This novel features Jedi Master Shaak Ti, who is trying to liberate Republic Forces that are behind enemy lines.

Ooooh! And the plot thickens.

Though, maybe for now, until we have more info on the individual books, we should just have one thread to announce new books? Kind of like the General NJO thread. Whaddya think, Bond?

No, eventually there will be threads on these books, might as well start 'em now.

Not to drag this out, but we could always re-name the title of the thread to better reflect the topic (i.e. discussion of the book) later, if needed.

What is this book? Was it ever released? I know nothing about it.

Nope, it was canceled, never saw the light of day...

That's too bad. What was it gonna be about? Who was gonna write it? I kinda like Shaak Ti.

Sure the book was canceled, but The Unofficial Clone Wars Site has some archival info on the book as well as a summary of the Dagu Revolt (the major event supposed to occur in the book). William Dietz, author of those Kyle Katarn books in the '90s, was going to be the author. Dave Seeley (http://www.clonewarz.com/features/interviews/daveseeley.htm) did the coverart (check out my interview (http://www.clonewarz.com/features/interviews/daveseeley.htm) with him for a larger view at the doomed cover).

Too bad, it seemed promising... I wonder why it was cancelled, but these are things we'll never learn I guess.

Just found out about this and damn, what a shame. Cover art done and everything. I really like Shaak Ti and would have liked to read about her in a book (where she ISN'T getting her ass kicked by General Grievous. It's harder to see the characteristics that made her a jedi MASTER when she's losing).

I wonder why it was cancelled? Did the author back out, or did the publishing company not think it would sell well enough (perhaps based on sales of other Clone Wars novels like Shatterpoint?)

If I recall correctly, it was cancelled to make way for Yoda: Dark Rendezvous.

It's a shame cos I would have liked to learn more about Shaak Ti - perhaps it might see the light of day in the future if enough people wanted to have it.

I agree with that, the book seemed quite promisory, but you still can see some hints on that in the clone Wars animated series and the comic books...though that might possibly be discussed in the Shaak Ti thread.
