I hope that after NJO ends in 2003 and Episode III comes out in 2005 that Del Rey/Lucasbooks(if their lisence is renewed) will publish novels about exploring the Unknown Regions and other galaxies. Possibly an ongoing series of novels about the UR possibly post-NJO with Ben Skywalker and the Solo twins and the New Jedi Order having adventures in the UR/Wild Space or having adventures in other galaxies or maybe the remote descendants of the Skywalkers/Solos having adventures in the UR and other galaxies or maybe a few
novels about Thrawn's early adventures in the UR fighting those barbaric threats that were mentioned in VOTF.

I know that Luke,Mara and Jacen will head for the UR in Force Herectic I:Remnant to find Zonama Sekot. But I hope that there will be more stories set in the UR in the future perhaps Zahn's upcoming novels will be set in the UR especially his Outbound Flight Project novel since the ship passed through the UR and Thrawn destroyed it. And then there's Zahn's Luke and Mara NJO prequel novel. Will they have an adventure in the UR prior to the one they will have in Remnant since Luke said to Mara that is where their future would be and Mara suggested that they should send probe ships into the UR in VOTF.
We may learn how Mara got her disease in Zahn's NJO
prequel.

Stories set in the UR and other galaxies will be a major advancement in SW publishing since were running out of ideas and places for the SW galaxy especially the Outer Rim and the Core Worlds. It's time to move on to other areas and galaxies. And I don't think SW will turn into Star Trek. NJO changed the face of SW. UR stories will change it even more. It will open up new dangers, feature new enemies and feature new worlds and species.

Sounds good, but I have one thing to say to you, There can be only one!!!!!!!

See, the problem would be, do we (I'm being LFL/LL for a moment) publish books during the Prequel era, which more and more people are interested in because we're making movies in that era now and it's a sure profit OR do we publish novels that focus entirely on characters that have never been in the movies, that the people who've seen the movies and want to move on to the book for the first time have never heard of, and that would probably be just rehashing stuff from previous books and/or other sci-fi series?

If forced with that decision, they're gonna dump (or at least put on the back burner) whatever post-Movies era stuff that's planned in order to get more first-time EU readers interested.

I like the idea of some such stories, but what exactly do you think they would do? Would LB do another NJO-like series (doubtful; they'll have just finished the NJO), will they do a young adult's series if they go with the Ben Skywalker thing (we'd have to advance another 10-12 years after the NJO if that were to happen), or would it be a duology or trilogy of novels?

There's a lot that LFL/LL/LB (and we, as the EU fans) have to consider when we look at these ideas. I personally wouldn't mind seeing some books involving the Chiss and the Unknown Regions, but not on a terribly grand scale; we don't need something like that that quickly after NJO.

Just my thoughts.

Hmmmm, what I'd really like to see if the Jedi going into the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy.

Zennoma Sekot, as far as I remember from the travesty that was Rogue Planet, was still in the Star Wars galaxy, per se, and just in an unexplored region. It's going to be interesting to see how it's explored again. I'm just hoping there's no pointless references to Anakin and Obi-Wan in it.

I'm not a huge Chiss fan, though I'd like to see more of Thrawn, the original EU baddie. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Thrawn's adventures in the Unknown Regions would be awesome. Also, regarding Zonama Sekot, here's some spoiler text for the Force Heretic series:

</td></tr><tr><td bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="middle" align="left"><font color="#ffffff" size="1">According to sources, some of the Jedi (including Jacen and Jaina) will be searching for Zonama Sekot... and in the Unknown Regions, I believe! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif</td></tr></table>

There we go. Peace! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I think it will happen. Many fan fiction writers (including me) love exploring the Unknown Regions, and I'm sure, once Lucas gives the okay, the authors will be having a ball.

They should publish books about Luke Skywalker and his life on Tattoine before he left with Ben.

They should also publish books about Vader tracking down all the Jedi and murdering them (if it is not shown in Episode III).

I hope they make a Clone Wars novel series, featuring a different Jedi General in each book, especially General Kenobi and his young padawan.

I would also like a series of novels based on the purge, and the previous battles between the Rebellion and the Empire that took place before ANH.

Also, I would like someone to finally step in and make some novels set after ROTJ, that do know run with the continuity of Zahn's novels, or NJO, something totally different, with completely differect characters.

WHat they have done with the Sith era has been crap, it really has not been all that good. Me and a friend are writing our own version of the Sith Era, and I think it's really good, I'll post it in Coruscant theater when I get a chance. At any rate, they need to do a series of novels showing the histories of the Sith and the Jedi, and how the republic came to be.

Bond, I actually enjoyed some of the stories from the Sith Wars era. The tales of Ulic Qel-Droma, Nomi Sunrider and Exar Kun are fascinating accounts. I didn't like the stuff that took place a thousand years before then as much, but they weren't that bad.

The Jedi vs. Sith series could have been better; did we really need a comic in which a bunch of little fourth graders, it seemed, were the heroes/villains/somewhere in between? Darth Bane, Master Hoth, and some of the other older Jedi and Sith were quite well done.

I still would like to see what you'd do with these eras, but I personally like them just fine. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I'll tell you this much, it will be completely different, not even the same characters, except Darth Bane at the end.

But the people I've showed it to really like it, as do I, my friends ideas are quite brilliant.

Correction James T. I do like some of the Sith Era (it's mostly the "The Golden Age of the Sith" that I do not like), but for the most part I do not think it was that good, mostly because it was made before the details of the Jedi and the Sith were even written, and really, they still haven't, episode 3 awaits.

To a certain extent I feel that the PT contridicts the EU, especially the Sith Era, in that Palpatine states that the Republic was 1000 years old, that also contridicts what Ben said.

I am really not happy with the lack of continuity, and my gole is to bring more clarification to it all, especially the origins of the Jedi and the Sith, which are still a mystery.

I have to agree.

I loved the whole saga with Naga Sadow, Exar Kin, Feedon Nadd, Ulic and Cay Qel Droma, Arca and Nomi Sunrider. The characters were interesting, and flawed. The only part I didn't really like was Redemption. Spoiler

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td bgcolor="#000000" valign="middle" align="left"><font color="#000000" size="1">Spoiler (Highlight to Read):</font>
</td></tr><tr><td bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="middle" align="left"><font color="#ffffff" size="1">Ulic getting killed by the Jedi-Fan was too easy and even though he became one with the Force, it was a tad anti-climactic.</td></tr></table>

The Jedi Vs Sith while well drawn, I do kinda like the style, barely had a story and the whole Darth Bane thing was, frankly, dull.

I'd like to see more from this era, maybe the formation of the Jedi and the Sith, and more in the life of Nomi Sunrider.

that would be interesting, since if they dont know everything about the known regions just think of what could happen in the UR
