You know, I can still remember the first time I saw Heir to the Empire sitting on a book shelf in a Waldenbooks. Since the death of Bantha Tracks Star Wars news was scarce and I can remember the unexpected joy of a new adult series of Star Wars books. A year later I found Rogue Squadron in a Wal-Mart, and from there on I was hooked. Ok, obsessed.

4. The Jungle Book – Of all of the “classic” Disney movies, this has always been my favorite. A swinging jazz beat with Louis Prima and Phil Harris retell Kipling’s classic.
3. The Sound of Music – One of the great big movie musicals.

The toughest part of this list was the more recent movies. A movie like Jaws has been with me so long and has been viewed so many times that I can quote it, discuss it and still know how I feel about it. Newer movies are still having their shelf lives figured out.

The 1990's were a good time for sci-fi fans. It began with Total Recall and a bunch of sequels (Gremlins 2, Predator 2, and Back to the Future III). Terminator 2, Stargate and two good Star Trek movies (and some bad Star Trek movies) followed, along with a series of lesser movies.

32. Batman – Coming out at the end of the 1980’s this was the movie that showed me what a superhero movie could do. Keaton makes a good Bats, Nicholson does an interesting Joker and Kim Basinger as the love interest started a series which flamed and burned with the nipple suit.
31. Hoosier’s – Probably
