Hello people, sorry about that Cat. My finals week is next week, and I will start taking classes in January. So I have a couple of weeks in between the two to write.

Joruus: I have a couple questions. First, is Jessica Styles married or widowed?
The other thing, I was weirded out by the being thinking that Bikron was not a pirate. The reason Bikron would have acted strangely was because he was a newbie, having been picked up by the pirates only a couple months ago.

Well, guys, another week, another... well I wish I could say another post. Unfortunately, my RPG duties were one of several responsibilities I did not quite get to fulfilling this weekend. However, with Smeg's go ahead and a late arrival to school on Tuesday, perhaps I can have a little ditty up and running by mid-week, or, at the latest, this weekend. Is this amenable to you all or should I prepare to be ostracized by your eternal ire? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

Smeg, I think I sent you a basic plot analysis of what I want to do with Beka earlier. If I'm imagining this or you've lost it, let me know and I'll send it again.

Meche, I pictured Jessica as single, but that's only carved in quicksand, so if you have an interesting little subplot you'd like to suggest, I'd be happy to have my Jessica be a part of it (yes I am quite fond of her). As for Bikron... I just figured that the being would have a sort of sixth sense about these things. Not that he knows everything, for obviously he does not know that Bikron is a Jedi, just that with the security of the business he is in, I thought he would be able to make pretty good judgements about people, knowing who is and who is not what they seem. And I figure it adds to his mystique and omnipotence a little bit. If you think its corny, or too much, or if the being's half-knowledge of the truth interferes with your plot plans, I can make changes where need be. Just let me know.

The being’s wondering about Bikron seemed a little much, but eh. If Bikron seems a little off to him, that’s okay. I think I’ll be taking some liberties also (I’ll show you my ideas after my finals are over next Friday).

Well, in the "Rebellion" computer game setup, Ghorman is in the Sesswenna Sector, just a hare's breadth away from Coruscant. I suppose we can look it up in the online encyclopedia of Star Wars planets if we want the canon decision on its location. Other than that, I think Senator Mon Mothma was Senator of Ghorman and that Emperor Palaptine's first massacre of protestors/dissenters occurred on Ghorman (even before the disaster at Camaas).

In the Star Wars Online Encylopedia, Ghorman is a planet in the midst of the Ghorman system which is located in the Sern sector. Ghorman is just outside the core worlds (and thus would be on major trade routes). The infamous Ghorman massacre, as I stated earlier, did occur here, when Wycliff Tarkin landed his Star Destroyer on a group of anti-tax protestors. Mon Mothma, however, was the Senator of Chandrila, not Ghorman... my mistake. Hopefully, this will help if you need any info for future posts, Shoma.

Hubby bought me the Feb 2003 volume of "Star Wars Insider" (with Darth Vader on the cover) and included in the packaging was a color poster of the Star Wars Galaxy Map. It's awesome! I highly recommend it... better than squinting at those maps in the books or online.

BTW, Ghorman isn't on there, but I suppose not every planet ever written about is listed. We could always say it's a moon rather than a planet. Or maybe it was renamed something else later in SW history, since we're many years before TPM.

<span style="color:#daa500">That's OK Joruus... it makes sense if Tanner was there then Jaren would've been along, even if Tanner kept him in the dark about his theories or conversations with Relar. I was only concerned because while Shoma, Jaren and Saeed were plotting how to get to Ghorman, Jaren never mentions he's been there before. I didn't know you were going to mention that Tanner had been there.

It's a minor thing really. I believe when the Jedi were plotting, Jaren was trying to speak up about doing the recon and Shoma interrupted him. I can work something in with Jaren later thinking that he should have been the one for the job since he'd been to Ghorman before. He can be frustrated that Shoma doesn't listen to him.

That's how I meant to work it, so don't worry... under control! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif You didn't mess up, it's just more of a challenge for us near the end to plug up the plot holes. We go so long without writing on this that we forget details of other people's posts... I know I do too.</span>

I like how the story's starting to fall into place. Elena, Talman, the being, the loose ends are being tied up one by one, yet the plot only grows more complex. I can't wait to see where all of this ends up.

I'm sorry, did I really seem to have abandoned ship?

I would never do that unless the group as a whole voted to disband. I have an obligation, both to you and to the other writers, both because I have characters involved in the story and because I storyboarded/worked out/agreed to write the ending, to stick with this RPG until its final moments.

