This was pretty good. I enjoyed it. Some very interesting dialogue. They did a good job. Very original plot too. Couldn't help but wonder what it would look like though, being the FanFilm guy that I am, but that is what an imagination is for right? Anyway. I give it a 2 thumbs up. The Force is like duct tape, it has a light and a dark side, and it binds the universe together.

Sorry I didn't get this one up earlier. Thanks for the assist.

As for Resurrection, it's being hosted on the Anthology site for now, but when "Project Sonja" launches, it'll have its own page on that new website, outside of Anthology.

Perhaps one day we'll be able to convince someone to create a flash animation using the comic to go along with this one...

Ya know - that actually IS an interesting concept...and something I might like to see happen --- especially for the new site, Nathan.

Taking the fan audio stuff and actually creating animation (most likely flash or whatever) for it. I mean, that's how they do the big time animated films - dialogue first, then they animate to it. Pretty cool. I wonder who would give it a shot with one of yours?

Well, Resurrection would be the logical first choice, since it already exists as a comic, and it's a word-for-word adaptation.

At one point, we talked about doing Second Strike as animation, but the sheer size of such a task would be prohibitive for a lot of fan production makers.

If someone wanted to do flash animation for a project, though, I wouldn't mind being tapped to write a short script to try it out...

Anyone have any thoughts on this one? Seems to have fallen by the wayside since it was first put up well before Fanworks itself opened as its own site.

I've heard the fan audio for Resurrection, and I think its pretty good. Its an interesting premise to clone a fallen Dark Lord and have him battle a current Dark Lord. And I think this team pulled it off in a very nice manner.
Its all of fifteen minutes long, and covers the time of Vader looking for the stolen plans for the Death Star. He's sent on a goose chase to a planet where some Dark Side "Adherents" have cloned Darth Maul. They kill off Vader's escorting Stormtroopers and shuttle crew, and have Maul confront Vader. Vader, of course, wins. He gets back to Palpatine and Palps acts ignorant of the whole situation.

I'm curious...how does this drama play with the rest of you?

I've merged the new thread with the official one.

(In the future, please make sure there's not already an official Fanworks thread for an audio drama before starting a new one. Thanks.)

It's currently my favorite drama and I always enjoy listening to it.
"Once lost but I was found, when I heard that stained glass shatter all around me. I sent the spirits tumbling down the hill, but I will hold this one on high above me still. She whispers words to clear my mind, I once could see but now at last I'm blind."
