You technically could play a Kubaz. However, the Head might look down on it since your body is hidden by your outfit. You might have to prove that you can be trusted.

And you can't just show up in HQ if you haven't been cleared to land, unless you are already part of the Head. I guess I'll wait awhile(a few hours) for you to change that post of yours, but if you don't then I'll have to work around it. It was my fault for not directly specifying the boarding rule in the guidelines. I just changed it to include the new rule.

Try and avoid writing in other characters' reactions to your actions. This is an RPG, not fan-fiction. If you flip Joe Blow the bird, you shouldn't control how Joe Blow responds to that. A poster should have control over his own character's development.

Yes, Edge. If you can't post regularly then you shouldn't leave people hanging. You can still take an active role in Headstrong Dispatch, albeit much less active, if you don't plan on posting regularly. But if you don't post and can't be reached for too long then others will be forced to mode in order to move on with the story.

I don't like for people to do this so you shouldn't put them in that position.

Yea guys, although he starts his posts with 'Hans:', he should still be referred to as Han.

I went back and changed all my posts that mentioned Hans to Han because I had forgotten he wasn't going by his 'true' name. I will even refer to Han when I write about him in my post outside of any dialogue. Why? Because it's too much of a burden to go back and forth and I won't do it.

It might also be a good idea for all you guys to change your posts if you've referred to Hans instead of Han.

By the way, I'm sure you guys have noticed I haven't given much of a description of my character in the story or in my profile. It's because I've been trying to move things along quickly and figured I'd find time later to go into more detail. I'll give a fairly good description during the briefing.

In many RPGs people like to give detailed descriptions of their characters in their intitial posts, but it's not like I'm writing a fan fiction here so it's no big deal if you don't. I'm sure you guys would like other people to know what you look like though, so feel free to describe features of your character whenever you want. You don't have to put much into it if you don't want to.

Also, there might be better times for you to flesh out your character if you have a lengthy description planned. Basically when you aren't involved in much action, like idle on a ship, in your quarters, etc.

I've been doing some thinking(dangerous stuff, I know style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif ) and I had originally planned on taking the supervisor role of the thread only until things started running smoothly so eventually I could play a crew member. But now I don't think that's going to happen. I think I'm just going to be the 'boss' around here.

It would be nice to play a crew member but I think I'm going to save that maybe for another thread. Who knows, maybe you guys will have some adventures and make some good friends that spawn other threads to continue your adventures. I just think that my role in this thread will be more enjoyable and give the story more substance if I stick to it.

So, if I'm going to be running everything I'm going to need to control more than one major character. I know in the rules I say that's prohibited, but that's because I don't want people making up there own stories and separating themselves from the rest of the people playing. I need more than one character but it's just to make things more realistic and help things run smoothly and swiftly. Right now I'll just add one character, a droid, for me control besides Hovrin.

Is this cool with you guys?

You can create the story as you go, but I want you to realize something. The purpose of the head thread is mainly to make you become a better RPer. Now, storytelling has different a impact depending on what RPG you play, but with this RPG I would like you to focus more on your characters and your situation, letting the story bloom around you and your actions. Just go with the flow instead of trying to concoct some elaborate story.

That doesn't mean that there can't be an elaborate adventure that takes place, just let it grow itself instead of trying to write the whole thing yourself. I want you to immerse yourself into the RPG. Live another life.

Edge, Hovrin would be happy to discuss the situation at hand but you have to follow what's going on.
Hovrin nodded to the noghri, turned swiftly and made his way into the transport car. With the swipe of a card and the stroke of a few keys, he was shuttled away from the lobby.
As you can see, Hovrin is not in the lobby, even though you assumed he was. He left the lobby on a transport car and it doesn't say where he went. Now, I could post again showing where he went, or I could just edit my post to conform with what you've posted, but I'd rather you figure out a way in-story to contact Hovrin.

I don't want to walk everyone through everything. I don't want to have to change my posts just because people don't pay attention to what's going on or don't care. Use your brain and find a way to contact Hovrin.

Narvik, do you know what 'moding' is? If not, read the guidelines again.

You sense Darth Norsk standing behind you with his arms crossed.
A feeling of discomforture arises in you both as he speaks.
You shouldn't assume that they sense you or that they feel discomfort.

Did you not say a certain level of moding may be required. This character has the psionics to send those feelings to people. And the fact that Torque already feels uncomfortable about him makes it all the easier.

That particular part of the guidelines dealt with 'battle' moding but I thought it was understood that you can't assume things like you have. I guess I'll have to make a change to the guidelines.

But no, you can't assume that they sense your presence or dictate how they feel. You could easily have just spoken to them, and if your words were 'scary' enough then maybe the other members would describe how their characters felt discomfort, that is if it was how they wanted the situation to affect their characters. You have to give them the option to do so. That's what style we're going for in the RPG.

What you are doing is imposing on their right to develop their characters how they see fit just to make 'your story' work. You might say that I'm imposing on your right to develop your character. That may be somewhat true, but I'm making the fairest decision I think.

You guys are obviously having trouble moving things along, so you should do more in your posts to advance the story. Character development is great, but it can be done in many different ways at many different times. Your top priority should be accomplishing your mission... or right now, more specifically, starting it.

In charge? What does he do or say that shows he's in charge? All he's done is insert his character into the mission since he's part of the mission. He's also complained that it's taking so long and informed the involved parties that he will 'bail' on the mission if need be. That doesn't make him in charge.

He obviously wants to move his character along for his own purposes and nothing's getting done, so he's going to work his way out of the story if he has to. That is totally acceptable. It's part of the roleplay experience. It's a hurdle you, I or we will have to deal with.
