Auditions sent.
Just to update, the following roles have been cast:
Narrator
Lord Venaar
Gliderwing
Sten Ni Vanden
Aeron Rhade
Master
Those chosen for the roles have been notified via e-mail. I'd like to thank everyone who sent in auditions so far, and if yours wasn't selected, don't lose hope, there are a number of new roles coming in Episode Two of Outcasts.
Also, you may note that most of the still available roles are female. I have a line on that rarest of blessings, a voice actRESS for Kara Tao Vanden but if anyone knows someone who would be interested, please invite them to submit an audition. We could use all the help we can get.
The list of unfilled roles:
Sith Officer: Incidental role. Has a whopping three lines and could be either gender, late 20's to early 30's).
Audition line: "Sir, you wanted to know when we were in position."
Captain Hyridan: A minor character who recurrs through all eight chapters. I see him as having a gruff, non-nonsense way of speaking. (Male, in his fifties)
Audition line: "Harumpf. It's not my place to disagree with His Lordship, only to follow where he leads."
Bodyguard: Incidental role with a whooping one line in chapter 1. May have more in chapter six. Think "Stormtrooper from hell". (Male, 20s-30s)
Audition line: "Yes Sir, Lord Venaar is awaiting you, sir"
Mairi Ni Vanden: Kara's mother. Aunt Beru....yeah, you know the drill. (Female, 40s)
Audition line: "(Laugh) And what if she does? She enjoys their company. Besides, they all consider her one of them, They won't let her come to harm."
Kara Tao Vanden: Our version of Luke Skywalker. Kara is the main character. This character will need to demonstrate a wide array of emotions, lots of crying and angsting in the first few chapters, followed by a great deal of anger later on. (Female, 20's)
Audition lines (Both please): (Softly) "Mother, Father. I'm sorry that this is the best comfort I can give you, to burry you together on the little rise where we used to watch the sunset. I don't know what else to do. I don't know what comes next. I'm so lost without you..."
(Angry) "You! You made me leave them! If not for you then maybe they'd be alive! At least I'd be with them in death! How dare you!"
Selene Au Vanden: Kara's grandmother and the most cryptic character in the story. She's actually dead and we just get to hear her holocron *sniff* I'm toying with having Selene do the narrator lines as well. (Female, elderly)
Audition line: "...I served under Revan in the Mandalorian Wars as a young Jedi. I was witness to Revan's fall, and followed her into the ways of darkness, but that tale is for another time. "
I will be shootin' out an audition soon. Hopefully I won't be too late...

I'd like to thank everyone who has or is going to send in auditions. The sheer ammount of talent I've heard these past weeks has been truly staggering. I'm going to make the final casting choices (hopefully!) by this coming Sunday.
I just wanted to put the word out that we're suddenly getting a swarm of Kara auditions, which is awesome since I was smacking my head into the wall for coming up with a script with so many female-specific roles. Especially since it's almost an axiom that a good voice actress is worth her weight in...gold? Nah, that's too common.
The one character we could use some more auditions for is Mairi, Kara's mother. I'm not saying what we've gotten for her isn't good. It's just that if someone out there wants in, this is where our potential cast pool is thinest.
Once again thanks to everyone for their continued interest.
Audition lines for Kara and Mairi sent from Silas Carder (through my e-mail account)...
Casting for Episode One of Outcasts is complete. I'd like to thank everyone who submitted an audition file. Once again, the breadth of talent on this board is astounding.
The cast has been notified via email. If you weren't selected for this go-around we have some more parts coming up in Episode Two.
Now it's officially on me to get the script out to everyone and hoefully in the not too distant future we can share our premeire episode with you all.
Thanks again. You guys rock.
Gah! My webhost has melted down. This will delay things a bit but not too badly. The cast has been notified of the emergency measures and a new host is the works. The webpage will probably be up again Friday.
Episode One is well under way production wise. SO far we are on target for a mid-to-late May release. Gosh willing.
This has been you official Outcasts update. ^_~
