I only really have one star wars piece.
it started as just a tattoo design for a buddy then I decided to go ahead and paint it with watercolors.

If you want to see good watercolor look at all of alex ross' work. Its amazing and all watercolor. Well its actualy gouche but thats just a fancy watercolor.

Actualy, I use gouache and it's nothing like water color. The pigments formula is all different... if you water down gouache and paint transperantly, it can look like water color, but it handles WAY different. Personally, I love working opaque, so gouache is deffinately the prized medium for vibrancey and efficiancy. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Im using good ol fashion watercolor on this piece. Suprisingly its not as transparent as you would think. I was pretty impressed. The hardest part is the gray. You just have to water down the black alot. Its pretty hard to keep consistant but so far ive done alright. Ill post my progress again soon.

im gonna get an airbrush to do some final details on it. Like the glare around the lights and lightsabers. There is also some smoke I couldnt do without an airbrush. Here is my reference pic that I used to you guys can compare. I was pretty off with my proportion and that kinda bummed me out but overall I like the way it turned out.

thats pretty good. I recommend tightening up your lines to make it look less sketchy. Then it will go from good to great.

about the ninth kemp manet (shadows past in the fan fiction section) sketch I have done. This time he is inspired by the samauri from the last samauri. I figured since he was a bounty hunter he needed some sort of armor he got off a someone he has killed. This time I chose a stormtrooper. Shoulder caps and the chest & stomach pieces. Once I finish it im going to color it and hopefully I can get a feel for it. 3GF if you see this let me know what you think of it.

Hey Matt, Tom Hodges here. I been looking at your stuff and I can make a few suggestions for you...
The stuff from photos is great. The Luke and Vader looks wonderful, good job.
The orginal stuff needs work, but there is definitely promise in it. I suggest if you decided to pursue this, you should take life drawing classes. Your anatomy is off a bit, and the posing is somewhat flat. I suggest "Dynamic Anatomy". It's a great help with posing and anatomy. I also suggest maybe working with a model of some sort or working from photos for the posing only.
Also, look how clothing sits on a person. I use to have a friend up on a big bathrobe and hold a stick to draw Jedi. I once even put Tinfoil on a friends face to draw Colosus of the X-Men to make sure I got the right highlights on the chrome face...
Be creative and keep going. You have potential. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
Hope that helps.
