european star wars exclusives

being based in good ole Blighty - we here are underwhelmed with new Star Wars stuff... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

and what we do get in terms of figures is basically ruined by trilogo's or stickers over the back of USA packaging to satisfy UK & European laws...

so i try and collect as much US (& occasionally Japanese) stuff as possible because we never see this stuff here, but i was wondering if you US based guys collect much of the European stuff we have?

A lot of the Episode II figures here came with Leaflets inside - a bit like the THX leaflets on the original Long Sabre figures in 95...they are not particulary that collectable but...wondered what the hardcore figure collectors thought of these?

we also do get different drinks promotions, magazine covers, crisp promos (Lays are Walkers over here for example...)

i know its kinda hard collecting US stuff but whats yer view on the Euro branded bits we have?

Well, I had someone try and pic me up and maintain my "Fact files" colleciton which to my knowladge is UK only.... however, they bailed, and rightfully. It's way to hard to keep up as a weekly thing, and I couldn't pay them (the pound is very mighty to the Dollar! Especially the Canadian dollar!)

Those files are AWSOME though, and I still want to get my hands on the one dedicated to obi-wan! (I think they had an ep 1 dedicaiton which I think I have, and the ep 2 one I don't!)

I also have the "Wizard" sticker book of the first movie that I collected loyaly when I was in Israel.
I also have the AWSOME "Empire" mag for ep 1, and I got the German mag that had some really wicked images too! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Funny, but when I lived in Israel, I tried like hell to collect everything that was available... I even had some of my obi-wan fanart and an e-mail defending him printed in the official UK SW mag! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

cool - i've probably got that issue...

i started those fact files, but it was a really expensive thing to collect weekly...as there really was no end to the series...and you had to subscirbe after 10 issues...they weren't available in the shops...

i have about 1-20 - which equates to £40 - so the whole lot ends up as an oulay of over £200, i reckon...as a collection it is good, but its not as good really as the Star Wars Chronicles book which is better presented overall and only amounts to £60-£100 when bought new...and is as comprehensive...although can't be added to....

i have tried to pick up the odd files now and again but i'd sorta given up...i have the starter folder which is nice...

well - i'd like to be an aide to people looking for Euopean stuff for episode III, as and when stuff comes out...when i get teh chance i'll try and dig out any european exclusives i have and let people know what i have to trade....

You know, that would be awosome! I'm all for tradin' stuff... especially great obi/jedi/creature stuff!
I'll also post Canadian exclusives.. right now, I have numerous 3 card sets from when ep 2 came out.. one card is from ep 1 (obi/qui Vs. Maul), ep 2 (obi vs. jango) and ep 4 (obi vs. vader) and they are those coold movable ones.... you kow, like you tilt them one way to another and it looks as if there is some aciton going on. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
