Ok, wrap your minds around this. In TAB Anakin told Leia he'd always be listening if she needed him, and when has she ever needed him more, than now? Never. So I think Anakin Skywalker might appear to Luke or Leia.

I don't think they should have killed him off in the first place, he was beginning to be a pretty good character. Plus they could have made his dreams come true and have made him into another Darth Vader. What better than fighting the Yuzhaan Vong and a powerful Dark Jedi, carnage, carnage, carnage!

I think it would be awesome if he showed up again.

Maybe I should clarify, I meant Anakin Skywalker. But I can see how you'd make the Solo connection. But Anakin Solo wasn't born at TAB's timeframe.

I think Anakin Skywalker has already made an appearance in the NJO. *Remember that voice Jacen heard during his vision in BP telling him to "Stand firm"? *I think that was Granddaddy Anakin.

Oooohh creepy!!! I'll have to re-read that part.

I thought that was Luke, but I could be wrong.

He said it sounded like Luke, but wasn't Luke.

I agree that having Anakin Skywalker in the NJO would be really cool. But fan-boy wishes aside, what point would Anakin's return have in the NJO? What advice could he offer Luke and Leia? I really see no reason for Anakin Skywalker to return from the dead or the force or wherever Jedi spirits go. Anakin Solo is a different story and after SbS I really thought he'd be back. But according to Del Rey that's not the case.
I guess my point is: If Anakin Skywalker did come back, what would he do/say to his children to help the fight against the Vong?

Ani won't return until AFTER episode III. Then his character will be finalized per GL and free for EU. Forgot about the BP voice. I too thought it was grandpa Skywalker.

Anakin's spirit will help fill in the blanks of the Skywalker history. But he won't appear during the Vong storyline. He can only contractually appear after episode III.

I think having Anakin in the NJO would be total crap. I'd rather see Obi-Wan or Yoda. Anyway, it should just be about Luke and the new Jedi. I think that's why it's called "The New Jedi Order" instead of "The Old Jedi Order."

I think having Yoda or Ben come in the shimmery blue would be cool, but I think that Jaju Skywalker ( grandpa) would be the best choice. The jedi are having this huge struggle with the force and how to use it. Who better to give advice than someone who is 'one' with the force? Plus, he could provide a interesting character reed, this jedi whose family has gone so much change and now he gets to come back and check it all out. He could see his grand kids, they could see him. *Jeianni's eyes start to mist over at the very sappiness of it.*

I never heard of Jaju Skywalker before, where did that one crop up?

Actually , Obi-Wan can't come back, he is now fully one with the force, remember the "Hand of Thrawn Trilogy".

Dude did say that the voice sounded like Luke but it wasn't.

Near the beginning of the first book of "H.O.T.T." Obi-Wan appeared to Luke for the last time, and said that from that point forward he would not be able to advise him.

Obi-Wan can't come back, and Yoda had no connection to Anakin Solo, so if anything it has to be Anakin.

Actually, it was the Thrawn Trilogy not the Hand of Thrawn Duology. It was in Heir to the Empire.

I thought the reason Kenobi gave was lame and vague. The real reason was licensing. I think once all the movies are done, anyone can come back to advise or not.

I think that if Anikin did come back that he would be able to teach the others how to feel the Vong in the force. Just before he died he could feel everything int he room, including the Vong. He learned something very important that i think the otehr characters need to learn if tehy hope to win at all.

Well, since the Thrawn Trilogy was written six years before Lucas even began working on the Prequel Trilogy, my guess is that licensing wasn't an issue.

But, Obi-Wan just said that he wouldn't be able to appear to Luke anymore because the distance between them had grown to great (there's a whole theory I've created about him being "anchored" to Luke, but that's for another discussion). This still leaves room for him to communicate with others through links to the physical world other than Luke, and it certainly would be possible for him to be one of the spectral hauntings met by the young Jedi in Reunion.

Jacen could do this just as easily with his new understanding and perception of the Force, and without the hassles of having to die in a blaze of glory, have his body incinerated, and come back to one of his siblings from "beyond the grave." style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

I thought that happened in Zahns Heir to the Empire...but I could be wrong...I remember Ben saying he could not see Luke anymore, and I thought Anakin visited Leia as well...
