Titanic
Pearl Harbor
Batman 2-4
Superman 3-4

I could sit here and list movies for days. Those are the top 7.

Titanic and Pearl Harbor could have been great historical flicks, but they were infected by a love story.

no comments for the others, they just reaked.

How High
The Fast and the Furious
Titanic and Pearl Harbor

Those are all I can really think of... and they pretty much do suck, in my opinion. Especially that "How High" piece of garbage. It's an insult to the entire film industry.

Yeah Battlefield Earth, that movie was terrible. And to think I sat through it all the way. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unhappy.gif

Their's "They Live" with Rowdy Rody Piper, that was awful, I recently watched a movie called "Craw: The Sea Monster" only to do a sort of Mystery Science theater thing, and it was beyond the ability to make fun of, it went all the way into the absolutely retarded.

Titanic, well despite fag-boy Leo, I thought it was great, James Cameron is a genius, he's right up there with Spielberg and Lucas in my book, especially for T2 and The Abyss.

Pearl Harbor wasn't all that bad, ILM did a great job on the effects, though I hate Ben Affleck, Armageddon was pretty cool, perfect role for Bruce Willis.

Dumb and Dumber is by far one of my favorite comedies, funny. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

The Scorpion King, well it was better than Spiderman, I hated that movie, it sucked big time.

X-Men was a great superhero flick. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif

Anaconda, I wasn't dumb enough to watch it.

Anybody see the latest Highlander flick? That was stupid.

For the most part, I usually do not go to movies, unless I know I'm gonna like it.

Here's my list of the worst movies of all time:

1. All the Godzilla movies

2. Battlefield Earth

3. Craw

4. The "Planet of the Apes" sequels

5. They Live

6. Colateral Damage, that movie was so bad, I feel sorry for Arnold. He just picked the wrong movie to do.

7. What Dreams May Come

8. Superman 3

9. The Omega Code 1&2

10. Spiderman, just when I thought George Clooney as Batman was a bad idea, they go and pull this. Standing in line for this movie opening day, I was just amazed at how many of the kids in line to see it were talking about nothing but Star Wars, even during the movie!!!!!!!

The worst movie I've ever seen was that remake of Planet of the Apes. That's really the only thing that comes to my mind in the line of bad movies.

Pearl Harbor (which I've seen) and Titanic (which I haven't seen, and don't really plan to) were okay movies. Pearl Harbor is less "mushy" (I guess you could say) than Titanic from what I've heard. And you know, it was an all right movie. But I find it just horrendous that directors/writers think that such interesting things like the Titanic and Pearl Harbor need to be mixed with a love story. It's kind of insulting, I think. It's like someone making a movie about September 11th and having a story mixed in there about a man who worked at the WTC and the night before he met the woman of his life and all that crap.

The worst movie I ever watched was so bad that I don´t even remember the title.
It was made in the 80´s sometime. It was about a monster that lived in a closet.
The only way to kill it , was to destroy all closet´s in the hole wide world. I remember I thought: Is this possible?

It was so stupid that I just had to laugh my brain out when it was finished.

Another "Nightmare movie" was about a monster in a basket.
It was a ugly head with arms that lived in a basket with his brother/ twin.

Kit, how can you say "Titanic" is an ok movie when you haven't seen it??

I thought "Titanic" was actually pretty good after the first two hours, lol. The part where the ship sinks is incredible.

All "Highlander" movies after the first one (which is one of the coolest movies ever made) are absolute aberrations, and every copy of each of them should be pulverized and thrown in a molten pit.

"Spawn", "Mortal Kombat 2", the "Invaders from Mars" remake (I haven't seen the original, it's probably bad too) are movies that I wish I hadn't taken the time out of my life to see. There are a billion others.

Oh Justin, I have to agree with you on Spawn. Totally sux.

I rarely walk out of a movie or stop the VCR/DVD... I'll usually torture myself. I never made it all the way through Tank Girl, so that has to be the worst I've ever seen.

Others of note:
Independence Day
Spaceballs (I know... alot of ppl like it, but I can't stand it)
Deep Blue Sea
Anaconda
Any Jaws movie after #2
Any Alien movie after Aliens
Any Batman movie after #2
The Lost World (Jurassic Park #2) - oh, that sucked.

