now see, if they had done something like that with actual images from the movie or marketing shots how much better would it have been received? sometimes i think they are half asleep over at lfl.

thanks for being my knight in shining armour h. i genually think this one is better than the official poster. i didn't mean that as an attack on starwars. im sure george didnt make the official poster himself. and i think if he'd seen jaybirds version im sure he would have gone for this one.

No, I did a naughty and used the pod from the latest HS BTH pic and modified a scene from ESB by adding the EII yoda's head

ooooooh, so the pod is a SW pod

at least the continuity's there......and yoda's head, i don't know why, but it looks slightly off, i can't quite put a finger on why (and not the fact that it's teh ep2 head)

May be because the Pod looks like its in High deff then the rest of the pic and also the pod looks like nothing happend to it like no burn damage. That may be why.

Thanks for the info st9… I went back and put a slight Gaussian Blur on the pod as to cut back on it's crispness… as for the burn damage, I'll chalk that up to a soft, Force-guided landing style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

Jaybird: It's not often (in fact never) that SW fan art impresses me or inspires me but your Yoda pic definately did. It was superb and really rather poinient as far as SW goes. I hope you don't mind and feel free to ask me to remove it, but I just made this because I wanted to add a focus point to the picture - that there is hope in the darkness.

And this little green man is part of that hope.

AWESOME. I wanted to do something very similar.… but I didn't have time today while I was at work. I usually do all my fan stuff "on company time", and today the boss man was hovering near my workstation quite a bit so I couldn't work in my other "effects".

Buy Photoshop Element and save a few bucks… most off the feature that CS has aren't necessary to do some moderate PS editing… just an FYI

no empire217, not really, I've been using it for about 11 years, but it basically comes down to trying different things with the software.

Learn how to use layer masks, filter and the brushes and you can do pretty much anything.

I recommend any book by Scott Kelby.
