Poking around Amazon earlier today, I found a preorder for "Untitled Leia Novel: Star Wars by Martha Miller." Hardcover, scheduled for 5 November 2013 release. Once again, I was caught flatfooted.
Anyone know anything about this one?

Only thing I could find was this. It seems there is an Obi Wan book coming first then the Leia book.

Thanks, Javen. Independent confirmation!
Now if we just knew what the heck they were about. The Tosche-Station article mentioned a "Rebels" series. I've never heard of that. But then in another thread--I think it's the one I started for Crucible the Pepgal mentioned the "next series," as yet unnamed. Maybe Rebels is it?
No Tesla, Rebels is a three book series set during the OT time period. Each of the books will concentrate on one member of the big three with Leia's book first. The unnamed series I discussed in Crucible thread will be set after Fate of the Jedi series and after Crucible.
I follow Del Rey's facebook page and they announce most of the news about their novels there first.
Remember, the Force is with you always.
The novel was announced some time ago. Heck, just yesterday Del Ray announced that it's going to be released one week earlier, on October 29: Del Ray's Star Wars books Facebook page
Okay, Facebook. That explains it. I avoid Facebook like the plague.
The link I provided specified the dates. August for Obi Wan and Lei for October 29th, I think.
Both dates are indeed in the Tosche Station article, Kenobi coming along on 27 August. And Amazon has the dates wrong, as usual.
Well I rely on these forums and that is about it. So unless it has appeared here I have no idea of what is coming.
Aha, I knew I wasn't the only one! I do to, and I look at the Official Site fairly regularly, and I do a lot of Windows* shopping at Amazon, which is how I found the books in my recent spate of publishing posts. But the Official Site isn't much for book announcements, and Amazon tends to lag a bit, so the Senate is a major component of my Star Wars Publishing news gathering apparatus.
*Strictly speaking, it's OS X shopping, but there's no pun in "OS X shopping," and therefore no fun in posting it. Might as well say, "I brows there a lot."
Here is the blurb for the book:
Nebula Award finalist Martha Wells makes her Star Wars debut with a brand-new classic Star Wars: Rebels adventure starring Princess Leia and her new friends, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, in the time just after the destruction of the Death Star in Star Wars: Episode VI A New Hope!
Princess Leia Organa is on a mission for the Rebel Alliance when Imperial forces attack. Now she, Han, and Luke are on their own, working with pirates and dealing with traitors as they race the clock to protect the secrecy of a crucial meeting of Rebel conspirators!
Remember, the Force is with you always.
They really should hire a new blurb writer at Del Rey. ASAP.
But the story is...
They're security detail for some rebel conspiracy meeting?
Where are they going to get any mileage out of that? Better: How are they going to get any mileage out of that and where is it going to get them?
Unless Mon Mothma gets killed and has to be replaced with a double, I can't imagine it having any tension or suspense, and so no real entertainment value. Short of that, how do they get around the fact that we know the Rebellion survives? How do they create a sense of menace, or at least risk, in any credible fashion? I mean, so what if the Empire catches the "Rebel conspirators" eating rubber chicken and plotting how they'll carve up the empire after the victory, if all the important conspirators--i.e., the ones we've heard of and seen in the films--escape, which, since they're around later, they have to?