Fag-boy Leo? LOL Smeg... I can't stand him either. Otherwise Titanic was fine, but I never rated it as one of my top 10.

Anyway, some of the worst movies ever, in no particular order:

1. Python, starring Starship Trooper's Casper Van Dien
2. Alien 3 (not exactly a bad movie, just an absolutely terrible sequel that I feel ruined the series)
3. Mission to Mars
4. City of Angels

how come nobody likes alien three? i think it's the best of the series and one of my favorite movies. why don't people like it? because there aren't any guns? because there's only one alien? because riply dies? people that think alien 3 is the worst of the series are probably the same people that think return of the jedi is the best star wars film.

Collateral Damage - We turned it off half way through.
Jurassic Park III - Oh dear lord what was Willima H Macey thinking

The only really bad one I can think of right now is Little Nicky, it was entirely pointless and really sucked

Kit
09-07-2002, 10:25 PM
Justin,
By okay, I wasn't really bad-mouthing Titanic, but I wasn't really praising it. I was mostly remaining neutral on that vote.

Little Nicky, I didn't see, and most likely never will from all that the previews showed.

Mortal Combat (both) were horrible, no point what-so-ever.

And the ALL the Jurassic Park movies are horrible compared to the books! The only one that came to any good was the first. Granted, I love the special effects in all of those movies.

Everything made this millenium, especially:

Kit
09-07-2002, 10:33 PM
Amen! The Best were made before 1995, I know of nothing past that date that was remotely considered the best.

That's just me though....

Justin
09-07-2002, 11:51 PM
So Vader...you didn't like "A Beautiful Mind" or "Lord of the Rings"? And those were just in the last year. I'm sure there are other good movies that were made in this millenium as well.

Justin
09-07-2002, 11:54 PM
How about "Gladiator"? That was made after 1995, and it's a great film...I'm sure there are quite a few good movies that were made recently...you really shouldn't make huge blanket statements.

09-08-2002, 12:18 AM
Kit- I agree with your overall assesment Jurassic Park points.

Justin- While I don't think that "A Beautiful Mind" sucked, I must say that it might have been one of the most overrated movies of all time.

Another movie I absolutely must add is "Novocaine". It was a 2001 release, it starred Steve Martin (Inexplicably!), and Helen Bothom Carter, and was just awful!

Trilogist
09-08-2002, 12:43 AM
I actually liked JP3. I realize it's basically "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" converted into a dinosaur movie, but it was entertaining. I just have problems with the ending.

Worst movies:

1. The Jaws sequels
2. Friday the 13th sequels
3. Star Trek 5
4. The Flinstones
5. Starship Troopers
6. Speed 2

Notice most of the movies on my list as well as the others are sequels.

There were a alot of great movies just this year Mr. Vader, some I would definately put at the top of 100 all time greatest. This definately the best decade for movies ever, or it at least soon will be.

just this year:
Minority Report
Signs
AOTC :dunce:
Black Hawk Down
The Bourne Identity
XXX

The up and coming, and guarenteed to be some of the coolest movies ever:
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Return of the King
Star Trek: Nemesis, it is about time for a new trekkie movie
Solaris, what can I say it a James Cameron film.
T3
X-Men 2
The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions
STAR WARS: EPISODE III

The past couple of years:
THE MATRIX
The Fellowship of the Ring
Gladiator
The Cell, yeah I know it was kinda freaky but it was cool.
The Majestic, who would have thought Jim Carrey can really act.
X-Men
The One
A.I.
Meet the Parents
I know there was alot more, I just can't think of them right now.

Yeah there might have been some really bad movies these last couple of years, but the good ones have more than outwheighed them.

Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings, all in one year!!!!!!! This is definately a great year at the movies. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif

If you want to see a GOOD movie with sharks in it, watch Jaws. ST: TNG was ok as a show, but those characters in the movies were horrible.

