I plan to get to one of those soon. The last couple of years have been out of the question because I was using my money for the Fangoria "Weekend of Horrors" conventions. But maybe this year is the year I make it to ComiCon.

There was no get together for the Senate at C2. I had to buy an autogragh ticket just to get into the autograph section where T was working because I was NOT leaving Indy without getting to talking to him. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif

But this time we will plan something, no worries. I can't wait to smooch Dobi and Trilly and ruffle Good's hair and punch Bond in the arm. It will be great. I hope it works out that you all can go!

lol...I was working in the autograph section and was actually in the booth next to T'Bone for a couple of hours, but didn't know it until after the fact.

Here's some useful links/info that I've been posting in other places. From what I understand, the Indy Knights are working on an unofficial page for C3...I missed a meeting or two, so I'm not completely up to speed on it. Here are some useful links in the meantime:

Indy Knights C3 Info Organizing Thread (http://pub65.ezboard.com/findyknightsfrm2.showMessage?topicID=137.topic) - When it started looking like C3 was definately in Indy, I started gathering some recommendations of the locals as far as what resturants, things to do, etc that we like. Also, in the first post, has some maps I recreated from the C2 program showing where everything was for C2 just to get an idea/remind everyone where things were at. There's also a link to the 2003 Gen*Con map, but they had the whole convention hall, and obviously, a different type of setup.

FanForce C2/Indianapolis Info Thread (http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=5818746) - This was the catch all thread of every piece of official & unofficial & rumored information gathered up in one place.

Current FanForce C3 chit-chat thread (http://boards.theforce.net/FanForce_Conventions/b10290/13818804/?144) - Similar to the previous thread here except there's a bit more talk on what people spent, what hotels people have already been able to get reservations at, which ones they couldn't, etc.

Hopefully everyone can help out and we can really do the sites justice.

I really want to do some fun stuff like make badges, maybe things to give away like bumper stickers, shirts or hats - i dunno...no plans yet.

I've been hearing that a lot of the hotels won't accept reservations more than 9 or 12 months in advance. I think there is one that's taking reservations now, but I can't remember the name.

I know a few people said they were able to get reservations at the Westin, but most other places won't take them until April for April 05. The C3 block of rooms will be available when the tickets go on sale at the end of the summer.

C2 seemed to shutdown each night at about 5...there were related events afterwards, like the Concert and what not, but the main halls & programming shut down then. If I remember correctly the doors opened up about 9 or 10.

We were never out of there before 10pm. Friday night was the Fan Film Awards and Saturday night was the concert. Sunday we lurked until 5pm and nearly all the fans were out of the convention center, because we just didn't want to leave and we had late flights going home.

Redmirax was lucky, Carrie Fisher AND Billy Dee Williams were on her flight back to Dallas.

Plane tickets were cheap, but it cost $75 for a three day pass. Expect it to cost $100 or more to get in this time.

I'd love to go to this thing. I've never been to a SW con and I'd love to meet all of you. Money will be an issue, however. And as for flying, I dread getting on a plane. I'm not afraid of flying, I'm just afraid of crashing. I wonder how long it would take to drive there? It takes me 12 hours to get to Chattanooga, Tn, and from Chattanooga it once took me 6 hours to get to Cincinatti. This trip would probably take me about 20+ hours to do. If I still lived in Tennessee instead of the southern part of Florida, going to this convention would be a no brainer for me, but that distance is a hassle for sure.

Hey Vibro, if I did go to this thing (that is a big "if"), I would pass through Kentucky and you could hitch a ride with me.

I just wanted to offer anyone my help, should anyone want it, for Celebration III. I live 90 minutes from Indy (in Ohio, about 15 minutes from the state line). I'm sure there are other Galactic Senate members who live closer to Indy than I do but since I'm in the general vicinity, I'd be happy to look into hotel, flight, and ground transportation.

I know this is really early to be posting this, but here's what I can tell you about the flights in this area. There are four airports that I know of that are within driving distance of Indy.

One of course is Indianapolis. Generally reasonable fares.

Dayton, Ohio is another good option which is only about 2 hours, 15 minutes from Indianapolis. A reasonable drive in my opinion.

Cincinnati is another option. Approximately the same distance from Indianapolis as Dayton (a bit further), but fares are usually A LOT more expensive. I stongly suggest staying away from the Cincy airport to save you dough.

If you don't mind a 3 1/2 hour drive, your best bet is Columbus, Ohio. They always seem to have the cheapest fares whenever I buy airline tickets for visits to Connecticut. Although I don't know for sure (no map nearby) I think Chicago-Indy may be about an equal drive (to Columbus-Indy).

My sister-in-law lives in Indianapolis so I would be happy to ask her for hotel suggestions/opinions or even a restaurant/bar where all us Galactic Senate folks can meet, hang out, and have a few cold ones.

Like I said, this is early to be posting stuff like this but I just wanted to offer any help I can. I'm definitely going to Celebration III and I'd like to see as many of you folks there too. Whatever I can do to make that possible, even if it's just to offer some helpful flight hints, so be it!
