Anti-crap, I spent the whole day at the University debating and Hannah's and my team won two out of three of our debates. Anti-crap, I think I did really well as third speaker: loud, clear and perfectly aggressive with a hint of sarcasm thrown in on the side.

And we learnt so much! We learnt to structure our rebuttals for maximum efficiency so we applied this both to our rebuttals and arguments and I think that won us those two debates. (Our rebuttal structure...or lack of one...was the only thing that lost us the first debate).

I can say, though, now that I prefer a debate where one gets one hour to prepare a whole speech (impromptu) rather than a whole week (planned).

This one was planned. In fact, there were three topics and we had to write two speeches for each, affirmative and negative because we didn't know what side we'd be on.
