Hey everyone!
Here's a discussion thread for the newest e-book in the NJO run, written by Walter Jon Williams, author of the upcoming Destiny's Way hardcover.
Ylesia takes place during DW, and is about Jacen, Jaina and Jag undertaking a mission to rid the Peace Brigade of it's new headquarters (on Ylesia, obviously) and capture some of their leaders, including the newly elected President of the Peace Brigade, Thracken Sal-Solo.
However, Supreme Overlord Shimmra decides that it's in the best interests of the Yuuzhan Vong to fortify Ylesia, so the Jedi team will get a little more than they bargained for.
It releases today, and is available where e-books are sold online (I know it's available at Random House, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon).
Enjoy!

It actually takes place during the novel; according to WJW, there's a three month span between different sequences in DW, and Ylesia fits right in there.

So, anyone want to spoiler some stuff? Give some reactions to the e-book? Comments, critiques, criticisms? All are welcome, and I personally wouldn't mind the spoilers. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

Hey everyone! I'm back!
Anway, I read Ylesia yesterday and I found it an Ok book but nothing special. It was fun and quick. There were a few things that bugged me, like Jacen being the same as the pre-Traitor Jacen, but that'll probably be different in DW ( I hope!) I give it a 4/5.

you thought jacen was the same as pre traitor jacen?
he definitly wasn't...there were some charachteristics but he def. wasn't all worried about going into battle anymore..i think..
he was just rusty...i feel that was jaina's fear as well..but he proved her wrong...
*shrug* i'm waitng for dW too

I don't know, I just got the impression that Jacen isn't what he became at the end of Traitor. I'll have to wait for Dw to see if there were maybe new plot developments there.

ok, ive only just started reading ylesia, i havent finished it cause im lazy, but it seems that Corran Horn is in command of Rogue Squadron. What ever happened to Gavin Darklighter?

I asked a very similar question to that back in the EUDF thread. It seems that Gavin is off doing some kind of undercover work or something. Maybe you should just go read JTS's post... :look:

Not undercover, but he's been either taken off assignment from Rogue Squadron and reassigned to some other position in Wedge's command (since Wedge is still working with Garm bel Iblis, while the Jedi are working with Traest Kre'fey) OR a new Rogue Squadron was formed, under Corran's command, that serves with Kre'fey's forces, while the original Rogue Squadron was still under command of Gavin under bel Iblis's forces.
There were many problems I had with DW and Ylesia, and this was one of them. Thanks WJW! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif

Okay, I have a question for probably JTS, or anyone else who can answer it.
Ylesia is supposed to come during Destiny's Way, right? So does anyone know where exactly is supposed to go? Like, which two chapters it's between? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif

ive ordered the next few books in the series, and im having trouble finding ylesia in any format other than 'e-book'.
was this book ever released in paperback or hardback, or is it just an e-book?

Well, I think it's added in at the end of the first book of the Dark Nest Trilogy (Post-NJO). That's the only place I think I've seen it. I could be completely wrong though.

You can actually get it for free at Star Wars.com also.
Here's a link to where you can get it in PDF format directly from SW.com
http://www.starwars.com/eu/lit/novel/news20030826.html
And Gavin Darklighter is correct that it also came in print form included with the first book of the Dark Nest trilogy, The Joiner King

It really isn't important to read it. Just know that the Peace Brigade and Yuuzghan Vong lose a battle at Ylesia against Kre'fey's fleet. That is basically it.
