I ordered the NWA-TNA ppv last night. Pretty good, it was worth the money.

The tag titles match was dedicated to Chris Candido because he actually managed the champions from December up until his death (his entire tenure with the company). They finally won the titles on a taping 2 days prior to his death.

Jeff Jarrett finally jobbed, after 11 1/2 months as champion.

The new champion is AJ Styles. He's absolutely phenomenal. I'll see if I can upload a video to show you guys some of his stuff.

Another pretty good Raw, Vince making fun of Randy Orton's hair cut was really funny and it was cool to get some more info on the draft. The lingerie match between Candice Michelle and Christy Hemme was really good and Lita and Stacy looked hot, as usual.

Of course Benoit and Angle would be a much better match. But I think that Benoit and JBL, given the right circumstances, could pull off a great match.

BTW, last night there was an "ECW" show in Philly at the old ECW Arena(it's now called the Viking Hall because WWE owns the name ECW, and the show wan't officially "ECW" for the same reason.). It was called "Hardcore Homecoming". Here are the results:

Hardcore Homecoming Results - 6/10/05
Location: Philadelphia, PA

- Ring announcer Bob Artese and timekeeper Rocky Musciano came out to officially start the show. Tod Gordon was introduced and he thanked the fans and the workers in the back.

- Joey Styles & Don "Cyrus" Callis came to the ring at this point. Styles did the classic "Oh my god" line on the mic. When Styles went to speak a bit more, he was cut off by the sounds of Joel Gertner doing his famous "Well, well, well" line. Gertner introduced himself and did another classic sexual innuendo introduction that everyone loves. Cyrus was spotted smiling througout the segment and told Gertner he will do his best to stay in character. He then called Gertner fat and pathetic and Gertner attacked Cyrus. Both were broken up and Styles raised Gertner's arm in the air to kick off the show.

- Mikey Whipwreck & Chris Chetti defeated Simon Diamond & CW Anderson. Whipwreck pinned Diamond for the win following a Whippersnapper.

- Tracy Smothers w/ J.T. Smith defeated The Blue Meanie. In a funny moment during the match, Smothers challenged Meanie to a Dance Off. Smothers danced first to "Stayin' Alive", while Meanie did his classic dance to the BWO theme. Smothers pinned Meanie for the win after J.T. Smith nailed Meanie with brass knucks.

- Bob Artese then talked about the wrestlers who use to entertain fans in the same building who have sinced passed on. Images of Louie Spicolli, Road Warrior Hawk, Rocco Rock, Big Dick Dudley, Pitbull #2, Eddie Gilbert and Chris Candido were all shown. Johnny Grunge, Pitbull Gary Wolfe and Tammy Sytch all came out. The fans showed their respect to Rocco Rock and Chris Candido. Grunge thanked the fans for letting his dream come true and Sytch said everyone who was watching "on the monitor in the sky" had the best times of their lives in this same building.

- Roadkill & Danny Doring then came out. Both got into a brawl with Wolfe and Grunge. Tammy Sytch left while Roadkill set up a table in the ring. Sytch returned with 911. 911 chokeslammed Doring and Roadkill. Grunge put Roadkill on top of the table and hit a big elbow off the top, crashing Roadkill through the table. Sytch celebrated with 911, doing the Candido strut and held up the Triple Threat sign.

- 2 Cold Scorpio defeated Kid Kash. Scorpio pinned Kash for the win after a powerbomb and 450 splash.

- John Kronus came to the ring and Bob Artese announced how The Eliminators were scheduled to have an open challenge tonight, but couldn't due to Perry Saturn suffering a broken neck. Kronus stood behind the challenge and both Axl Rotten & Ian Rotten came out. They attacked Kronus, with Ian dropkicking a chair into Kronus' face. New Jack then hit the ring and attacked Axl & Ian with various weapons including a chain and garden shovel. A big bloody brawl ensued between all four men. New Jack put Ian through a table after jumping off a scaffold. Jack & Kronus celebrated followed by Jack getting on the mic, thanking the fans and mentioned the "other" show on Sunday. A big "Fu*k you Vince" chant started up. Jack said if he died, he could die proud because he came back home.

- After the intermission, ring announcer Stephen DeAngelis came out to start the rest of the show.

