I like Star Trek. Mostly DS9. I'm not a Trekkie, though... lol
Star Trek is ok. First contact is awesome. I think that the original series was bad, but the Next Generation is excellent. the others are okay. I can't wait for the next movie!

Use to watch it quite a lot - mainly next gen. I've only seen one or two episodes of Enterprise - I tend to turn it off after I listen to the opening music style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif

I like Trek in some forms but not others. The original series bored me but I like the films with the original series' actors (2 and 6 rule). I loved TNG. It was my favorite show after the 1st season...
**I have a rule regarding reruns. If Riker doesn't have a beard, I don't bother watching. Can anyone explain that rule?**
...and I have about 90 or so TNG episodes on tape. DS9 was okay, I loved some of the characters and I liked the darker mood of the show, mainly in the set design and lighting, yet it never excited me as TNG did and after awhile I watched only once in a blue moon. Voyager bored me to piss, I'm serious. Back in the TNG days I would be vastly upset if I got home just a few minutes late and missed the pre-opening credits plot intro, or any part of the show especially the ending. But with Voyager, I could sit through half a show before getting interested in something else (like my computer), and never watch nor care how the episode ended.
Regarding the movies, going back to the beginning, I love SW 2, 4, and 6; Generations was good but could have been better, First Contact was good but not as good as it should have been, considering that the Borg were my 2nd fav adversaries in ST, and Insurrection was good, and better than I expected it to be. I am looking forward to the next one, although I won't be seeing it on opening day like all the past 3 Star Wars movies.
Enterprise design designations, and favorites thereof:
I liked the 1960's Enterprise NCC-1701 for its design at the time of its showing, and the ST films 1-6 NCC-1701 and 1701A design also. I loved TNG as a show but loathed the Enterprise D. It was oddly shaped, out of proportion, and looked off-center from any direction you saw it from. The Enterprise C was great, going back vaguely to the original shape with modern enhancements, and looked like a powerful warship. The Enterprise B was, the Enterprise B...Excelsior class, one of the most magestic of Starfleet class designs, IMHO. I love the B. What else was there? The E. Holy crepps, the E class is incredible. Sleek, magestic, streamlined like a bullet. The Enterprise E is my favorite of all Starfleet vessels and one of my favorite designs in all sci-fi shows and movies.
And the new show Enterprise? I like the ship. I like Scott Bakula a lot, always have; like the characters, the unexplored origins and prospects of the series, and I like the show a lot. That came as a bit of a surprise to me, after my loss of interest in DS9 and lack of interest in Voyager. I never watch the show, however. I'm rarely home on Wednsday night from work before 9:30pm or later, to watch the show, or one of my favorite shows of all of lately, West Wing.
Note this, ST fans:
In ST3 Scottie dissed the Excelsior-class Excelsior, a ship he served on in part of that film unhappily. Then in ST4 at the end when the crew were taken to their new posting, Scottie lamented that he dreaded having to serve on the Excelsior again. So it's real obvious that Scottie detested the Excelsior class and the first ship of that class's namesake. Okay, fine, no big whoop, moving along...In ST: Generations when the brand new Excelsior class Enterprise B was about to embark on its maiden voyage, VIP guest Scottie marveled at the new ship and gave impressive praise of it after touring it.
So what changed your opinion of the Excelsior-class, Scottie? Did you contradict yourself, or just plain forget how much you hated that ship design only 3 movies earlier? :bored:

Queen Onna, this should be in Communications so everyone can see it, since it technically is not a poll, ya know what I mean? But as of now, with all the board changes, I have to figure how to do the once easy as pie procedure of moving a topic to another section. When I know how, :dunce: I'll move it there. Okeyday?

No the Original series rules me thinks. I'm trying to get each Episode of ST:TOS on DVD, some of them are hard to find.
Here are some of my favorite episodes:
"Spocks Brain"
"The Carbomite Manuever"
"Reqrium for Methusalah"
"Where no man has gone before"

By the way, the best films with the original cast, in my opinion mind ya', were 1 & 4, 4 is still the best of all of them.
After that, "Generations" and "First Contact".
Nemesis looks so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a trailer for Nemesis on "Signs".
Looks even more visual lush than AOTC did, or The Two Towers is going to be. I could not believe I was watching a preview for a Star Trek movie, it just looks awesome, some of the best CGI EVER, and just plain the most awesome visual experience I have ever had.

