EXACTLY! I love the series, but their not being very smart with it. Posted from another CW topic. There are too many CW MS topics around, IMO. Anyways:

Loved every moment of it. But what's the deal with the Council Members? Isn't Even Piell supposed to be dead?
<div align="right">Quoted post</div>

That's exactly what I kep thinking about. My three "problems" (that I remember) with the Clone Wars Series are:

1) Why is Padme and Yoda on the same starship. Where are they going?

2) The Council. IIRC, half of those guys shouldn't be around right now. I though some of them were gone by AotC. I'll investigate this.

3) The continuity. The CWMS doesn't seem to go with the EU as EU goes with other EU. (I hope that made sense) It can work, but it's confusing. I'll have to investigate.

It's still awesome, but a wee bit confusing.

Other EU type questions, if I may ask. I know I'm in the spoiler section style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif but could someone tell me which EU that Obi-Wan is made a council member?

And in LoE, is Padme pregnant. I read it, but for whatever reason, I can't remember.

Her is my "research" on the subject. If I had the widescreen AotC DVD, I could tell who the ?s are. In the spoiler box is just a name, and a couple word description. Not that big of deal, but I am being safe as opposed to sorry. If someone could watch Chapter 9 on tthe AotC DVD, so I could fill it in . . . BTW, there is no order here.

I dunno, I thought it was alright, though some continuity issues do exist. Is this supposed to lead directly into the movies? If so where does that leave LOE? Is it supposed to run parallel or be something else for a different crownd to get them into the movie? Garrrgh.....should be explained...

True. And I just merged a couple of them in this forum.

What I was thinking was separate threads for each new episode, and this thread would stay open for general discussion. I tried to split off these last few posts into a 21 thread but I guess I don't have that power.

Seems like there will be a bit of a time gap in the continuity. All the pictures I've seen of Anakin in Season III he had long hair. So maybe tonights episode will jump forward a bit. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohwell.gif

I would really hate if it contradicted LOE. But seeing as Ep. 21 sees Anakin being knighted and at the beginning of LOE he's been knighted for awhile, I gather, since his hair has grown. It may all work out. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

It was so nice to see my lovey ( style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/inlove.gif Aayla Secura style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/inlove.gif ) up and fighting again, but she should've been able to kill the spider-tanks herself without dumb Anakin style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

I wonder if Lucasfilm will get the idea from the outstanding number of people watching CWMS that they should make a full Star Wars cartoon series. I've been wanting them to do so since the Special Edition Star Wars were re-released in '95-96.

I enjoyed the first two chapters of Season 3. In particular, Dooku sparring with Grievous was beautiful.

One question I have is this: How did Anakin get that scar on his face, and when (both in Earth time and continuity-wise) did it happen?

Luminara Skye

I think Anakin got his scar from Asajj Ventress in one of the comics. I don't know which one, though.

• Purple & Green Jedi Interceptors
•*Allusion to Vader on Anakin face in the tent… (triangular shapes uder the eyes)
• Mace playing bucking bronco on a Vulture droid
• Saesee Tinn is a bad a$$ MF especially with his cool T-visor helmet
• Yoda & Mace force throwing droids & ships all over the place
• Palpy about to be kidnapped…

Tomarrows looks right from the LOE book with GG and the train…

Awesome episode!!!!

On the contrary, as awesome as these are, they just completely F style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/censored.gif ed the entire CW EU. You may be interested in what Leland Chee (Tasty Taste) has had to say over at TOS forums about the continuity issues:

http://forums.starwars.com/thread.jspa?thr...6444&start=0257

The cartoon portions of Nelvaan take place just after they are mentioned in Labyrinth. The placement of the scenes (in both the novel and the cartoon) make it appear that certain events are taking place simultaneously for dramatic effect when they actually are not.