- Jerry Lynn defeated Justin Credible w/ Jason. Lynn pinned Credible for the win after a cradle tombstone. Was said to have been a great match.

- Raven defeated The Sandman. Raven pinned Sandman when Donn E. Allen hit the ring and took out Sandman. Mikey Whipwreck came out and took out Allen, only to turn heel on Sandman and give him a Whippersnapper. Raven covered soon afterwards for the pinfall.

- Sabu won the Three Way Dance Main Event. The match was changed to an unadvertised barbed wire match. There was some problems at first with the Pennsylvania commission as barbed wire matches are illegal in the state. Worked barbed wire was used instead.

Shane Douglas, with Francine, cut a promo before the match thanking the fans and that the man who owns the rights to ECW could "kiss our hardcore asses." Sabu made his entrance next with Bill Alfonso. Terry Funk entered last and was accompanied by Tammy Sytch.

Shane Douglas was eliminated first when he brought a ladder into the ring, set it up in the corner, but the lights went out. When the lights came back on, Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack) appeared. The building went nuts. Foley gave Douglas the mandible claw with Mr. Socko, which got boo's from the crowd. Foley wrapped Mr. Socko in barbed wire and then gave Douglas a double arm DDT that got the fans cheering. Sabu then pinned and eliminated Terry Funk after an Arabian Facebuster off a steel chair.

- During the close of the show, the entire locker room came out and circled the ring as Sabu, Foley and Alfonso helped Funk to his feet. Funk was giving a big ovation. Shane Douglas came out, gave a bow and returned to the back. A final and loud "ECW" chant took place as Funk and the rest of the workers walked off to the back.

After the show all the workers signed autographs for the fans. And they auctioned off the old "ECW Arena" sign that used to hang on the building for 800 dollars.

Nobody will be able to get spoilers from Raw. Last week up until Jericho was on his way to the ring, Cena stayed in his car. There will be no leaks this week.

Smackdown is, of course, different because it's taped on Tuesday.

BTW, One Night Stand was phenomenal.

"Lionheart" Chris Jericho vs. Lance Storm was a damn good opener.

Super Crazy's moonsault from the balcony was crazy.

Sabu vs. Rhyno was great. My favorite match because I'm a huge Sabu mark.

RVD's shoot promo was also badass.

"Fonzie, tell these people what 4:20 means."

"4:20 mean I just smoked yo ass."

Tanaka-Awesome was EXTREME. It was really (no pun intended) awesome. I loved that Joey Styles was shooting on Awesome the whole time.

"Suicide Dive by Mike Awesome. It's a shame he didn't kill himself."

Paul Heyman's shoot promo was also absolutely amazing. Here are some highlights.

"MATT-FRICKIN'-HARDY"

"JBL the only reason you were champ for a year is because Triple-H didn't want to work Tuesdays"

Then the main event was amazing. Sandman entered through the crowd to (you guessed it) Metallica's "Enter Sandman", as the entire arena sang along. Before the match could get under way the BWO "took over" and Sandman got Steviekicked. Then everybody came out, Kid Kash did a sick Plancha to the floor.

The entire match was hardcore, Tommy Dreamer bled buckets. There was a cheesegrater. It was insane. Then "The Queen of Extreme" Francine made a SHOCKING visit and started to beat up Tommy. So, out comes Beulah, to save him and hit the worst DDT ever on Bubba Ray. It was great. Then Tommy, covered in blood, gave Beulah a big hug.

In the end Spike came out, Bubba Ray set up the table , D-Von poured the gasoline on it and we got flaming tables. The match ended with Dreamer going through a flaming table. The Dudleys went after Beulah, but Sandman saved the day, and then started screaming for a beer.

GLASS SHATTERS

Out comes Steve Austin, and he gets all the "Crusaders" to come down and get their asses kicked, by the entire ECW locker room. Then Taz comes out for the Tazmission on Angle. Show ends with Sandman and Austin drinking beer.

I'll definitely be getting this show when it comes out. Anybody who wants to know eher you can buy "Hardcore Homecoming", as soon as it comes out I will post a link to where you can buy it either by phone or online. It won't be available in stores.

Oh man. I marked out so hard when I heard his msuic. That was one cruel joke.

