The Lumberjack Song by Monty Python.
Had a 25K planned, but my running partner got a nasty cramp around 20K so we stopped and walked the rest of the way. Fun for all.
Anti-Crap: In 13 days I'll be leaving North Carolina and moving onto the next adventure in Oklahoma. Admittedly, I'm not too wild about being in Oklahoma, but it'll be something different. :yeah:
The Crimson Depths - Sam Dillard
Megadeth t shirt, jeans and my trusty pair of Sanuks.
5.58 mile run followed by 100 situps, 50 pushups, and a trip up a rope.
^ Duct tape perhaps?
I'm revisiting the Senate for the first time in quite awhile, figuring out mileage for this evening's run and cleaning gear for turn in next week.
For whatever reason, this struck me as Evangelion with GLaDOS narrating. I'll definitely see it.
I've picked up Batman: Arkham City awhile ago and have been plugging away at that every now and then alongside my seemingly endless dabbling in Skyrim.
A Gargantuan from Jimmy John's. :hungry:
^ That's a fine way to start your morning.
Mothers of Men - Coheed and Cambria
The Star Spangled Man from the Captain America movie.
Bought some holiday cheer for the upcoming New Years festivities and finally got out running.
Some Grey Goose. I'm not too much of a vodka guy, but that stuff is quite tasty.
Hello everyone.
Been running here and there, but not enough to say so. I did win second place in the "Best Holiday Sweater" category at a 5K I ran a couple weeks ago though with a friend.
Killing time.
Frosted Mini Wheats.
Apple juice.
Folded laundry, got a couple achievements in Resident Evil 6, logged into the Senate...
Eating some leftovers from the battalion mandatory fun day. I'm pleased to report that pulled pork microwaves quite well.
I'm thinking about running in an hour or so... or not.
Finally managed to sleep for more than four hours, ran some errands and played a troop return.
Played a troop return for my battalion, the general, and most importantly some of the "Golden Brigade" (3rd Brigade, 82D Airborne Division) veterans from Vietnam. They never got one, so 40 some odd...
Due to not being able to sleep, I decided to go run. 2 hours and 41 minutes and about 14-15 miles later the verdict was in that it was not a good idea. Oh well.
Played some tunes, listened to some generals speech about stuff, inventoried a bunch of keys, cleaned some stuff and ran for awhile. Pretty solid day.
^ It wasn't all that bad actually. Chilly, but not the hypothermia inducing horror that it's known to be.
Did about an hour of a spur of the moment full body workout. Arms are fried and...
I decided to get drunk and watch movies last night, so here we go.
A History of Violence - 4.5/5 I've been meaning to see this movie since it came out and I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint....
A mix of Dr Pepper and Mountain Dew.
For those interested, the concoction is 25% Dr Pepper and 75% Mountain Dew. It's actually pretty good if the mix is right.
Played a lot of saxophone, cleaned stuff, picked up a few things from the store and set up my ruck for tomorrow.
Cold Outside - Ruth Moody
A black beret to replace my maroon one for when I move to Ft Sill. It almost feels blasphemous to do such a thing.
Finding the last bits of gear for tomorrow and going to bed.
I'm thinking that I might be a little touched in the head. Just a little.
Folks, I just bought an accordion. A Hohner Erica to be precise.
Let's see here... to recap the past couple weeks...
Ran for about an hour on the bike path by my folks' house.
Backpacked around Taquamenon Falls State Park.
Swam in Lake Superior a couple...
Got back to NC, slept for awhile, shaved ( :( ), and did some laundry. Back to reality...
"What The F*** Was That?" from The Evil Dead musical soundtrack.
It twitched a little... turn up the voltage! :zap:
18 miles this past Thursday. I literally lost my mind around mile 14-15. Got really angry, then really sad, then frustrated, then back to sad, then I finally leveled out a couple miles later when...
Fake Empire - The National
Messed up my right knee from a number of potential things. Oddly enough, when I run it's the most comfortable.
The Know-It-All - A.J. Jacobs
One man's quest to read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica. Learned a few random facts, so I can't complain.
Did a little running, filed some crap, ate a burrito, yelled a bit and bought a few groceries. Pretty solid day.
The insanity does seem to have died down a bit.
11.3 miles this evening. Got caught in a downpour about halfway through; sloshing through ankle deep puddles was actually kind of fun. This run was actually pretty reassuring for me since I got...
A little delayed, but congratulations!
I did nothing until about 11 PM. Then I went running. It was a good day.
9 miles this evening. Felt pretty good for the most part, but that was probably because I wasn't exactly pushing the envelope as far as speed goes.
I finally read that about a month ago. Pretty solid reading.
I'm currently hacking away at The Know-It All by A.J. Jacobs.
