In TPM, Ani has an American Accent.
In AOTC it's still American.
Vader carries this through Ep 4-6 until the last scene he's in.
Where he has an English Accent...?

Did I miss something?

Has anyone heard a reason for this before?

Cheers,
Tris...

Star Wars Explanation.

Vocal cords damaged when he becomes Vader.

Simple explanation.

Jake Llyod is American.
Hayden Christiansen is Canadian.
Sebastian Shaw is British.

One simple addition:
James Earl Jones, Vaderīs voice, carries an American accent.

Luvinna.

I had always thought Vader spoke with a slight British accent. Maybe call it Bostonian, or east coast American. ??? And I thought I heard a few words spoken by Anakin with a slight British accent in AOTC. I just dismissed the accent change as relating to the fact that Anakin spends 30 plus years hanging around all these people with British accents. He's liable to pick up on it, even if just a little.

The damaged vocal cords is one I hadn't thought of before. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/scratchchin.gif

I'm thinking that they might change the scene in ROTJ with Hayden Christensen replacing Sebastian Shaw, the guy looks nothing like Mark Hamill or Christensen.

How would replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen be disrespectful to a person that only exsists in the movies?

I'd much rather look like him, than have those big bushy eyebrows.

Anybody ever heard that Hayden and Ewan singed on for more movies than the prequels?

I agree TK, Lets leave it as it is.

Anybody ever heard that Hayden and Ewan singed on for more movies than the prequels?

No - I think people are jumping on the Natalie Portman
bandwagon.

I'm not sure why replacing Shaw with Christianson would be such a bad thing. I agree with Bond on this. Continuity should count for something, and I never liked seeing Shaw in that scene. And it wouldn't be very difficult to pull off either. You never see Shaw's face at the same time as Hamill's, anyway, so simply refilming Anakin's lines with Christiansan would be a piece of cake.

I'm looking forward to another new Anakin. The last one was not up to par.

You didn't like Hayden Christiansan's performance, I gather. At first, I wasn't thrilled, either, but upon a second viewing, I realized how good a job he actually did. It was Portman's performance that was pretty awful, IMO. But were way off topic now, aren't we?
