Star Wars Ring Tones?

Hey Dudes and Dudets,

A friend of mine heard a rumor that ILM is making a deal with a wireless telephone company to provide free Star Wars wallpaper and Star Wars ring tones for cell phones in anticipation for the Return of the Sith. Sounds pretty cool and I'm curious what kind of ring tones they might make.

Has anyone heard anything about this???

If you have a Sprint PCS you can use the uploader over at sprintusers.com to upload any type of MIDI file to you phone via Vision. Works pretty well.

There are lots of websites out there that have SW ringtones for Cingular. My problem is that they don't list my phone as compatible because the model is only a few months old. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif

Cingular has all sorts of ringtones and wallpapers. But they aren't free. The ringtones aren't compatible with my cell phone, though. I did get some wallpapers (although they aren't free) but they don't fit right on my screen. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

I bought a Nokia connection cable, hooked it up to the USB. Downloaded, trimmed and edited a bunch of Star Wars MIDI's and now I'm the only person (in Brazil at least) that has all his mobile sounds be of Star Wars.

Well the exeption is the ringtone of my GF, that's The Power of Love from Back to the Future. But afar from that I have The Cantina for work calls, The Imperial March for friends, The End Title for when my family calls and Star Wars Main Title (Luke's Theme) for any other incomming calls. For messages alert I use the good old Fox Fanfarre.

I'm happy.

So look if you cellphone has a cable and software available to connect it to your computer, browse the net for MIDIs and a Midi Software that allows you to trim them and then pass a long time editing the poliphony so it plays the best on your mobile.

I have 2 different sw tunes on my cell phone..
I also have Yoda telling me that "there is a message from the dark side" when I get a sms or mms.
I also have one that he says..: Pling...your phone..ringing it does...push the button you must..and fulfill your destiny.."
Those last two are in mp3..

If you don't want to pay, a lot of phones have composers on them and you can compose your own ring. I got the Imperial March... and I composed it by ear! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

I know that feeling. I had the main theme and Leia's theme on my old phone that I programmed in through a composer, but the new model didn't have it, nor did it support ringtones. But I'm soon to have to get a new phone (old ones dying), and this new one shall support ringtones, so... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happydance.gif