Anyway, I'm gonna give some predictions on who I think will be drafted to Smackdown tonight. this is pure speculation, since the tapings haven't happened yet.

Muhammad Hassan- His character has pretty much run it's course on Raw since he's know longer "undefeated". They could move him to Smackdown and give him a fresh start.

Eugene- The little kids would love to see Eugene and Heidenreich become friends.

Trish Stratus- Moving the womens title would spice things up a bit.

Next week, I predict that Chris Jericho will move to Smackdown because Carlito is on Raw now, and Raw doesn't need two interview shows.

This was the only oppurtunity he ever got to be in a good match. All of his other matches have been short ones or squashes, and the one he had in his debut against John Cena. I've heard (from his time in Puerto Rico working for his father's promotion) that he's a good worker. Hopefully he gets a chance to show that.

They've been advertising that match for every Raw and Smackdown since the draft started. It's not going to be a TV match, it will be a post-show dark match.

this is a bit off the current topics but i just need to vent, sorry guys:

Wow, fire the Dudleys, trade one of the Bashams to Raw, and one of La' Restistance to Smackdown, give the WWE Tag Titles to a brand new team during their first televised match together(MNM) and give the World Tag Titles to Hurricane/Rosey ..WWE really is killing the tag division...

....and they fire people who don't deserve it(like Matt Hardy, who was screwed over by his girlfriend and friend and lost his job for it.) and they continue to reward people who don't deserve it (like Brock, who they are about to resign. He turned his back on the company for his joke of a football career, and watch, I bet he'll recieve a heavy push again like his first stint, even after what he did.)

I guarantee HHH(I like the guy, but it's time for some other top heels to move to the top) will hold the world heavyweight championship, ooops, I'm sorry, the WWE Championship again in the near future(or at least in time for him to headline WM22)

not only that, but they've turned Y2J, Eddie Guerrero and HBK to heels...I looked at both rosters...loaded with top name heels, and only a few top name faces...they need to turn a few of the current heels or move up some of the mid-carders or something...how can you have a good amount of decent feuds without some sort of a balance?

Things are not looking up currently for wrestling in my opinion.

I don't know, I used to be a huge wrestling fan, but my interest is suddenly going down...hopefully things will turn around....anybody agree with me at at about any of this?

They have been shifting their attention alright. Gone are the days of the early to mid 80's when wrestling (NWA and WWF) we at its best.

Now all they seem to care about is the sex. I don't have anything against sex but there is a time and place....not on a wrassling show.

Matt Hardy was f*cking awesome. The reason that segment went down the way it did is because Matt Hardy (as has been mentioned in this thread) has real-life heat with Adam Copeland (Edge) and Amy Dumas(Lita).

The "We want Matt" chants have been so loud the last few months that Vince knew Matt was (pun intended) Money in the Bank if he had a feud with Edge. So recently Matt re-signed with the WWE. During that time he was asking his fans what they think he should do. Re-sign with WWE or work the indies.

Last week he said that he didn't re-sign with the WWE and the appearance on Raw was even more unexpected. Now he'll probably play a loose-cannon type gimmick and we won't know what happens next. WWE is trying to make this look real. But at this point it's a work.

But he did get a little promo in there for an indy fed as he was being tackled.

"Come see me at Ring of Honor. ROH"

He'll be appearing for ROH this saturday in Connecticut. He'll be in Dayton on 8/12, and Chicago on 8/13.

If any of you live in the area I'd strongly recommend going to see these shows. Especially those of you who are sick of diva searches and just want to watch wrestling.

WTF? Is WWE mad? That's, like the only refferee I know about, besides the skinny, tall, blond kid on Smack Down! That guy's a legend, WTF? The WWE is really screwing up here, first of all, the tag team matches are lame, I don't know why they got rid of Rey and Eddie, they were really the only reason i watched Smack Down, and they lose to MNM? What the hell is that? Who are the writers? Sometimes you just want to sit them down and talk to them. By the way, that Rey and Eddie story line is the only story line on Smack Down, it's not a very good one either. Also, the only reason I watch RAW right now is because of Matt Hardy. And I don't like Edge, so I don't mind Kane kicking him in his funny looking face.

Smackdown Spoilers and Live Report:

Dark Match:

Nunzio & Big Vito d. TNT- This match was decent, nothing special.

