Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I didn't love it or hate it, have to see it again. I was just happy it was an actual movie and not atrocious like TLJ. The last scene was stupid though. One question I have though, aren't the Aftermath books canon? I didn't like the writing in them so don't remember all the details, but wasn't Palpa...

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
Maybe it’s me getting old, or perhaps something else, but I just have very little interest in IX. Do you guys remember the fun we had making predictions for the PT?! The only thing that has my interest at all is Favareu’s “The Mandalorian”. Am I the only Senator that feels this way? Do you find my ...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
One year after the death of Emperor Palpatine, the battle of Jakku took place. The Galactic Empire lost the battle, but some Imperials managed to flee to the Unknown Regions. Following the battle, a treaty was negotiated between the Republic and the Imperial Remnant. According to the treaty, the Em...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
The biggest disappointment for me is that these movies haven't explored the nature of the Force, or put any closure/contemplation on Episodes I-VI. Episode VII didn't rule it up, and in fact set it up nicely and it was still possible. But now that Episode VIII is out, it won't happen. I guess it was...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I was pissed and offended by this movie as well. There's not much good about it. Chewie dropping off Rey was cool, the porgs exceeded my expectations bc they were fine- not annoying or even out of place, not much more though. Glad to see I'm not the lone voice anymore.

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
The OS has announced that Colin Trevorrow is no longer directing Ep 9. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting he clashed with Kathleen Kennedy over the script. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/colin-trevorrow-as-director-star-wars-episode-ix-1035463 And I'm sure even more people will be ha...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
You have your opinion but this is just sour apples. I mean Poe's arc was great, Rose was really good. The movies was awesome. Poe's arc is great? He's just a pilot who gets to be on the bridge and demand to be included in everything. Without him, there would be more rebels left than can fit in the ...

Spoilers: So what is the situation in the galaxy?
In TFA, we are introduced to the First Order, which seems to be the remnant of the Empire as they use all their old stuff and keep improving on it. The First Order is in control of a small part of the galaxy and the New Republic the rest. A bunch of people don't want the First Order to continue as t...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I really despise Poe Dameron. He should have died in the crash on Jakku. Rose - useless and annoying. So she wanted to save Finn from killing himself by crashing into his ship and killing both of them? Great idea. the splicer, DJ i think his name was, even more annoying. Was given too much prominenc...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I don't think we should have any surveys on where we think the story is going. Because there is no story anymore. The reason all the directors were fired by disney was that they wouldn't include all of their #$%#$%^ in the movie. Rian Johnson, or whatever his name is, would sell out. Everything that...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
Wow, I am surprised to read these first reactions. I thought the film was absolutely awful from start to finish, there is practically nothing I liked about it. I was reading comments on other sites and let some of my frustration go already, but was glad to see that I wasn't the only one that thought...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
Maybe, as a fan of Star Wars, I can simply encourage people to go see it the second weekend. Of course, I can't tell anyone not to bother seeing it. But given what's transpired, trailers, "critic" reviews, news articles, the actual movie, etc, disney is clearly only interested in breaking ...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I don't want to influence anyone's opinion before they see it, or bring them down, but no. I really really didn't like it. I can't say that about any of the other movies. Even the prequels had something redeeming about them - an element of the story at a minimum.

But probably will wait until the next day. Only VIP tickets available for the two showing that day, and I am not interested in being a VIP

Trying to think outside the box here. Luke is going to refuse to finish training Rey because all he can think about is that eventually it will all go wrong. Rey does her runner to confront Kylo just like Luke did to Vader in ESB. Except this time, Rey starts to fall for Kylo's schtick. Partly becaus...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I don't care about Phasma or Poe either. Phasma should be dead, Poe is just one of many. Finn maybe, but he should probably have a new job by now. I guess that overall the scenes are cut together to give one impression and the actual film will be another. Let's hope so anyway, otherwise what we have...

Re: Untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi
I'm not interested in the Han Solo movie or a Boba Fett one, but this one or perhaps a Yoda movie I might be interested in depending on what it covers. In general though, I'm not interested in one offs about a specific character. That can be dealt with in books. I'd rather have the side stories like...