I like Star Trek, though I'm not a Trekkie. My dad is the Trekkie in the family. I'm not too keen on the series, but I do watch them sometimes. Unfortuneately, we cannot catch Enterprise in our area. The cable company claims that the UPN network in our area doesn't come in good enough. And then for some reason we wouldn't be able to get it on satellite.
I prefer the movies, though. My faves are 4, 6, and First Contact. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

hehe style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif Unfortunately, it's not that easy. We live in a low area in South Louisiana and the reception is bad, provided you even can see the picture. Plus, hurricanes reek havoc with external antennas. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/eh.gif

I Love all things star trek!
Actually people have before asked me: Which do you like better? Star wars or Star Trek... HOW IN THE WORLD COULD I CHOOSE!??When I am watching Star Wars I am like 'oh man! No contest! WHOOHOO! STAR WARS!" but then when I watch any of the Star Trek shows or movies ia m like "NO! THIS IS IT! YEAH!" So I guess that that would signify that i like them both the same.
Cause I grew up on both of them actually, I grew up watching all the star wars shows and movies and I grew up wearing out the star wars movies! So it's almost impossible for me to choose!
So don't ask me! I think if someone asked my my favorite series it would be between Next Generation and Voyager...I LOVE the Original series and DS9 too but those other two would be my favorites. I didn't really like the Enterprise series...but other people did so that's cool!:)

I'm not a Trek fan.
I've seen clips here and there from every series. Some of it seems interesting, but some of it seems too cheezy. But plenty of series add their share of cheeziness into shows now and then. I suppose I'd have to watch a good number of quality episodes before I could appreciate the cheeze factor. I wouldn't want to simply be able to 'look past' it, I'd want to appreciate it since it's part of the story.
I haven't watched any of the movies all the way through. Heard some blow, heard some rule, heard some are just mediocre.
I've read none of the books.
I like certain concepts, but I have to like pretty much everything in the series/movie/book I plan to view. Any suggestions would be welcome. There is so much Star Trek out there that I would think I could find something that interests me.
I guess I'm looking for something that's not really like Star Wars... you know, like the NJO. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

I would argue that ST:TNG in one of the best shows ever made. It's one of the only TV shows to make me cry, and more than once. I challenge anyone to watch the episode "Lower Decks" and maintain a dry eye. Also the episode were Data creates a doughter (I can't remember the episode name) makes me cry like a little girl. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif

I love Star Trek. Though, I've only just started to get into it. I started watching the Original Series last summer and I've been renting those DVDs like crazy, lately. I've seen movies I-IV and I just finished reading my first Star Trek book, To Reign in Hell: The Exile of Khan Noonien Singh... man, if all Star Trek books are that good, I pity myself, already. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif Whats scary though, is that To Reign in Hell is about Khans banishment and stuff and how they discover the Ceti Alpha eels and a few days after I finished the book I got an ear infection. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif

I like Trek, but I'm NOT a trekkie. I like TOS and the first six movies. TNG and Voyager are both awful (I haven't seen enough of DS9 to have formed an opinion, only the first season has been aired here in Sweden), but I do like Enterprise (please don't ask me why, because I haven't got a clue style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif).

I enjoy Star Trek, and I happen to be a "standard Trekkie". I own all seven seasons of both The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, including the first season of Voyager, and am saving up money to buy the Original Series and the remainder of Voyager.

While I also like the movies and books, in many cases (not all of them are bad) I find both sets of items to be below the high standards of the series.

I enjoyed the original series as a kid, but a lot of them are hard to watch now. TNG was pretty cool, but I really didn't become a fan till the 6th season. DS9 started slow, but I thought it became excellent after the 3rd season. I would say it's my favorite Trek series. Voyager was weak, almost unwatchable during some seasons, and Enterprise has been pretty good in it's final season.

I'm a trekkie, more of a moderate trekkie now. I'm first and formost a Niner. Love DS9 through the entire run. The Original Series is the only other Trek I like during it's entire run. TNG is ok post-first two seasons, but it's way weaker than TOS and DS9. Last three Voyager seasons are good, with the last season of Voyager being the only trek season I watched through it's entire run. Enterprise just plain sucks, and I'm glad it's canceled.