Velocity Tapings(7/23):

MNM d. Danny Doring and Roadkill- Decent Match, MNM hot the snapshot on Danny Doring for the win.

Frankie Kazarian d. Scotty 2 Hotty- This was a really good velocity match. There was good wrestling, and psychology with Kazarian really working on Scotty's arm and shoulder. Scotty did a good job selling up until he hulked up at the end.

The Blue World Order d. Nick Berk, Jason Static & Scott Folwer (aka jobbers)- Before the match, Richards said that this is just a sample of what they would do to the Mexicools at the Great American Bash. This match was really boring. Up until the end which saw Nova come in and hulk up, GOLD. The Meanie hit a moonsault for the win.

Christian d. Funaki- This match was also pretty good. I marked out for Christian, and beat the hell out of my chest. I'm kind of disappointed Christian was on Velocity. Anyway Christian had a huge pop, for a midcard heel.

Smackdown Tapings(7/21):

- Show opened with an announcement that JBL would be giving his victory speech for Sunday's GAB. I laughed at this, JBL is great. the whole night, me, these 3 guys in front of me, and some guys with a JBL is God sign were battling everybody that could hear us with dueling chants. It was fun.

- Rey Mysterio d. Super Crazy via DQ- This match really didn't do it for me. There were some cool spots but there was really no fluidity to the match. Mexicools came out on there Juan Deere's, which was funny. Eddie came out for commentary halfway through. (I could make a joke about Eddie, Rey, and the Mexicools all being in the ring at the same time, but I choose not to.) The match ended when Rey was about to go for the 619 and Eddie jumped in an broke a rake on his back.

- The first of several great JBL video packages came on. It compared JBL to another Great American George Washington.

- Backstage Teddy told Eddie he had a match against a secret opponent tight.

- Backstage, Josh Mathews interviewed Christian. This was really funny, Christian kept referring to Matthews as Ryan Seacrest, and said if he wanted proof that Christian was the only man in recent memory to main-event Raw and Smackdown in the same week, he should go back to his parents house, go to the basement, (he has his own room now), get online, close the "Tan Men of the Mediteranean" page, and go on a wrestling site. Seacrest Out.

- Backstage, Heidenreich read a poem to Animal. Animal said Heidenreich was more like Hawk then he realized.

- Another Great American video aired featuring JBL and Neil Armstrong. GOLD.

- Animal & Heidenreich d. Julio Dinero & Nick Berk (Nick was the first of a few to pull double duty tonight)- Match lasted about 5 seconds. Heidenreich tossed one of the guys out of the ring, then they hit the Doomsday device for the win.

- Chris Benoit d. Eddie Guerrero via countout. This was a good match. Started slow, but it really turned out good. My favorite part was when Eddie went to the top rope. Benoit cut him off and hit two headbutts (busting himself open), and then hit a pretty sick superplex. Rey attacked Eddie after he was counted out.

- Video package for Taker-Hassan.

- Candice came out and said that GAB would be available to all the troops for free. Melina interrupted her and said that she heard Candice would be the referee of her match on Sunday. Melina then beat Candice down, she hit a pretty stiff forearm when they were on the ground. She stripped Candice down before Torrie came out for the save.

- Great American video featuring JBL and Martin Luther King. At this point I was ROTF.

- Booker T d. Simon Dean (2nd man to pull double duty). Nothing of interest from the match but Simon Dean had the Line of the Night:

"Booker, I respect you. But I don't respect your wife. That's because she doesn't go the buffet line once, she doesn't go to the buffet line twice, she goes 5 times, 5 times, 5 times"

LMAO

- Great American Video package featuring JBL and Ronald Reagan. This never got old, they should continue next week.

- Up next was JBL's Victory Speech. OJ came out first to introduce him. JBL came out in a convertible, sitting on top dressed as Uncle Sam. I can not describe how funny this was. There was red, white, and blue confetti all over the place. JBL started talking about how he is the man on Smackdown. Then he showed this months Smackdown magazine cover, featuring Batista. JBL the unveiled next months cover, which was a picture of him standing over Batista with the belt on a US Flag background.

