BTW, was Coleman Trebor on the Council or was he just a Jedi who wasn't? And why can't Yoda and the rest of the council go and do their own assignments instead of sending someone else???

Yes that is so, I just watched AOTC again and noticed that they said he was a member of the Jedi Council. However he wasn't a member during the TPM which makes me think he died before Episode I?

He did!...almost 2 years i think.....But then again...i alway's thought that Count Dooku was on the council!I think in some book that Count Dooku and Sifo-Dyas were on the council together like 2 years before TPM..than Sifo died and Count left the jedi order...just a random guess from me!

my theory was always that sifo was dookus master and when he died, yoda took over the counts training, but thats for a different thread.

Dooku was never a member of the Jedi Council for the same reason that Qui-Gon Jinn was never on the Council. Both were idealists, and were prone to acting without the Council's direction and at the will of the Living Force.

So, the real Sifo-Dyas may have been on the Jedi Council (but not within a year of TPM) but Dooku never was.
