I was curious if anyone out there pays for a website to be a special member? I know some people in here pay for www.starwars.com, so say so. But I'm more curious about other web sites. I know I was thinking about paying for www.gamespot.com since its a great online gaming site.

I pay for Hyperspace with a skip in my step and a song in my heart cause hyperspace r0x0rs! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif I'd pay for other sites as well. I'm a web developer and I know how much work, material and maintenance goes into building sites -- if the site is excellent and is valuable to you then it's worth paying for.

I just hit the freebie places. When they went to subscribing to Hyperspace as the OS, I basically stopped going there. That was a real disappointment to me, I think it was rather a slap in the face of fans to charge them for viewing a website, IMHO.

I pay for Hyperspace.

Nope, I don't pay for a single paid-access site. I've very strongly considered subscribing to Hyperspace (almost broke down and did it at Comic-Con. I was *this* close). It used to be just because I didn't think the premium content was worth it, and for some sites that is still the case.

Now it's just mostly a matter of me having to devote that money to more important things. Like rent and food and replacing my ailing computer, etc