JBL started talking about other countries saying they hate America because we have money and we give it to them. Kids are starving in Africa, U.S gives them a handout. Asia was hit with a tsunami "Oh you had a bad storm, here's a handout". Then he said the reason the fans all hate him is because he's rich and we're poor. The other JBL fans and myself were clapping and cheering, while everybody else booed.

Finally, Batista came out. He had some decent mic work, but he got stale near the end. My favorite line from the segment was:

"Do you realize how ridiculous you look in that"

Batista and JBL exchanged a few punches, and JBL ran off. Batista hit OJ with a spinebuster, and posed in the Uncle Sam hat to end the show.

Post-Show Dark Match:

Batista, Rey Mysterio, and The Undertaker d. JBL, Triple H, and Eddie (Eddie and Rey are the 3rd and 4th to pull double duty)- There was a lot of comedy here. When Rey was beating up Eddie, Eddie ran over and grabbed Triple H. Rey slammed Eddie's head into Hunters crotch. Then they did the same with JBL.

Another funny moment was when Rey was on the ground and Hunter went to the top and jumped off. Rey got his feet up and hit Hunter on the chin. Trips backed up into the corner with his head tilted back and stood like that for a full minute. Then he started to walk, and did a perfect Flair Flop.

The ending saw JBL and Eddie leave Triple H, who was surrounded by the faces. Rey hit the 619, Batista hit a spinebuster, and Undertaker tombstoned Trips for the win.

Notes:

-This might have been the best show I ever attended. There were good matches, although most of them had bad finishes. The promos and video packages were great, and the crowd was hot all night.

Biggest pops:
1. Batista- HUGE POP
2. Triple H- No kidding
3. Rey Mysterio
4. Undertaker
5. Christian - no kidding

Most Heat:
1. JBL
2. Eddie Guerrero
3. Muhhamad Hassan ( he didn't appear, but he was shown in a video)
4. Simon Dean

Line of the Night:

"Booker, I respect you. But I don't respect your wife. That's because she doesn't go the buffet line once, she doesn't go to the buffet line twice, she goes 5 times, 5 times, 5 times"

I don't know who all remembers him (I barely do myself), an old school WWE star has died. From WWE.com:

LORD ALFRED HAYES
1928 – 2005

WWE lost a beloved member of its family on Wednesday when Lord Alfred Hayes passed away at the age of 76.

Hayes joined World Wrestling Entertainment in the early 1980s and soon became a television mainstay. His wit, distinctive accent and colorful insights helped make Hayes one of his time’s most remembered personalities. Hayes provided commentary for the WrestleMania 2 main event, pitting Hulk Hogan against King Kong Bundy, but he was perhaps best known as the broadcast partner on such programs as The Bobby Heenan Show and Tuesday Night Titans, alongside Vince McMahon. An accomplished wrestler himself, Hayes also managed such Superstars as WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter.

His voice, which graces countless video releases and matches, has become synonymous with 1980s WWE, and his contributions were integral to the company’s success during that time.

"His Lordship" will be greatly missed.

I don't know if anybody caught this on WWE.com:

WWE Statement Concerning Muhammad Hassan

Due to the unfortunate terrorist attacks in London on Thursday, July 7, which coincided with our pre-produced WWE SmackDown! program, UPN has asked us to be sensitive to the usage of the Arab-American character, Muhammad Hassan. We have agreed with UPN, and have not had the character on SmackDown! since that date. It is uncertain as to whether or not the WWE will continue with this character beyond this Sunday’s Pay-Per-View, The Great American Bash.

Breaking News: Chris Jericho Announces WWE Departure
Date Added: August 26, 2005
Story By: Ryan Clark
From Jericho's official website:

"I eventually had my first match on Oct 2, 1990 in Ponoka, Alberta….and on August 22, 2005 in Hampton, Virginia, I had my last match. For now. Yes it’s true. After months of speculation and rumors and numerous decoys and red herrings being thrown about, the official news from the boss man (me) is that I am leaving the WWE." Jericho noted that after wrestling for 15 years, he was mentally burnt out and that he is a "goal oriented person who thrives on a challenge and I’m not challenged by wrestling at this point in time," noting that he has accomplished everything he ever wanted to do in the business.

I hate Batista, at least John Cena interacts with the fans. I like Rey a lot more, I think he should beat Batista for the title.
