I've always been a fan of Jar Jar (As you can see by my quote and Avatar) and I thought he was the funniest character in Episode 1 (The first SW movie I ever remember seeing). Later when I watched the other movies, I loved the Jawas and especially the Ewoks. (I took a test and I found out that my personality is most like Wicket). I just love the cute little teddy bear faces!

So if there are any other fans out there to tell me I'm not alone...then tell me I'm not alone!

Battle droids killed Jedi, clonetroopers killed battledroids after rescuing Jedi at YODA'S command.

If clonetroopers (keep in mind that clonetroopers are the future stormtroopers, that has been officially stated to oblivion) rescued the Jedi who could not properly defend themselves against their adversaries, hense "I must admit, that without the clone army it would not have been a victory" , then it is really foolish to think that Ewoks could stand against the armies of either the Empire or the Republic.

Plenty of Ewoks were killed in the battle of Endor, many more than Imperials. The only reason the stormies sucked in the OT, was because, well, technology was not at level where they could do it any other way, and that their equipment was suited for the battle perfectly, such as the logs tripping the walkers. :eh:

Ewoks are cute and cudely, sure. But they really could not stand up to an army equiped to deal with them. The Empire obviously did not know about the Ewoks, and that is the only reason they failed to win the battle.

As for you BlueSaber, you and only you and your "13 muses" agree with you concerning Yoda. That truly is a dumb statement, that is the first time I've heard any flack concerning Yoda, and I'm sure that besides from you and your "13" it will be the last.

Ewoks are not that bad either, could they stand against a properly equiped army, no. I could think of a couple of people who could kill them all single handedly.

Stormtroopers still got killed in the battle of Endor. The Ewoks were willing to fight to the death, and lose many of their FAMILIES to help the Rebels. They had bows and arrows, wood and a knowledge of the woods. They were out-armed by the trroopers' armour and weapons. I say it was bloody brave of them. They are brave little guys! *cuddles Ewoks.*

And Jar Jar does NOT suck. He may be clumsy and have no real purpose, but he added humour to the story. He had honour and bravery and was willing to fight save Naboo. *Puts a medal made out of a chocolate coin and some string around Jar Jar's neck.

I have no problem with Yoda. He's really great. My muses don't like him because he always preaches to them about how shagging eachother is wrong. They also find his voice to be extremely irritating.

Ya wanna meet my muses? OK. You asked for it. They are creatures that live inside my head and give me inspriration for stories, poems or artwork. They also protect me from the blasted Plot Bunnies. I often have other muses or characters from books, or movies show up, and Yoda is one of the most common. ahh yes, but the act of hiding under the cart eventually led to the release of all the weaponary within the cart, which destroyed and confused a great number of droids, maybe even allowed a few more Gungans to escape back into the swamp.

Jar Jar is way cool - apart from being the first fully cg lead character, he's got a tongue that would just....

Jar Jar was not the first full cgi character. There's Watto, ther's Boss Nass, all the other Gungans, basically all the podracers except Anakin and the Malastarian dude. Jar Jar added comic relief to an otherwise overly serious plot. He was the first character I liked in TPM because a) I didn't have a clue what was going on in the story (I'd never seen the other movies before) and b) I can relate to Jar Jar, being an outcast and a pretty clumsy person myself.

Those characters had cameo roles compared to the involvement of Jar Jar. *He was there from more or less the start to finish. *No one’s ever done that accept in a purely animated form.
The phantom dvd shows a comparison shot between Ahmed and the cg equivalent – don’t get me wrong, I think Ahmed did a great job playing Jar Jar (I can only imagine what it would have been like in Tunisia in a latex suit) – but the cg is sooo much better than the real person. *Why? Because no matter how hard you try, it’s always going to look like a guy in a suit.
Jar Jar was completely alien. *His manerism, him movement, his language were all convincing enough to believe that it was a real character interacting with the human actors – and that character, for the first time, wasn’t from Earth.
Yoda in atoc just raises the bar again, although the main improvements were in facial features rather than body movements. *(the final duel is made more real just be the sheer pace of the fight, rather than the details)

I am Dutch, and used to hear my grandfather speaking it constantly, he wrote my birthday cards in Dutch too, that did look like a European language.

South Africa used to be an English colony, and many Europeans still live there, that one was kinda obvious, for me ayway.

Anyway, on the topic, I think Ewoks were pretty cool, I liked seeing the little guys throw rocks at the stormtroopers. Stormies have a hard time seeing in those helmets, that was just mean!!!!!

I liked Jar Jar in TPM. alhough, I really don't think he fit into AOTC to good, he really stood out in the last one. But overall he was a great addition to the saga, TPM needed him, but AOTC could really have done without him. Gungans as a whole I think look pretty cool, and I really like their weaponry, very natural and earth-friendly, yet still technologically advanced.

Jawas are neat little dudes, they really fit in with their enviroment, as Gungans and Ewoks fit in perfectly with their own.

But I must say, the coolest little dude of them all, is Yoda, without him the saga wouldn't be the same. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I do know that SA used to be a british colony. I aced South African History. It was also a dutch colony. The Boer Wars were between the Afrikaners (The Dutch, basically) and the btitish. I don't actaully remember who one. I did that section about 5 years ago...

We have one of the most diverse cultures in the world. We have Zulus, Vendas, Xhosas, Sothos, Europeans, Chinese, Japanese, Muslim, Hindu, the list goes on and on and on...

Anyways...

Finally, someone who likes the little buggers. I was losing hope for a sec.

As far as rain goes though, I know that we on the east coast of the good ol' US have NONE! But this week we've gotten 4 inches, at last. Only 7 more inches to go to catch us up.

Actually, this is normal weather for late August, early september. At least, it's supposed to be. We've had pretty dry spells in early spring these last couple of years. And no, I'm not feeling any better. I've lost my sense of smell. I can't taste anything, I can barely stop coughing and my ears are blocked.

JediBendu, I'm not saying DarkSaber was good (Gah, I HATED it) but Dorsk 81 was a good character. He needed a bit more depth, but then all of Anderson's characters needed depth. I particularly liked the way he gave his life to save his friends.

Now excuse me while I nip off to have my antibiotic, cough syrup, nasal spray and fever tablets.
