Re: Live-action: "Star Wars: Ahsoka"

Who has watched it and what did you think?

There's a lot of presumed knowledge if you haven't watched Rebels and a few other bits and pieces, but I really enjoyed it.

It was nice to see a couple of cameo appearances as well.

Re: Live-action: "Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi" *Spoilers allowed*

Finished the final episode last night. I really, really enjoyed it. Thought it tied everything together nicely, bridging into ANH quite well. I don't think I have too many lingering questions or concerns about plot holes; although Reva leaving with one of the galaxies closet held secrets is perhaps ...

Haha I did chuckle at that and thought the exact same thing!

Re: Live-action: "Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi"

Third episode has dropped. Do we still have spoiler tags on the forums? As I see this thread isn't spoiler listed, but there's definitely spoilers below: I'm definitely enjoying it so far. However, I have concerns about how the meaning behind OT dialogue may be changed. Leia's "only hope" ...

Well, for those who have seen it all now, what did you think?

I started it last week and finished it today. I got some minor spoilers online because I delayed, but nothing important.

Yeah I agree.

And there's not too many shows I watch one episode a week of now; they're either released a full season at a time, or I'll wait until the full season is ready to go (especially with streaming services).

Re: Live-action: "The Mandalorian" (2019)

Haha, excellent point about the title. So because I was too tight to subscribe to Disney+ until the episodes were released, I had three appearances spoiled for me via social media. That's my own fault, but I still thoroughly enjoyed them. As previously commented, this is what I expected the ST to ac...

NOVELS: From a Certain Point of View

I was wondering if anyone has read either of the From a Certain Point of View novels? I see one is based around ANH and the other around TESB. I presume more will one day appear. Any thoughts on if they are worth the read?

This idea certainly intrigues me, if what I've read is correct. Is this a similar concept the Marvel "What Ifs"? If so we could even see some old Legends stories explored a little bit.

Re: "The Mandalorian" Live-Action Series (2019)

As mentioned in The Clone Wars, I finished a two week free trial of Disney+ and crammed in both TCW and The Mandalorian. This was a great live action show. I'd been waiting months to finally watch it and was not disappointed. I only hope they can keep this kind of level into the future.

Re: The Clone Wars

Making the most of a two week free trial of Disney+, I finally finished the last season of The Clone Wars today. I really, really enjoyed it. I've just finished the last four episodes back to back. Great use of Maul. Great overlap with Order 66. I'm very glad they opted to add one final season. It's...

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Well, here go my thoughts, as I return from the cinema where I first saw AOTC 17 years ago. In late 2004, I joined The Galactic Senate just as the Saga was officially coming to an end. I picked a name that has since followed me everywhere online. 15 years later we are here once again, almost certain...

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

If you’ve watched Rebels you know Grand Admiral Thrawn is Cannon AND he’s more likely alive than Palpatine should be. My question is simple, would you rather have Palpatine as the puppet-master of the ST or Thrawn? I personally think using Thrawn would be a much better choice than Palpatine. It pre...

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

With the supposed leaks, the emptiness of a movie that was The Last Jedi is really tangible. If the leaks are accurate, it introduces a whole bunch of stuff that should've been at least hinted at earlier and not come out of the blue in the last movie. This is what happens when there's no plan and t...

Re: "The Mandalorian" Live-Action Series (2019)

The trailer has dropped at D23 and now available to watch on the OS. It's ok but still not enough for me to subscribe to Disney+. Can we get access to it here in Australia yet? Honestly, if the price is fair and they offer the three years for two deal, I will probably get on board. With Star Wars a...

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Maybe it’s me getting old, or perhaps something else, but I just have very little interest in IX. Do you guys remember the fun we had making predictions for the PT?! Aye, I remember those times. That's what brought me to the Galactic Senate. This time around I'm not even sure I know the PT well eno...

Re: Untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi

Yes, those two things also concern me. There is so, so, so much potential here (like it or loathe it, there's a reason the EU was so large before the Disney take over, with books, games, comics, etc.) I just want to see that potential harnessed.

Re: General Discussion Stand-Alones

I think it would be for the best if the projects were put on hold and for LFL/Disney to create a proper strategy. It concerns me that they didn't do this going into the PT and the other standalone movies. It should have been obvious from the outset that they needed a plan. I just hope that the appa...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Yeah fair points there, especially about Kenobi and Yoda both bouncing back (so to speak) despite what they had been through. I do feel like the ST could have been handled much better and more coherently from the start. I guess we've still got one more movie to see where it all goes.

I don't think anyone's posted a link to this article, but I thought it was an interesting take on some of the events in TLJ: http://bigshinyrobot.com/60239/luke-skywalkers-arc-star-wars-last-jedi/ Not sure it will change anyone's minds about the quality of the storyline, but it might give people som...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)

I'll post my quick thoughts below. I wasn't overly looking forward to this as I felt TFA didn't live up to expectations. I enjoyed TLJ a lot more than VII - but I've always said I'll wait to judge the ST until all the movies are released. I quite liked it; but once again there seemed to be a lot of ...

Might need to mention about spoilers for TLJ in the title at this stage. However, I was thinking the exact same thing. How did we get from 30 years of rebuilding to the last Rebels being wooshed away on transports? Were the planets destroyed last movie that important to the Republic that they tore o...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I've read it. And I didn't mind it (but I'm also easily pleased). That said, my main takeaway from the novel was that Tarkin would feel he was hand picked by the Emperor to carry out his work, possibly lending credence to your thoughts that he wasn't intimidated by him. And he isn't a man who has re...

Re: Untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi

This is probably the stand alone movie I'd be most looking forward to. However, I think they have the perfect chance to use Ewan. So if they do an "origins" story, I'd still want to see one set between 3 and 4.
