Jeff Vitkuske's audio drama short "Memoirs of a Jedi" is now on Fanworks. Discuss it here!

Man, this was absolutely amazing, I don't really know where to start.

The music and sound effects were outstanding, and one of the only audio dramas where I really felt I was watching something instead of just listening.

The thunder-type sounds in the background when you first mention a "Sith" being in the temple worked very well, as did just about everything during the actual fight with Anakin.

Ending was quite poignant and powerful, all around one of the best I've ever heard--well done!

I liked it. The sound effects were just right, to paint the picture of what was happening. And, as heels said, I almost felt like I was watching the story unfold.

Very, very good. I hope to hear more.

Okay, so it was a little late at night when I wrote my last note, and I'm not always the best at expressing my feelings in the first place. (Just ask my wife.) So I thought I'd try to better explain what I was trying to say.

I thought the effects were good. And the fact that they sounded like they were in the background just added to the overall effect that we were inside this Jedi's head. I thought that was a pretty cool technique. It gave the whole play more of "you are there" feel to it.

And the music was perfect to convey the mood, too.

The only quibble I had was about semantics. "Memoirs?" When I think of memoirs, I think of autobiographies, life experiences and lessons. This was one fairly brief incident.

(Sidebar: I just checked dictionary.com. These are their definitions:

An account of the personal experiences of an author.
An autobiography. Often used in the plural.
    A biography or biographical sketch.
A report, especially on a scientific or scholarly topic.
(memoirs) The report of the proceedings of a learned society.)

Perhaps the singular Memoir of a Jedi would have been more appropriate?

As I said, purely semantics. And if that's all I can find to criticize, it's a pretty good audio play.

My congratulations to Jeff Vitkuske, andy my hope that he has more stories where this one came from.

Jeff is putting together a new short audio drama, "The Coruscant Flight." A teaser for it just went up on Fanworks.

Sheer brilliance, I have to say.

The way in which you [Jeff] wrote it really made the whole thing seem like a Shakespearean tragedy (although I could understand what the people were saying, thankfully).

The music made the whole thing resonate with emotion in a way that many stories don't.

All in all, a damn good production. Can't wait for THE CORUSCANT FLIGHT!
    "Skeeter! That's his name!"
