Yeah, that was made by Master Replicas (www.masterreplicas.com) and they also have a Luke Skywalker lightsaber from ROTJ like that, with the light up blade and battle sounds, as well as an Anakin Skywalker lightsaber from AOTC. A Luke Skywalker lightsaber from ESB with the light up blade and battle sounds is coming soon.

How do you mean? Isn't made of tougher plastic then the regular ones? It's gotta be cause it's not telescopic. And the advert seems to boast of some kind of magical plastic.

Darth Vegas

These things are cool, but I'd rather have an actual prop replica, preferably one with the autographed plaque by whatever actor used it in the film.

You're not supposed to play with them, they aren't made for that.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Q: Can I use my Force FX lightsaber for dueling?

A: This product should not be used to strike others. Although the blade is very durable, it should never be used for fighting or dueling. The Force FX lightsaber was produced by Master Replicas as a collectible; it was not intended for dueling.[/b][/quote]

Well that sucks. What you gonna do with it then - wave it around in a threatening manner? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/saber.gif

It's a display piece, you're supposed to have it on a stand or something. But you can hold it if you want.

What sucks is that the handles are actually bigger than the actual props, and I understand they had to do that to accomadate the electronics, but still.

"Each blade is constructed with true 360° EL (electro-luminescent) lamp technology, housed inside an indestructible polycarbonite tube."

Pretty cool... I guess the $265 price tag is warranted... But they need a nice dark rich red blade http://starwarsdork.com/images/avs-smileys/saber-red.gif

I just bought the AnakinEPIII/LukeEPIV-V Force FX lightsaber at BestBUY, I was contemplating buying one for a while but was undecided, when I saw them at bestbuy that was it, I bought it with a pack of rechargeable batteries, went home charged the batteries and when they were ready I took the saber out of the box, it comes with a stand so you can display it on a wall, the saber is done beautifully, it´s metal and looks and feels exactly like the real props, I understand in the past they had to make them a little bigger than the actual props because of the electronics but now they can make them fit and the saber is the actual size, i unscrewed the bottom placed the batteries and activated it, it came on with the activaion sound and the blade lit up, just as a real one would do, (light from bottom to top) not like the cheap hasbro ones, then the hum sound was incredible, you swing it around and the pitch of the hum changes, perfect, you strike something and you get a clash sound, i´m not sure how many sounds it has but there is quite a few, you can try striking something and you'll get different sounds everytime, and when you deactivate it same thing, the sound and the blades goes from top to bottom.

This is my best SW purchase by far, it is worth the $120

Park Saber's are the best I think. They are more sturdy, but I'm pretty sure he said they are not meant to strike another park saber. By saying the polycarbonite tube is virtually indesctructible, he's saying that if you dropped it, it wouldn't break. BUt continued beating of it against another one would cause dings and scuffs that would make it look pretty crappy and could damage the electronic in the hilt.

Of of the things I like most about the Park Sabers is the detachable blade. So you can hang it at your belt without the blade dragging the ground if you want

Frendon
05-09-2005, 04:01 PM
Yeah Ive´s seen those, not quite the same, they are more expensive, the cheapest one costs $200, the most expensive $439 and you don´t get any of the cools effects, hum, clash sounds, activation, deactivation, it's basicly just light and not actually a replica of any saber seen on film.

Frendon

now, been able to detach the blade is something I like, but can live without, I´m not planning on taking it anywhere aniway.

Yea a bunch of us at CIII bought MR sabers. I bought Anakin's EPIII saber. I brought it up to work and everyone played with it. It is by far the coolest toy I have ever had.

I'm going to be buying the Vader one soon. Target.com has them for $99 last time I checked. They also had free shipping last time I checked also. Its the new Vader one with the power up and down effects and that takes 3 batteries instead of 6.

On another note. At the CIII opening cermonies they had 2 guys do a choreographed duel with MR sabers and they held up the whole way through the 5 minute or so long duel. I think MR puts on there that you aren't supposed to hit them against another one just so in case it breaks you can't demand a refund.

05-09-2005, 05:46 PM
Yeah, they are really durable, but i won´t take my chances, I just found out about the target.com price a while ago style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif, anyway I would have had to wait and I'm an impatient person.

I'm getting Vader's soon. I just have to wait a little bit til I get my bonus at work.

Mace Windu's comes out in July correct? I really want that one. I hope they bring out a new version of the Luke ROTJ one too. Those are my two favorite.

I have a Question I'm thinking of buying a Replica Lightsaber of Luke Skywalker's From ROTJ. My Question is are these lightsabers made for fighting in a Lightsaber battle? or are they just collectibles?

Does anyone know what the difference (if any) there is between the Luke ESB force FX lightsaber and the new Anakin one as far as the mechanics go?

The lady running the booth at CIII told me that the blade isn't as bright and it takes more batteries. She also said the lighting effects (the blade going up and down) isn't as well done (or not there at all on some models).

Basically the main difference is less batteries and brightness though. That and I think the newer series has better motion detectors for when you swing it around.
