I met Albin once or twice - he's a wonderful guy and this story is just heartbreaking. Cherish every day with the ones you love and if you can find it in your heart, make a donation (this is not a scam) and why not post here if you do and write some words of support. Let's keep this thread alive.

Thanks,
T

Poor little girl. We had a family friend who went through a similar ordeal. It isn't a very nice expericence. I donated, it wasn't much as I wish I could. I hope the word gets out and more people can donate to her aid.

Sad.

Poor soul and her family.

EDIT:

I didn't know too much about this and about the founding of the 501st until now. I hope countless more kids will benefit from the selfess work begun by her parents.

From Katie's illness has come hope for other kids and I think that's still a defeat against the disease which has taken her. We live in a screwed up world just now, but one wee girl's fight has inspired people to do good things and help others.

Long may it continue.

Yea I was wondering when this post was going to happen. From the last update they posted it sounded like things weren't going well and they were just going to make her last couple months memorable ones. It's sad when people die at such young ages. So many things that you don't get to experience.

I feel really bad for the parents. They are the ones who are going to remember every day about their little girl who they didn't get to watch grow up. It's so sad. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

Cancer can take anyone at any time and in my words:

"The destroyer of life"

I have lossed someone very dear to me due to cancer, and when I stumbled over a topic T put up on Star Warz.
It drove me to tears.

Katie was the daughter of the leader of the 501st legion and died August 9th 2005.
She was born in 1998.

The worst case of this happening is when you see little kids get hit hard by this uncurable disease.

I have fealt the pain of albin and understand what he is going through.

I'm sorry if this topic has already been put up, but I think it deserves to be mentioned

I am going to put up a couple links here, these are Charities close to my heart.

The first is the National Association of Childrens Hospitals (http://www.childrenshospitals.net/) where can look up Childrens hospitals in your area. Donations made to your local hospital stay at your local hospital.

The second is the Children's Organ Transplant Association (http://www.cota.org/site/c.dqLQI3OEKpF/b.496377/k.CC4B/Home.htm) where you can read about children waiting for organ transplants, and if you wish donate to increase awarness and help pay expehnses. While my sister-in-law was in the hospital after her transplant COTA paid the full cost of the family house my mother-in-law was staying in. They are great institution.

Thanks
