I guess a lot depends on if Joruus ever comes back... I have no indication one way or the other on that. I'm giving him a little more time, then I'll pose the question to him again... is he in or out.

Meche agrees with me that we shouldn't let the story die at this stage. Shoma has expressed his commitment as well. Mara will stay, I assume Smeg will... so the question becomes what to do if Joruus doesn't, since his character is rather central to the story. For now I say we keep going a few more posts without him or write in brief snippets of the Being or Jessica Styles if we have to. Then I'll explain to him that we really need to know if Relar is going to post anymore or not. If not, I'll have to negotiate a settlement with him.</span>

I'm kinda stuck too, since currently Elena is on a ship with some of Joruus's characters.

An update on Joruus... he did finally register here, so maybe we'll here from him in this thread soon. I keep hoping! His last few emails to me sounded like he was in better spirits.</span>

I will be back around shortly. *I have 4 of 9 program plans complete (if you don't know what that is, it's basically an outline of all the goals I've addressed with my kids over the past 4 months and my evaluation of how well they did...and I did...at accomplishing those goals. *And if that means nothing to you, know that it's code for alot of paperwork. *I have some that are as long as ten pages WITHOUT my activity list, which is anywhere from 3 to 5 pages long.)

All that to say there is an end to the road. *I still have to write up my case study and research project and finish my creative project, but that is simply a piece of cake after all of the above. *Give me about two more weeks, and I'll be around alot more.

I still like this one better as an overall story. I like writing a Jedi character, although it's getting more complex with the whole forbidden love thing and Serci and Shoma and what to do with all that... grr. At least my character in my other story CAN fall in love... though he's a guy... nothing can be perfect, can it? Ironically, he's kissing a Jedi now though... but in the NJO timeframe that's allowed...lol!

Well, I get the best of all worlds on the Pod.

I write for an ex-smuggler, a Jedi, a Sith, a gang of ship-industry crew members (belonging to the ex-smuggler who heads the company)...and others.

It's fun, but at the moment, things are just a touch more than hairy in that particular story line. I'm not sure how it will all turn out...

I'd also like to kill off a few characters, NPCs, not any of the character's we're writing for... Does anyone object? Or could you guys all give me a list of untouchables, please?

And Mara? Any idea what you're going to do with Rion? He's with Beka, who I'm probably gonna need, but sounds like they want to work together too. Ide-ers?

Just to update people on my status... i DO have something written.. its on MY computer (im on my dads right now, staying with the parents this week). ...I'm working in Vacation bible school with Two year olds who cry "Mommy!" every time they see the door open. It's been a touigh week, as much as I love the kids that like to pile in your lap and chatter and play (although today I think I scored holding the BIGGEST kid in the class in my lap. Still feels like he's sitting there two hours later, lol).

Joruus, you've been reading Unknown? LOL... it's a bit different than this novel-type story we are writing... more like a traditional RPG - making it up as we go along with very minimal plotspinning. I know... I had to get past the withdrawal to not plan ahead, but... I think it's turning out well nonetheless. Helps to have a good partner-writer that plays well with you. And you can't be afraid to change your image/reactions of your own character. I have to admit Finn is growing on me...

Another thing, Joruus. I need to email you about what to do next with Serci and Veedy since they are being escorted to a meeting with the Being. Don't know how you want to handle that... I've written a preliminary next post, but it involves a convo with the Being, so I need to send it to you and solicit your opinion. Maybe you'd rather write it ? I dunno, I'll send it and see what you think. Hopefully I'll get it off to you today.

Serci was only trying to sense her immediate surroundings when she was taken to the being and interrogated. She might be able to sense Elena now... if Elena's using the Force, like Meche said.

I don't know how supersensitive Jedi are to other force users when they aren't trying to detect them. Heck, in AOTC, Anakin was in all that pain over his mother and Obi-Wan, his own master, didn't even notice. I'm guessing because Obi-Wan was too distracted at the time?