I fixed my Talman post and have something up for him now; it didn't need to be edited as much as I thought. I saved the old one, but don't know if it shall ever see the light of day again. You may want to read it, but it is just too freaky to be let loose.

If all of our other authors really have retired for good, but you are still interested in continuing the story over a longer period of time/later, I could give you what I have storyboarded for Janyen, Dree, Leuis, Beka, Rion, Elena, Talman, the being, and Jessica Styles. Otherwise, I don't know what we should do...

Her liver has stopped working and they don't know why. She is married with three children. I have a couple of announcements. One, I'm going on vacation from July 31 to August 11, and probably won't have access to my e-mail during that time. So if I ignore posts or e-mails for the next week and a half, that's why.

Two, I sent an e-mail to Shoma asking if Joruus and I could collaborate on writing his character for him in his absence. I've given him until August 11 to reply, then I'll start pulling together the info Shoma's provided to me regarding his plans for Shoma, and start writing a post. I'll have Joruus improve it and help make it sound more like Shoma's writing style, as much as possible. I'll make sure we follow his original plans for his character, not twist things too much to our own ideas.

Either Shoma will decide to come back or let us run with it. Either way, it should get the story moving along again... I'm hoping. I really hope it prompts him to come back, but I understand not everyone can keep making time for this story.

I have this trouble with relationships, I've always had it, where when I start feeling like I'm doing all the work, I get tired of it. I consider myself a very generous person, and I love to give to people, and do so often. But every now and then I get tired of always giving, and I just give up, get lazy, whatever you want to call it. I dunno... it's other stuff too. I'm really trying to get back into my faith again... I think that might be Shoma's problem too. It consumes you, as it should. Everything else just becomes so unimportant and trivial.

I love you all, I really mean that, even tho' I've never met any of you in person. Right now my family and my church family are consuming almost all of my time, and work is really getting more demanding too. I'm moving up a little now, which means more responsibility. Star Wars is a hobby, but that's all it is, and has to take a back seat to everything else.

The thing that sux is I hate giving up on anything I've put so much heart into. I didn't want to be the one to say I'm quitting, but I guess I have. I didn't want to be the reason... I never quit, I hate when people quit, but now I'm being the bum.

If it's any consolation, this project has helped me in many ways. I've really improved my writing skills, and I'm no longer afraid to share my writing with other people. I've been writing things at work and church that actually inspire people, and that's an amazing thing. You guys have helped me grow to that level, and someday I will finish my real book. If you guys start up again and this site is still here or we are in touch somehow, I'm willing to contribute and finish my part. But it's not up to me anymore, this isn't MY story, it's OURS. Perhaps, this comes at the right time. Perhaps this story has served its purpose and though it has gone unfinished, leaves us each with a part of each other which has made us more vibrant, alive people. Perhaps we are meant now to bring that life to others outside of this message board.

Cat, you said your faith life is consuming you. I am glad for you. Faith life is soul to me; I find no better fulfillment (and perhaps challenge, too) than in my faith life. In a sense, faith is transition from one life to another. Some things are meant to be left behind.

I can't speak for you in the past months, but I feel like I have outgrown this story, like my energies are better channeled elsewhere. I am in transition too. This feeling has increased as I've entered college for the first time and in many ways have had to start over and to refine who I am.

I don't know if I'm sorry that this story may not be finished. I guess I'm sorry because I thought it could and I promised that it could and now I feel like I cannot keep that promise, as if my word really wasn't good enough for me to keep.

Well Cat, no need to apologize for deciding to take care of your real life, especially when the rest of us help with this fanfic only sporadically. I finally posted that thing I should have posted in July or something. Anyway, I’ll be happy to help write an ending to this thing. I’m in the process of wrapping up my end of the story, which will probably be finished around the time Episode III comes out.

Well, I can truthfully say I'm very saddened that I have come back here not only to find my account no longer working (I had to re-register) but to also find that it appears everyone has given up the ghost on the story. I guess I haven't "moved on" or "grown up," I really would have liked to finish despite my absence. I guess I sound like I'm whining, and I'm sorry if I do. I just wish that someone might have let me know what was going on; I do have an email address and a screen name still. I guess the truth is that I lost my passion for this story when others started disappearing, and I guess that's not fair of me to say since I sound like I'm blaming everyone else. Still, I would have been checking here much more regularly had others been on board and I can't deny that fact. As it is, I don't check the Senate anyway, just the topics pertaining to this RPG.

