Omega Squad: Targets - Audio Drama Released

I'm announcing tonight that after aver five year of procucing SWD I've decided to branch out and produce an Audio Drama. I always been interested in them, but more so recently. I'm officially a newbie when it comes to drama so I'm gonna do my best to do a decent job. I've decided to begin with something that I didn't write (easier, maybe not?) so I've chosen to adapt a short story written by Karen Traviss called Omega Squad : Targets which is available in the SW insider 81 and in Republic Commando : Triple Zero. I will be taking on all the producing aspects of the adaptation so I can mesure what I'm good at... or not. I'm doing this drama to get more experience in audio storytelling/mixing, and hopefully it will also be a fun experience.

The script adaptation has been completed and all the major parts will be played by fan audio award winner Shawn Crosby who will be portraying the clones (Omega Squad & Captain Ordo) and Kal Skirata. All other available parts are listed below with the number of lines associated with the character. Most of the secondary parts have very few lines so if you can do multiple voices, you can apply to more than one.

I don't have an official deadline, but it will probably be release before the end of 2006.

CASTING CALL :

Procedure: Send and e-mail to dany.pepin@gmail.com with the title "Casting Call - character's name". Give your name (and GS nickname if you have one) and include in attachment an mp3 file of the corresponding audition line. Those who have previous wor, SW or not, include this informations in your e-mail and a link to an existing sample. Thanks.

NARRATOR : over 20
Audition line: The Clone War still rages and a month after their first operation as a unit to sabotage a Qiiluran research facility designing a clone-killing nano-virus, Omega Squad are stationed at Arca company barracks on Coruscant, where they are called upon to defuse a terrorist seige at a local spaceport.

COMMANDER OBRIM : 25 (approx)
Audion line: Six passengers, and we’re trying to get pictures of them. Witnesses report four perpetrators armed with blasters and carrying something in backpacks, which we have assumed are explosives. No ID on them yet, but they were all on the same flight.
Profile: Leader of the counter-terrorism unit of Coruscant. Imagine Jack Bauer's boss Bill Buchanan.

JEDI MASTER KAIM : 7
Audition line: I’m going to ask them to let me talk. When I have their attention, I will help them decide to release the hostages and to talk to me, which will not be easy with Koruunai. Here take my lighsaber Captain. I have to show goodwill and enter unarmed.
Profile: Twilek Jedi. Calm Attitude.

LIEUTENANT DOVEL : 6
Audition line: What do you mean by "go in" exactly? I’m Lieutenant Dovel, incident Commander, I say how and when anyone goes in. We’ve got a Jedi coming down to negociate with the leader.
Profile: Sure of himself but a bit frustrated that his operation is being taken over.

MAR RUGEYAN : 6 lines
Audition line: Commander, those thugs held innocent people and murdered a Jedi Master whose sole concern wad the welfare of the hostages. The Senate does not tolerate terrorism.
Profile: Senate Head of public affairs. He is a politician so he talks like one.

HOLONET ANNOUNCER : 5
Audition line: Senator Meena Tills is believed to be among six hostages seized by an armed gang at galactic City Spaceport. Police have sealed of the area and all city traffic and interplanetary flights are being diverted. Expect long delays. More later.
Profile: Female anchor. Good clear voice, good pronounciation.

N’ZAET NIR : 3
Audition line : No, they would not. We hope to stay out of your disputes with the Separatists. Can I have my suit back now? And who’s paying for the damage? Ah forget it! I’ll get it myself.
Profile: One of the hostages. Member of Corsec's Direx board. Impatient, pretencious executive.

NURIIN-AR GRAY TERRORIST : 5
Audition line: Six lives are a price worth paying, Jedi. We will detonate the charges.
Profile: Generic Terrorist leader that we see on TV and Movie.

TAN TERRORIST : 6
Audition line: Shut up! Shut up, or you die now! (shouting at hostages)

GREEN TERRORIST : 4
Audition line : You can keep them company. You’re to altruistic for a delivery boy. We better search you.
Audition line 2: No! (screaming... about to be shot)

CSF PILOT : 3 lines
Audition line : Get your head back in! What are you a tourist or something?

FEMALE REPORTER : 1
Audition line: Hey! You shoy my cam! You shot it!

AUTOMATED FEMALE VOICE : 1
Audition lines: Welcome to Galactic City Spaceport… All flights are currently delayed.
Profile: Gentle voice.

SENATOR TILL :1
Audition line: With Master Kaim around, this situation shoud be over soon Vun.
Profile: Mon Calamari. Same type of voice as Ackbar.

OLD WOMAN : 2
Audition line: Nooooo! Please, No! Ahhhhhhh! (scared, paniking)
Profile: 70 years/old

CSF OFFICER : 2
audition line: Euh… I’ll see what I can do.

CSF EXPLOSIVE OFFICER: 1
Audition line: All clear. And I mean "really" clear. These pack are just full of used comlink parts. Nasty bluff.