With any story, writers choose only those parts of the events that they can effectively portray and they feel is crucial to the story they are trying to tell. Hence you don't get the full picture of everything Mace Windu does during the Battle of Coruscant just by watching the cartoon or just by reading the novel. Even within the same scene, you might not be getting the entire picture of all the events taking place because of what the camera or writer focuses on (hence Stass Allie is not seen with Shaak Ti in the cartoon; these events are taking place just offscreen [see The2ndquest 's earlier post for a possible order of events].)

One other thing to keep in mind is that the target audience for the cartoons and the novels is different so they will each have a different approach to storytelling. As a result, certain action scenes and Jedi abilities sometimes will be exagerated in the cartoon a bit.

In conclusion, each story was created to be enjoyed independently of the other*. Enjoy them for what they are.

*Note that the online comic strip "Reversal of Fortune" acknowledges both sources and was written with both the cartoon and novel in mind.

Well, this last season had basically threw out the existing EU. The last seasons had a few errors, but they were acceptable, because they were made fairly early. For one, in the first episode, some of those Jedi on the Council are dead or gone. When he is to be made a knight in Jedi Trial, he has long hair. When he is knighted in episode 21, he has short hair. The timeline of events is very sketchy over the next few episodes. And as for the Battle of Coruscant, the Jedi are now in 2 places at once.

In LoE, Mace, Shaak Ti, and others (maybe, I don't remember) are in the sub-basement of 500 Republica (the appartments where the senators, including Palpatine, live) investigating Sidious, when the battle starts. Shaak Ti, Stass Allie, and the Talz and Ithorian Jedi (I think thats right, maybe a few are off) go to protect Palpatine, and the cartoon is almost the same there. But in the book, a gunship attacks the appartment, not Grevious himself. Since his appartment is compromised, Palpatine's red guard surround him, and they leave, but not via the turbolift to Palpatine's shuttle. They board a public train, joined by Mace and Kit. Then Grevious attacks, but Mace basically kicks his but. Meanwhile, Yoda is in a communications center, trying to break through the separatist jamming and contact the other Jedi across the galaxy. And Padme was in the Senate when the attack started. She meets up with Bail and Mon Mothma, and their speeder is shot down. Some Vulture fighters touch down and deploy to walking mode (the Episode I droid fighters). The three senators try to take them out. Then they hide. So Palpatine gets off the train, and into a shuttle with Shaak Ti, Stass Allie, the Talz and Ithorian Jedi board a gunship, and are accompanied by another gunship. After the shield is temporarily lowered to allow the two gunships in, they land, and Palpatine is ushered to "safety." Mace goes to look for Grevious, who was knocked off the train. It turns out that Grevious and some Magna guard were on the other shuttle. They blow up and kill a bunch of guards and the Talz and Ithorian Jedi. They may not even be Talz and Ithorian, but I'm doing this from memory. Anyway, Shaak Ti and Stass Allie try to get in the bunker, which Grevioius somehow had codes to. Mace and Kit arrive to late. I don't remember what happens with Stass and Shaak, not really. Basically, Grevious escapes with Palpy. The communications come back up (I think) and the Jedi pursue Grevious, including Sasae and maybe Mace, to try to get him before they reach a capital ship. A few Jedi make it aboard, but are quickly dispatched. Anakin and Obi-Wan were at another planet, Tythe, IIRC, with Republic forces. They engaged a Seperatist fleet, and went down to the planet to try to catch Dooku, which was just an attempt to delay them. After the battle, they recieve a message that Coruscant is under attack (I don't remember who). They leave, just Obi and Anakin, by themselves, and leave it at TO BE CONTINUED.

Keep in mind that I'm reciting, or typing this from memory. I am probably missing a few details, or confusing a few facts, but this is the jist of it. Also, I am doing the book NO JUSTICE. I really recommend this book, even if you don't read EU. It's that good. At the very least, rent the book from a library, and read the Battle of Coruscant stuff. It's good, and you wont be too confused jumping in the middle/
