View Full Version : How Would You Rather Die?
Justin

If someone told you that you were going to die, and you absolutely had to choose between burning to death or freezing to death, which would you pick?
This is something I talked to someone about the other day when there was absolutely nothing else to do, and I really can't choose either, it's almost too horrible to comprehend.
Please guys, don't post stuff like "I'd rather die on the muffin" or something stupid like that. This is just about these two alternatives.

I think I'd pick freezing. Cause maybe you'd become so numb you wouldn't feel after a while. I think you'd feel burning longer. Though, I really don't know. Do I? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Freeze to death. It does hurt your body, and anybody whose been in freezing cold water knows it hurts, but burning is nightmarishly agonizing and slow.

When you burn, though, wouldnt the smoke and fumes render you unconscious first?
Whether or not that would happen, I'd rather freeze. Don't know why, but freezing just seems less violent to me.

I'd freez to death. Burning is just...oh I don't know. Freezing to death just sounds a bit better than burning to death.

Yes, it's strange to say that but I'd love to freeze. Burning must be really awful. I'm sure freezing is awful too, but it seems not as painful as burning.

I'd just like to point out that frostbite can be seriously nasty but no where neer as gruesome as burning

I have to go with freezing to death. Its not a pretty way to go but being burnt alive must be absolutely horrific and not a way I want to die at all.
Burning alive is one of my worst nightmares. Had to go with freezing to death.

I rather freeze to death cos I 've had hypothermia before and its actually quite peaceful once your extremities go numb. You just get sleepy and slowly drift away. It was quite a strange sensation and not entirely unpleasant. The weeks recovering from frostbite and pnuemonia after I didn't die was the painful bit.

I can't believe I ever made a poll like this.
Well, thank you for bringing it back up. Now I shall ridicule!
*points and laughs at Justin* *now ducks away from the fist flying toward him*
I'd say freezing. Just because you would drift off, as Flo said. Burning would just hurt much like hell.

I fail to see a difference. I once heard someone mention after he had his hand on a giant ice block that it felt like his hand was on fire.

I would pick freezing to death hands down! You would go into Hypothermic shock and then coma and most of that you would not be aware of but burning unless the smoke was very intense before the fire reached you then not so bad 'cause then you would die from the smoke inhalation and not even know it when the fire got you. I've come close to dying both ways and choking on smoke is painful and horrible and terrifying . Freezing is painful but your brain gets very groggy and you can't think very straight after a short time so your not as aware of what is happening you get very tired. The pace is less frenetic and anxiety ridden. Ok that was a pleasant place to go! LOL!

That's because he had only his hand in it. If your entire body is freezing, you either won't be able to notice the differences enough to care, or your senses will be utterly overwhelmed by the overload of pain in your system.

freeze to death because I wouldn't feel any or little pain. Your body temperature drops at an even rate until to fall asleep then into a coma and die. It's all peaceful.

Eeck. Freeze me. I hate the cold but I figure if I were knocked unconcious and froze to death in an avalanche, It'd be much preferable to the awareness I'll have of going Rotisserie Gold.

Going to have to go with the Freeze on this one. Not exactly comfortable but a lot more comfortable than the human fireball option.