Anyway, Serci isn't a seasoned Jedi and that's not her strongest skill. She sensed Shoma when he was trying to send a message to her, and Jaren when he tried to reach out in the force to her. But she doesn't even know Elena and Elena isn't trained as a Jedi... hard to tell how "connected" they'd be. My guess isn't much yet. And Serci wouldn't expect other force-user prisoners to be there necessarily. If they bump into each other or get in close proximity, and Serci tries to read Elena, she'll know Elena has force ability. Remember Jaren thought he sensed that about her too on Coruscant, but he was staring at/scanning her.</span>

Un teensy weensy itty bitty discrepancy with your last post. You have Serci and Bikron communicate by the Force so that the being's surveillance won't pick up the fact that Bikron's a Jedi. They you have Strofix say to that same surveillance, "I think I know a way out of here," and a fight ensues. Don't you think the being's guards would be just a hare more suspicious. Not to mention careful? There dealing with at least one Force sensitive here.

I don't mind the pirates breaking out. I don't know, the scene just seems a little forced though. I would appreciate if you could edit it a little, but if not, I'll just try to work around subordinate stupidity (seems a common theme in Star Wars anyway...) style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hehe.gif

Actually, Bikron and Serci communicate through the Force so that the pirates don't hear. Bikron doesn't want them to know yet that he's a Jedi.

As for the rest of the talking, I figured that they talked quietly enough. Don't know if that's enough.

And yeah, I assume subordinate stupidity to flow with the rest of the SW sagas. But I can give the being's grunts a little more benefit of doubt.

First things first, I just wanna apologise for being out of commission for so long... some major upheavals in my life over here have made it necessary, but I know that it sucks when someone disappears for an extended period of time.

I have my next post half written... but i also have 2 assignments due on friday, and I'm going to a conference in Sydney next week.. so unfortuantely, that stuff has to be given top priority.

HOWEVER, that being said, anytime i get a spare five minutes or whatever, i fully intend to keep writing... i wanna finish this bad boy off so Cat and I can go back and finish CP... lol... (maybe... lol)

So, in the meantime, sit tight, and keep your eyes peeled... I'll try to check in to let you guys know how it's going... and if there's anything i need to be made aware of (major developments etc) lemme know! E-mail me!! (Dr Evil Voice- Need the info.. somebody throw me a fricken bone here! lol)

<span style="color:#daa500">Don't tease me like that Shoma... it's really not fair... *CP - I'm game if you are (& anyone else too), but you'll prolly be off saving the world or getting married or something by then*.

Basically, the pirates, Elena, Serci, Kowan Reece (aka Veedy Barkin), Talman Myr are all at the being's headquarters. The pirates are just now busting out looking for Barkin, but Serci is sitting tight, waiting for Shoma and Co. to arrive. Elena is being "tricked" by the being and Talman is being mentally tortured by him. Beka and Rion and Jaynen and Dree are all still on Coruscant (I think).

That's about where we are, so any time you want to start the Jedi infiltration would be nice. Oh, and Bikron (the pirate) is a Jedi under cover and now Serci knows he's Jedi but is keeping his secret for him.

Someday I'll fix the links to the story archive and character descriptions, maybe this weekend. Btw, it's ok for me to tease... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hehe.gif </span>

Visiting colleges? I notice about everyone does that nowadays. Me, I only had a choice between 3 schools (in-state university only), majoring in engineering narrowed that to 2, and I'd been to all of them before, so the choice was easy. My decision was based totally on common sense anyway... I didn't choose Iowa State because I'd have to wait a year to get into the engineering college and the engineering program had 5000 students instead of Iowa's 1200. I went for knowing my professors and having more that spoke english. Iowa State has the more prestigious engineering school, but guess what? I make just as much money as the people at work who went there instead. And we had a WAY better football & basketball team... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

The moral of my story... where you go matters little as long as it's well-known and an accredited program, so go for the environment you'd feel most comfortable in, not just the prestige. And make sure the girls are worthy there. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif</span>

My apartment building was hit by lightning the nite before I moved in, and that somehow fried the DSL line my roomies had, and we havent been able to get it fixed.
