Allright, from what I've been able to figure out the decks on both DS's have been parallel to the equator, my question is this, is the gravity on the northern hemisphere opposite of the gravity on the southern hemisphere or is it constant throughout the station.

Huh? First off, who cares, and secondly, who cares?

Anti-grav generators would be installed under the floor plating on every deck, so the gravity would be distributed evenly from north to south - obviously not in the power core style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif The drawback is that as you move from one floor to another, you loose a bit of gravity's pull from the floor below, before the pull from the floor above takes hold. Lift shafts would be immune as they have their own internal magnetic fields, propelling the lift up or down through the floor magnetic fields.

Are your guessing or do you actually know that?

Don't get me started on the tractor beam generators style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

Most impressive JediBendu, seriously. I am intrigued by how both artificial gravity and anti-gravity fields work and to that affect I have downloaded pages and pages of info about gravity and how gravitons work, in order to try to understand how anti-gravity repulsers would work to counter and negate the pull of gravity. Did you know that anti-gravity repulsers are a subject the U.S. military and some scientific groups have been theorizing and experimenting with? Regarding your message, don't you mean "gravity generators" rather than anti-grav? What about this: Although the decks are parallel to the DS equator, the structures across the surface of the DS are parallel to the surface on an angle to the equator. Do they have their own gravity field generators, or are they affected by the revolution of the DS itself?

Huh? First off, who cares, and secondly, who cares?
Hey Megohulk, does that answer your question? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

ack!!

my theory was flawed from the very beginning!
ya about NASA - JLP is also working on anti-grav and electro-magnetic propulsion as well. Unfortunately, the combination of oil and motor car corporate oligopolies, and conservative liberal politics is preventing the technology being fully exploited.

then again...

would you trust someone flying around in maglev car? Or the gravity generator built by the company with the lowest bid and using cut price components? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif :dunce:

What the F?

No offense but this may be the most meaningless thread that I have ever had the opportunity to view.

I disagree Dbl Dwn dude. It's a scientific question that is interesting at least to some of those who wonder about the science of Star Wars.

And trust me, when you're a mod you shudder when some young newbie starts a thread on who likes the color of Han's shoes or some junk like that. It is a good bet that if there was or is a SW technical book like the Star Trek Techical Manual, a section is devoted to how artificial gravity works on starships and the Death Star. The subject is meaningful to some people at least. And being one who wanted to know how anti-grav repulsors worked to repel gravity in the SW storyline, I myself have links to dozens of pages dealing with the properties of gravity to try to understand gravity and antigravity. So I think it's a good subject. Ya know, dude? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

The lowest bidding company would send costs plummeting, but I would shudder to be under the anti-grav car when it too went plummeting.
