Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
The Last Jedi was released on Blu-Ray last Monday. I posted this elsewhere, and I was a bit hesitant to repost it here, but these are some of my beefs and nitpicks with the movie (I've consolidated it and added a few things). I haven't gone out of my way to find things to complain about, but I comp...

Re: Untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi
Early in Disney's announcement they were having 3 stand alone movies and now they have 6 in development. Since Solo is just over a month away, there has been little talk of what the last of the originals stand alone. I wonder if this idea for a Obi Wan has been abandoned by Disney or if it is being...

Re: Last Movie Watched
Saw the film Tuesday afternoon, as soon as I could clear time to spin the disc. I have six or seven pages of notes I'm working up into a proper post for the proper thread. If anyone is interested. If not, well, that's cool, too. 6-7 pages?!?!? Eagerly awaiting your essay. I think it should arrive s...

Benioff and Weiss to Create Series of Star Wars Movies
This went COMPLETELY below my radar... The creators of the television version of Game of Thrones , David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, are to write and produce a series of Star Wars movies separate from the Saga movies and the trilogy that Rian Johnson is going to create. Lucasfilm's press release on the ...

One thing TLJ (and also TFA) proves is that masks puppetry isn't always better than CG: The Canto Bight scene features the worst masks and puppetry ever shown in a Star Wars movie... Heck, some of the designs are more in line with Men in Black than Star Wars.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
I bought it on Wednesday here in the states and I haven't felt an urgency to watch the film itself, which I found very strange, considering I only saw it once in theaters and knew it required multiple viewings for me to get a real good handle on it. That bothers me....hell, I watched the extremely ...

Re: Star Trek - From TOS to Discovery and Beyond
And the last episode of the season was a rush job... There were a few episodes I liked, but overall the series is... uneven is a kind word for it. They should have set it at least 50 years after Voyager instead. Yeah. I thought the series found more stable footing in the middle with episodes 5 thro...

Re: Last Television Show Watched
I've been watching some of Star Trek: Voyager on Netflix. I really didn't like the show when it was aired on Swedish public service, but I liked some of the characters and I stuck to it. One of the best things with streaming is that you can skip episodes you don't like (and with Voyager there are qu...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS ALLOWED)
My problem with that is that I see Artoo and Chewie having as much of an emotional connection, if not more, and just didn't buy into Luke brushing off those two, but then responding to a couple minutes of basic, obvious truths from Yoda. I'd have preferred if they dropped the Yoda scene, and earlie...

It (2017). We have an expression in Swedish (it's not that old and I understand it has started to spread to the U.S. as well): Fjortis . While it comes from the age of 14 (the number, 14, is fjorton in Swedish), it's a derogatory word for immature teens. I would describe It as a fjortis horror movi...
