I watched those last night and was not impressed. Some of the CG on that P'unked thing was nice but the pacing was all out making it dull.

Hey! I haven't entered yet! The deadline is June 15th, isn't it?
Or have I gotten it all wrong? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/giveup.gif
Whish everyone who has entered good luck though... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

THiS IS AN OUTRAGE!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/devil.gif
I've just read through the contest rules for the SW Fan Film Awards again! Apparantly I must have missed something the first time I read through 'cause it says that only legal residents of either USA, UK, JAPAN or CANADA (not Quebec) are allowed to enter the contest!!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>3. Eligibility:
This contest is open to natural persons who are 13 years of age or older and are legal residents of the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), the United Kingdom, and Japan.[/b][/quote]
This is so unfair!! I've been thinking about this contest every day in the last three months, and then I discover this!!!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif
I really think the contest should be open to anyone (I wonder why Australians aren't allowed...and people from Quebec, what wrong have they done...)
Once again I feel like Luke, stucked on Tatooine while everyone else is out there having fun...

Yikes! Sorry man...you should find a US partner to submit for ya style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

But it's really a matter of principle!!!!
But I guess I could try that, T'bone...thanks for your suggestion btw.
Or I could make one he** of a good fan film for the 2005 contest and submit it, and then they would learn it the hard way what they've missed!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/devil.gif
*sigh* style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

I don't personally do this contest because I like my films to be of some length. But then again, I've got my professional work to do before I can make a fanfilm for fun.

I've entered the Atom film awards but still have not had an answer. Its been 10 days.
If they don't like your film do they respond to you or do they leave you hanging?
T-bone
05-22-2004, 12:32 AM
It takes a little while. We submitted ours a few weeks ago. We hope they accept it since they accepted our others the last 2 years but it's up to them, honestly. It's a waiting game right now. They have loads of films to screen to multiple people so it can take a while.
Good luck to you!

It's not the fault of the contest creators...Quebec has gaming laws which forbid residents from entering certain contests and draws etc.

Directions: 1. click on http adress
2. On xdrive page do one of two things..
a) log in with ioetp1972@yahoo.com, pinball
as password
b) OR register for free 15 day trial.
3. press the login button
4. click the select box next to the file
5. click the download button in the top
left corner
On DSL it took me 11 minutes to download.
Potential problems: I don't know how many people can log onto the site with the same username and password. If its just one person, this won't work.
I don't have a place to show this, so its the best I could do.

I'm on cable and it's still downloading really slow - must be their servers.
Anyhow - it's coming down now. I'll have a look when it's done.

I hope you get in! I don't see why you wouldn't.

Thanks T-bone, we watched yours at the office yesterday. There was about 5 of us watching your third installment.
You did a really good job on that. Who did the music? That music is spot on.
Nice timing and great pace on Silent but Deadly, I love the pace and the flow on all the films you guys have done, how long did you guys tinker with the editing?
T-bone
05-22-2004, 06:15 PM
Coolio - me and Jeff worked really hard on the last one. The music is just royalty free piano stuff we bought and we tinkered so that it all fell into place. This one seemed to really just fall together, kind of like the first one. Editing was done in a few sessions because this one was 12 minutes as opposed to the others which were much shorter. We did this in about 5-6 sessions of varied times....some almost 6-8 hours long. Editing this one seemed easier though it was longer however. Part 2 was definitely the most troubling of the three in regards to just about everything - music, editing, technical problems etc. It was sort of rushed so you know, in context I think we did well and it did win an award so there ya go. We really do love this new one however - proud of it.
I guess we should take this to the thread for the films style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
However - i did enjoy yours...feel free to make a thread for it and put in that info on how people can download it and see it.

Tril - I don't know where exactly that goes but I hardly think the atom films thread is the place, eh?
Why not start a new thread?
Anyhow - still no word from Atom on our film making the cut this year. I wonder what's up and if they're having doubts now...

I sent my film on April 30th so I have given up hope.
My friend sent hers on May 27th so I have more hope for her.
I wish they would at least send a rejection letter.

far be it from me to be optimistic, but keep in mind that the deadline isn't until June 15.
we may yet hear something.
Yes, that is Tango herself as Leia in the avatar there. She would answer herself but she's on the road driving 3+ hours to get to my house right now. We're working on a non-SW film together this week.
This is her friend who also sent a film into AtomFilms (they got it May 27) and is anxiously awaiting a response.

I am soooooooooo excited, I just got home and heard word that Wendy's film 8 mins was picked to be in the SW contest. They wrote her today and I am acting in it so I am also excited about being on the net, wahoo. This is our first time getting in. We have made three films and this is our second year trying, so I am soooooooo happy tonight.

If I tell you the title, it'll give away the concept. Should be up later today now anyway, so I will set up a thread.
We found out the beginning of last week, but I wasn't sure that we would get all the forms in on time so I didn't mention it. Didn't want to jinx ourselves. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue2.gif
We've tried the last two years, but this is the first time we got in. We entered older versions of The Bounty Hunters Talk Back before. If you haven't seen that one, check out my sig.

The whole con was a blast between that and meeting Mark Hamill for the first time and getting to tell Irvin Kirshner that he directed my favorite film EVER. I'd never been to Comic Con before and loved every minute of it.