Kafer
09-12-2002, 05:36 PM
I don't think the ST:TNG Characters sucked on the big screen. I think the actors playing some of them sucked on the big screen. DeAnna Troi. Needs to stick with TV. Riker - Needs some more acting lessons before being on big screen again. Picard, Worf, Data even LaForge were good on the big screen.

Here is yet another American who loved Mars Attacks! And I had no idea there was a trading card game before it. To say you don't like Mars Attacks is like saying you don't like the Princess Bride.

Beverly Hills Cop I-XIV (is that even a number?)

Have you even read the book?

If they had made it direct from the book interpretation, it would have had to have been cut into a very long series.

Oh, and it's spelled Gollum, and his real name is Smeagol, and he killed his brother to get the ring, and he's really a hobbit..............

By the way, when Gandalf says "He's given you Bag End," I was like OK, I know what Bag End is, but they didn't even introduce it as such, and it's kind of out of place. Don't you think?

To Winston: The original Beverly Hills Cop is a classic, the second is watchable and the third one sucked. But the original is one of Eddie's best movies.

I also liked Mars Attacks. It's not because of the story or the SFX because it is obviously something of a parody of 40's-50's alien invaders movies, but it is because of the performances. Can anyone honestly say that Jack is not awesome in both roles he is in, especially as the President? Don't forget it also starred a young Natalie Portman as the daughter of the First Family.

C'mon now, there are actually people that didn't like The Princess Bride? That is one of the best, if not the best, fairy tale movies of all time.

The original Grease is also a good movie. One of the best musicals of all time.

Executive Decision was a good Steven Segal movie only because he died in the first 15 minutes and then it became a Kurt Russell movie.

Here are some more awful movies:

Stone Cold with Brian Bosworth
Over The Top with Stallone
Mercury Rising with Bruce Willis
Richie Rich with Macaulay Culkin
Why was Caddyshack 2 made?
What the hell was Speed 2 supposed to be anyway?
Any Police Academy after the original
Anything with Chuck Norris
Anything with Dolph Lundgren

Yeah the movie wasn't absolutely perfect Winston Sith, it had its lfaws. But it's defineately not one of the worst movies of all time.

It was nominated for 14 oscars, more then any other film. But the they did change alot from the book, they had to edit the story for length, but in the long run, it seems they took out some rather improtant parts.

It's a great movie, buit the book is way better.

Hey Dbldwn, I still like "Masters of the Universe" with Dolph Lungdren, it was one of my favorites growing up.
The first universal soldier wasn't half bad either.

The remake of Ocean's Eleven is not only way better than the original, but also a really good movie.

I forgot about Masters of the Universe. That was a good movie when I was a kid because the cartoon was one of the best. So I guess there was one good Dolph Lundgren movie.

Does anyone else wish that they would make a live action GI Joe movie. That would be the coolest.

yea i use to love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but if you watch those movies now....their really cheesy, corny and crappy. but the concept is classic. thats why John Woo is planning on doing an all CGI version of the TMNT, the way they were suppose to originally look. all tuff and badass looking, and not the pizza eating fools that talked like surfers

Someone mentioned "Congo" earlier, thank you for reminding me how awful that movie was! It's only saving grace was that Laura Linney's carrer started to develop afterwards. What a great actress.

Also, some people were bashing "Deep Blue Sea". While I'll admit that it's no great step forward in cinema, I'll point out that it's not supposed to be. I really enjoyed that movie because I didn't take it seriously. Hell, you're not supposed to! Just watch Sam Jackson's death scene and you'll see how serious the movie takes itself.

"James and the Giant Peach" was also mentioned earlier. Absolutely horrible! I believe it came out only a year or 2 after the masterful "Nightmare before Christmas" (Tim Burton's finest hour, I must say) and it pales in comparison.

Why do so many people hate "Unbreakable"? I thought it was outstanding! Remember, it's not "The Sixth Sense"!

Some other horrendus films:

"Commando"
"Conan the Destroyer"
"Jaws 3-D"
"Jaws 4: The Revenge"
"Teen Wolf"

DblDwn
09-19-2002, 02:28 PM
Growing up playing basketball Teen Wolf was one of my favorite movies. Of course it isn't great, but it certainly is't awful.

