There is probably another topic about this but i just wanna know. What happened to Kenobis lightsaber when he died, all i saw was it falling to the ground. Did it go with the death star?, did Vader pick it up?

Don't know for sure, but it probably just went with the DS. Lightsabers seem to be a dime a dozen (at least in the PT), so Vader probably didn't have any interest in keeping it.

there's a new jedi order book that includes Anakin Solo finding Obi Wan's light saber... can't remember which one
Oh gosh. Relying on the EU again, are we?

####ing hell! Is there any minor part of the films that the EU hasn't made a book about?

I agree that people shouldn't rely on the Expanded Universe to contemplate some parts of the story in the OT or the PT. I'm guessing that's why most people don't care too much for the EU, but for the most part... I've found the Expanded Universe to be vastly entertaining. It offers some incite from other people and adds something new to the original story. I'm very grateful for the EU, despite some lack of continuity.

darthfool: Watch the language, even censored.
quigonwindu: The fate of Kenobi's saber is covered in the book Junior Jedi Knights: Kenobi's Blade by Rebecca Moesta. You can find a summary of it on the SWT-G (http://www.starwarz.com/timeline/).

Anakin Solo: Seriously, take time to read the previous posts before posting a response to the first post. That question was already answered with the same info you just gave, only in more detail.
It's a good spirit for a poster to try to help out, but read the previous posts first to determine if something's been asked and answered already.

My problem is that if Vader had just killed Obi-Wan, and they believed Obi-Wan to be the last of the Jedi, and Vader is not yet aware that he has children.........what is his motivation for taking the lightsaber at all?

You've never heard of someone taking a trophy after a kill?
In Vietnam, U.S. soldiers wore the ears of their kills around their necks at times. In WWII, U.S. soldiers sent the same home to their families, bringing some proud mothers to staple them to their front doors. War's pretty gruesome, and that urge to carry a trophy of one's major kills is as much a part of the SW mythos as it is in the modern society it tries to, at times, reflect.

I'm well aware of the rituals of US Military when in the heat of a war and I never thought of it that way in Star Wars. I always assumed that the Empire would be too vain and too certain of themselves that they would need to obtain soveneirs (that's not spelled right) of their victories in order to remind them that they were the better. I imagined that they would have thought that anyway regardless.

I dont believe it wouldve been a trophy for the Empire as such but more a trophy for Vader as he has slain his master at long last.