Regardless of all my whining, however, I have enjoyed writing this story with all you guys. Someday I would truly like to finish it; I don't know if that is even a possibility anymore but I certainly would hope.

This prolly sounds ABSOLUTELY NUTS... but one of the goofy "deal with life" things I do is escape reality and play stories in my head when I'm over-stressed. For whatever reason, Serci is one of my favorite characters I've created, so I STILL play little head-adventures with her in them, including possible reactions to events at the end of this story. I can't get her out of my head! She's like a ghost haunting me until I write some closure on this episode, public or not.

Well, I can't do it alone, but after more conscience-wrestling, I have such a creative bug right now and I'm blocked on my real book at the moment. Writing Obi-Wan exile stories as a distraction just isn't doing it for me.

Anybody else want to get back into this thing? It's not like we've been posting every week, so most of us should be able to keep up. What if everybody tried to post once a month? New Year's resolution, maybe?

I say, we ask Shoma and Joruus one more time out of courtesy (I'll e-mail them), then attempt what we can on our own. If those guys can't commit, I'll volunteer to work on Shoma's part if someone else wants to take the Being and Jessica Styles.

Okay, to recap (at least for me), I'm having my pirate group decide to go back and help Serci rather than escape from the headquarters. Strofix didn't want to help Serci until Pikros called her and told her to.
I'm probably going to have a new character pop in. She was the one who interrupted Pikros and Bikron's comlink conversation (through a third channel). Not sure if she'll fit in very well. She's another Jedi, whom I will probably keep in the background. Or bring in if anyone here will find that useful.

just for clarification...

...Paul Talon is the Senator that Elena worked for while trying to crop up information on Srakes' death in the very beginning of the story. I'm not sure why he would be investigating Strakes' murder, unless it is to make himself look totally innocent, just a nice guy trying to find out why a friend of his was murdered. Then again, I suppose he could be looking for some potential sort of information through his search as well.

Does any of this make sense, or am I totally confused?

BTW, I WON'T be writing tonight, I gotta figure this out first...

I believe the premise of those past posts was that Sen. Paul Talon was a friend of Relar's who was investigating his murder both to find the culprit and to clear Relar's name of his alleged shady ties with cloners.

But, of course, if Sen. Talon is really the being/the murderer, it would be a convenient way for him both to appear innocent and to keep tabs on how the investigation is going, what evidence has been found, who is "talking" etc.

It came to me from a while back that Elena had said how incompetently, if well-meaningly that Sen. Talon was going about the whole thing. Well what if he wasn't being incompetent at all?

Bout this time last year, my life-ski had some pretty major upheaval, which led to the most severe case of writers block i've ever had- I just couldnt write ANYTHING- even had to pull out of a film competition because i couldnt get teh script right *sigh*

The Shoma post that Cat wrote, i struggled and agonised with for months, and just couldn't get it to work... she did a bang up job on it, by the way, so thank you kindly style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Anyhoo, that post had me backed into a corner, facing off dozens and dozens of Destroyer droids- but Cat swooped in, lightsaber blazing and carved me an escape route- so here I am, ready to get posting/writing/working again!!!

Got a few ideas after having read through the story last night- can have alot of fun now that Lantz and Aaron are on deck. And since Jaren is on his own and running around carzily, things are gonna get real interesting real fast. It's been too long since SHoma (the character) has carved some stuff up with his blue-blade, and WAY too long since Saeed has blown something out...

I think we had talked before about using Beka to help with getting into Ghorman (somewhere in the story Shoma had called her for info, if you can find that part). So Shoma & co. would have to have told her that's where Serci was being held and they could use some extra help from Coruscant. How you tie that to Rion knowing that Elena is also there... So Smeg, it's up to you what you want Beka to do next or if you want her helping with the recon or hacking into Ghorman's security or something to help the Jedi get in.

BTW, an old link to the first half of the story is found at the bottom of page 18 of this thread. I need to update the actual text with my new file... 2.) Beka should still be on Bortis; she would have to take a bit of a trip to make it to Ghorman and start hacking computer systems there. It can be done, it's just how to make it plausible.

Now since speed is an issue, there are two decent sounding ways I figure she could get there: She could slice tickets on some sort of high-speed transport or luxury liner, or she could slice into the local constabulary and have a fast smuggler ship of some kind released to her, so long as someone else could pilot it.