I agree with Jaws 3 & 4. As great as the first one is and as decent as the second one is I can't believe they could make two cheesy @$$ movies and expect to pass them off as anywhere near the originals.

I'll give you a break, you're only what 14?

Most of Tom Cruise's movies are good, he is an excellent actor, observe:

Top Gun

Born on the Fourth of July

Legend

Mission Impossible

Interview with the Vampire

Minority Report

Vannila Sky, it was freaky wierd, but it was good.

Oh and that other guy you were talking about Brad Pitt, well there's:

Interview with the Vampire

The Devil's own

The River runs through it

Legends of the Fall

Seven years in Tibet

Fight Club

Seven

They have both made some pretty darn good movies. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

Not all sequels suck

There's:

The Godfather II
Temple of Doom & Last Crusade
Jaws 2
T2
Most of the James Bond movies
Silence of the Lambs was technically a sequel of Manhunter

Just to name a few

I agree with you DS that Brad Pitt was pretty good in Se7en, Snatch, 12 Monkeys and Fight Club.

Everyone forgets that Tom Cruise was pretty solid in Taps, his first film, back in the day.

Seven was not Brad Pitt's movie. It was Morgan Freeman's all the way. 12 monkeys only had Pitts perfromance, but other than that is the movie that good? Snatch was okay, I can't buy Pitt in the role though, he was too bizarre. And Fight Club was all about Edward Norton and Helena Boham Carter.

Oh yeah Temple of Doom sucked compared to the other two and pretty much was not all that great of a movie but I will still watch it because harrison ford carried it for the most part. But because I tend to watch it over and over again I would not classify it as one of the worst movies ever or anywhere close to that.

Well, I heard that they wanted the original cast, but Murray wont agree, saying he thinks tha it shouldn't go on. I think that Harold Ramis is too old and (pardon my being blunt) fat. Egon is only like 40 years old in the new ones, so he wont fit them. Ramis should stick with directing. murray to acting, and Akroyd should retire.

A friend and I got off work last night and decided to rent a movie; we relunctantly decided to take a chance and rent "The New Guy" in hopes that it would be semi-funny. well, my friend, it was the most mind-numbing, boring, confused, and brainless 1.5 hours of my 20 years on this Earth. I feel true sorrow for the poor souls who actually paid 7 bucks to see this piece of fecal matter in the theater. If you ever think about renting "The New Guy", think twice my friend, think twice. I would rather lose a limb than be forced to watch this movie again.
LOL Daniel!!!

I haven't seen it, but all those things you stated were what I already thought about the movie.

The latest one, Jason X, reeked of "fecal matter". One reviewer said the producers of the movie were so stupid, they would likely title the sequel Jason X 2.
(I hope 'yall get that one, I thought it was funny, the joke that is)

I liked The New Guy, it wasn't a really good movie by any standard, but it was decent. Glad I waited to see it until it was on video however.

This topic should be in Polls and Surveys. Moving now.

The worst movie I've ever seen is one called "Space Marines". It was the worst piece of crap to ever be crapped.

How 'Mars attacks' and 'Dude where's my car" and the producer's that made something about Mary made a film after it about a guy who likes a girl and then they turn out to be brother and sister and then they are not etc. IT was pathetic.

The one Admiral Daala is referring to is the movie with Chris Klein and Heather Graham. It was bad I admit. I can't think of the name though.

"Novacaine" starring Steve Martin. It was a 2001 film and, oh my god, was it horrible!

I think Aurra Sing mentioned it earlier. "Say It Isn't So"...I think.

I haven't seen it, but it came out like in August or September and is on DVD now! Only 4 months. It must have been really bad.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen was Valentine. Don't remember anyone who was in it other than Denise Richards. I wanted the 90 minutes or so of my life back. I also thought that XXX was terrible. How in the world does that little antenna he clings to withstand an avalanche? I can live with most of the other stunts, but that was just ridiculous. Plus the girl in it was not attractive at all.

One of the worst movies of all time would have to be Battlefield: Earth. Rent it, and you will not be disappointed. It stars John Travolta in possibly his worst role ever. His role: rastafarian werewolf.
