oh come on we all know real mexicans living in mexico do not eat the americanized tacos and gorditas and such taco bell/chi chis food like that, Mexico has its own very unique types of food, much more unique then what you can find at taco bell or "mexican restaraunts" here in the states LOL, we understand.

And yes you can see I am not "foreign" but I hope you don't me posting in here I like talking to people not from my country, it's interesting.

The_Senator_from_Terra

Here in the States commericals for Foster's beer love to make it seem as if "real Aussie's drink Foster's" however I have heard that a true Aussie wouldn't be caught dead with Foster's. Is this true? I bet it is, because those commercials are really overdoing it...

Also how does the majority of Mexico feel about Vicente Fox? From the little we've seen and heard about him on american TV he comes across as being a pretty decent president.

Not really although SOME australians like Fosters Ice. YOu're much more likely to find an Aussie Beer Drinker with a VB in their hand.

Here's a question:

If you're from a country and you say "foreign" do you mean Non-US?
Otherwise you're looking for people FROM the US?
I'm confused if the term foreign means not from your country or not from the USA...

While I agree that JA 37 Jaktviggen is a good plane, it hasn't been seeing much action. The JAS 39 Gripen is terrible. I can't see a Gripen coming out alive from a dogfight, all electronics would have failed and the plane crashed. It's a miracle that noone was seriously injured when a Gripen fighter crashed in downtown Stockholm on the 8th of August 1993 during an airshow. Strangely enough, a memorial rests on that spot (I can't understand why it was erected). An other Gripen fighter crashed in Sweden's largest lake Vänern in 1999. The American fighter jets are much better, especially the F/A 18 Hornet and F-22. Well, the MIG-29 and other Russian fighters would outclass Gripen.
The bottom line is, it's difficult to judge a fighter which hasn't seen much of real action. I think it would have been better if Sweden had joined the Eurofighter project instead of developing the dreadful JAS 39 Gripen.

On second thought, does this belong in a Star Wars forum?

I like the sound of bagpipes, but they really need to be heard in moderation. Same as with a Male Voice Choir. Lovely to hear once in a while, but after hearing them for an hour or two you get a bit fidgety to hear something funky...

Actually, Nova Scotia means "New Scotland" and it was originaly settled by scottish imagrints.
So the populaiton is nearly half scottish.

And after we see one, we take a picutre, give him a randome name, and put it in a photo album. Then, I go through all the candidates and select the few I think are eligible. Then, my friends go around with date proposals and we see who takes the bait. Who ever does, begins courtship with me before I cut the nubers down to "Mr. Right" and we marry.
And then he puts me on his white stallion and we blast off to the Star Wars univers.... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Yeah, I knew Nova Scotia meant new Scotland, some of the people in my village went there on a boat called the Hector after the evil English kicked them off their farms and burned the bothies to the ground. This was in the 19 century, not last week or anything!

Tark - you could have a points system, 1 = ginger hair
2 = drinking whiskey
3 = tossing a caber
4 = wearing a kilt
1000 = Ewen McGreggor

He he, sounds like fun, come to Scotland instead though, it's not overated.

Are you kiddin'?! I'm DYING to go to scotland and visit some of the isles off the coast. I'm looking for one in particular too!

Actually, we do have a point system... similar to your actually but it goes:

1= Ginger hair
1.5= Beard and Moustache/long hair (those I can get him to grow after)
2= Tossing a caber (toss it man!)
3- Wearing a kilt
4= acting chivalrious (manners are important to me)
5= cuddly
10= only drinks socially without gettin' hammered
50= turns down the drink to begin with

I'm from Holland or the Netherlands if you prefer that, never did understand why this tiny little country needed two names in english.

I don't think there are other dutch people around in the senate but I'm not sure, Obi-Stu speaks afrikaans that's quite similar to dutch though.

mazzy
07-13-2004, 12:15 PM
It certainly sounds similar. Hey Bous, I've been to the most obvious place in the Netherlands - Amsterdam and thought it was a beautiful city for the art and culture. Where else would you recomend?

Darth Sithster
07-13-2004, 08:11 PM
The name "netherlands" refers to all dutch countries in the North, like the way "balkans" and "americas" mean specific segments of contintents.

Holland is the country's name. Also the inventors of the first and most important Vaccine against small pox.
Women go for the chocolate, Men go for the milkmaids.

wasn't that steryotypical.

btw, Naarden used to be the capital before Amsterdam. I know that because i wanted to spoof a newspaper for Cognitive Psychology so i photo manniped a picture of Freud into a picture of Amsterdam.

edit: Mazzy, I will do to you what i did to them- Purolater charges and free Warrenty on your account! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/saber.gif

The Netherlands used to be Holland and Belgium together, you had the northern Netherlands (Holland) and the southern Netherlands (Belgium).
Still, if people are talking about the Netherlands now they mean Holland.

Mazzy if you liked Amsterdam mainly for the culture & art there are lot of other places worth visiting. For example the place I live (Alkmaar) is a city not far from Amsterdam (about 35 kilometers) and it's also a nice old city with lots of things to see.
Other nice places if you like culture are Leiden, Gouda, Groningen and lots more.

If you ever come back let me know, maybe I can give you some tips then.

Hey Obi-Stu is Afrikaans your first language?
Nah, I'm origlly from England, we moved to South Africa when I was four years old. It took me 15 years to learn how to speak Afrikaans. I still don't speak it well but my reading, writing and understanding Afrikaans is really good.
