I was talking to the guy working the checkout counter when I bought the AOTC novel. *He said something about watching all six films back to back. *I thought about it for a second and asked him if he would be willing to sit in a theater for about 14 or 15 hours straight watching them all. *He said it depended on a few things (I'm not going to list all of them), but I would do it regardless. *What does everybody else think?

I don't know about sitting in a theater, but I'd do it at my house. It would be a lot more comfortable, you could pause the movie if you need to use the bathroom, and you wouldn't have to take out a loan to get some popcorn and drinks.

I'd do it either way, as long as I'm with friends or maybe even my brother, and we could yack about it as we go. By myself, it'd be less fun, but with friends it'd be great.

I'd be willing to do it!! In fact I already did something similar. About 10 years ago I went to a Star Trek movie marathon. (Please don't hurl large objects in my direction.) They showed the first five movies (Star Trek VI hadn't come out yet.) It lasted about 12 hours but it was a lot of fun. In between movies they had contests like a Captain Kirk impersonating contest, prize giveaways, things like that. The event was almost sold out, there were probably a couple of hundred people there. I would love to go to a Star Wars movie marathon if they had one.

I don't know about a theater. Too many inconviences doing it that way. At home, probably.

I admit that the conveniences of home are a big deal. Nobody wants to shell out the dough to be in the theater all day, but if the theater had some kind of a deal going, that could make it a lot better. I like the idea of contests and give-aways inbetween movies. What I would like the best is getting to watch them all on the big screen. So until I win the lottery and am able to have my own private theater, I'll just dream of this.

Well Master Jason, we all hope you win the lottery...after I win it of course. I would love to go to a Star Wars Movie Marathon, but I would be more comfortable if I was at home.

When Episode 3 comes out on DVD, I plan to watch all 6 movies without stopping. Actually I'm probably gonna do that every weekend!

The only reason I think I would wanna watch the movies back-to-back in a theaterhouse would be because of the digital sound system. If I could get the six DVDs (when they finally do come out) and geta decent home theater system, Id watch em at home. BUt I would definitely need like 15 minute breaks between the films, so wed be able to chat a bit, use the jonh, etc.

I would watch it on my brother's big screen and if they were DVDs. Though, he has the original, original trilogy on VHS, so that would be cool.

I would do the theater thing if it was affordable, especially since I have not seen the OT in theaters before (well, I was 4 when I saw ROTJ so that doesn't count). I am going to watch them at home regardless.

I've already done something familar. When TPM came out
we watched It at the theatre and then went home and watch the OT's. What made it more fun was some of those with us had never seen Star Wars.
So yes I would do it, But rather with a group of friends.

i can't imagine being in a theater that long. even if they did intermissions, it would still be a huge challenge. i don't think i would be able to stand or sit afterwards. but i'd probably do it in a house.
also, here's a question. if you watched all six episodes at once, in which order would you watch them? 1-6 or 4-6 first and then 1-3?

1-6, definitely! Just to say that I did, and can make the final judegement on the PT.

My friends and I are already planning a SW movie marathon. *We're all for it. *Start really early on a Saturday morning. *
The trick is, you just have to get a projector (like what companies use for PowerPoint presentations) and hook it up to your DVD player (or VHS) and project it onto a wall. *Just watched LOTR that way a couple of weeks ago. *Works really well. Then, of course, it'd be better if you have surround sound, but I think stereo works okay, too.
What order? *1-6, definately!

I would. I did in 1997 for the OT. I know they had one in England when Ep 3 was released.Unfortunately they showed Ep3 last.
You need to see them in the correct order.

I would do it.
I would do it either way, as long as I had a group of friends with for the haul.
I'd only do it at a theatre if it was a very special pricing. There would have to be a 15 minute or so break between each film, as well as a half hour lunch break or something between Ep III and IV. And the concessions would need to be severely discounted. IF all those things were to happen, then I'd do it style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif

I did it at home once. Watched all six films during a 16 hour period on a Saturday, and did laundry and stuff while watching. It was a surprisingly productive day. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

These would be my conditions also. But I would LOVE to do it. Especially and most importantly if in a DLP theater.

I watched the whole OT in a theatre back in 1983, but I don't know that I'd make it through all 6 in one day in a cinema.
However the hubby and kids are away for 24 hours this weekend so here's my chance to try it out at home! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

You need do in one day a least once to get feeling of watching as one long story. Also to say you have done it. Taking short breaks for food and other necessities. It only took me a little over 13hrs. Probably do it again but prepfer to do it in a cinema. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

It was fabulous!
I thought I'd be struggling by the halfway mark, but I wasn't at all - I was engrossed by the whole thing.
Still couldn't quite see Eps IV-VI Vader as being the PT Anakin, but then when Hayden's face popped up at the end (even though I knew it would be there and have seen it several times before) it suddenly all clicked and I started crying!

Yep, 13 hours for me too - and that was with a brief break between PT and OT to provide a teenagers taxi service.
I've seen each movie individually since RotS came out (although not 6 nights straight), but the impact of all 6 in one day was amazing!

I had tried to try it once, but when it comes to A New Hope, I think I had lost some of my interest to watch any further... It was different when i watch Lord of the Ring(the 3 series) at one go. I think it was because it was more nicely filmed.

The closest I've come so far is watching the OT while I did laudry and then packed for a vacation.
That said, I'd be willing to do all 6 films, in whatever order, but I don't think I could do it alone.
