Hey, all. I'm Wil, and um...only way you'd know me would be part of the e-mail I sent to Nathan that was read on Chronoradio recently. I'm working on my audio drama debut, and it's one ambitious project, to be sure. Gold Squadron follows a group of X-wing pilots through pivitol points of New Republic history, and my first 4ish episodes deal with the Battle for Courascant.

Ooh, that's what I was gonna suggest! You should hit up Michael Haspil for Loor. He played Loor in Matted and that would give some continuity within the fan audio "universe." He's Rogue428.
And, yes, folks, I've read the first script for this series. It's *really* good, IMHO. This could end up being an awesome series.
I can do a British accent... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

Anyone who has an idea what character they would wish to audition for should record themselves saying the lines listed beneath the character and send them to me.

Hope Crewman: Male or Female, small New Republic part.
Hope Crewman: Not a problem. That’s what we’re here for. Hold tight, we’re on our way.
Hope Crewman: Alright, we’re ready to pick ‘em up.
I may be interested in this part, since it's a small role. How much is this character featured, and is it only for the first episode? And should the first line be said as if spoken into a comm unit or something?

Hi,
I'd be intersted in auditioning.
If you look in the peoples section of SW Fanworks, for Michael Smith, you'll find a listing of my work.
If you still wish me to record an audition line let me know.
JaggedFel

The Hope Crewman has a total of four lines, all small, and is only in the first episode. All lines are as if spoken into a comm unit with one of the X-wing pilots.
And I'd love to have you aboard, Mr. Smith. Let me know who you would be interested in auditioning for, or just record the lines beneath the character and send 'em off to me.

Okay. I'll try those lines probably sometime tomorrow and will send them to you right away. (Cool; this could be my first part in someone else's radio drama. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif )

Would be nice to see a Female Admiral in the Imperial Navy. I imagine with Isard running things, that would be a bit more common. If you're interested in the part of Dienat, it's five lines, and probably only in the one episode.

Hi,
I'd be interested in either Commander Adrian Unis or Lieutenant Vash Gradnick.
I'll record the lines in the next couple of days, I've suffering with a cold at the moment, and my voice sounds terrible.
JaggedFel
02-21-2004, 02:03 PM
Not a problem. Yeah, Vash and Unis are definatly major roles, tons of lines.

02-22-2004, 05:42 PM
How big is the Vash part? I would love to do it but only if it's not an absolutely huge part.
Or maybe one of the smaller parts.
I played Lawg Skrak in No Way Out. Can you use that as an audition?
Let me know.

Vash has twenty some odd lines, this episode. He's not a huge part, but deffinatly might be in the future.
Lant and Unis are even bigger parts. I enjoyed you're preformance incredibly, however, in an effort to keep everything fair, I'd appreciate it greatly if you recorded those two lines and sent them my way.

I've been away for a little while now, but would be interested in participating. Sounds like an interesting story...

Wil, if you're looking for those cameos we were discussing, you might catch me later about the character Chadd Duneskimmer. He's the rookie pilot that Channus intimidates in Addiction, and I'd bet Edward Gore would be up for reprising that role if you needed a replacement pilot or something for the squadron. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tie.gif

E-mail address sent. Auditions are starting to arrive, and I'll be making desicions as the days, or weeks, depending on role, go on.

OKay I'll try to have them by tomorrow. Don't know if the e-mail is going to work though. I've been having mega problems.

Oh deffinatly, Nathan. Remember, this is about a squadron, and I've only introduced six pilots. That means six more, before I even think about replacements.
Nathan Butler
02-23-2004, 09:01 PM
Did you hit up Haspil about reprising Loor from Matted?
JaggedFel
02-23-2004, 09:05 PM
Mmm. Not yet, thanks for reminding me.
LawgSkrak
02-24-2004, 04:49 PM
So you have six more pilots to be cast? Any that are fairly big parts but not too big?
Couldn't get the files off to you today. E-mail is still giving me trouble.
JaggedFel
02-24-2004, 05:40 PM
And the role of Kirtan Loor goes to Michael Haspil.
And the role of Hope Crewman goes to Michael Mays.
I am going to be writting in six additional pilots, but not until the second episode. Who knows how big any of those parts will be.

Got anyone for Vash yet? I'd be willing to give it a go...

Nothing for Vash yet, and I do still need an Admiral Dienat.
The role of Unis has gone to Michael Smith.
The role of Lant has gone to Christopher Walker.
Steve Mollmann
02-27-2004, 09:58 PM
Well, here's a Dienat audition:

Admiral Dienat shall be played by Steve Mollmann. That just leaves Vash, folks.

Guess that means my chances are slim. You did get my audition, right?

I'm actualy not sure if I got the audtions or not. I don't think so. Better try again, if you want to go out for Vash. And let's not forget, this is only for the first episode. Once I finish with this one, there's a whole crap load of my parts to audition, which'll be in a few months, I'd imagine.
Soontir Solo

Whats this all about?
Nathan Butler

And Soontir ventures into the audio area. Another longtime poster steps aboard. Welcome to the dark side. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/trooper.gif
The board is dedicated to Star Wars fan audio productions and their home at Star Wars Fanworks. In this case Wil here (JaggedFel) is working on the beginnings of a Star Wars Fan Audio Drama series called Gold Squadron, which will feature an all-new team of X-wing pilots in a series of episodes that begin just before the New Republic assault on Coruscant and continue through that battle and beyond, running parallel to the events in the X-wing novels with Rogue Squadron.
So far, I've seen the pilot script (no pun intended) and it looks to turn out very well.
If you haven't checked out any audio drama projects yet, try this:

Greetings,
I'd love to try out for Vash if the role is still open for auditions (which I assume it is). I'll whip up a recording of the lines and send it to you today.
Cheers and blessed be!

I'm going to leave the audition for Vash open until March 2. At that time, the auditions will be over with for this episode.

Alright,
Here (http://216.127.80.218/vashaud.wav) is the audition file for Vash. I'll also send the file to you via e-mail as well.
Cheers and blessed be!

HEy maybe you guys could have Lawg Skrak in an episode and I could be in it that way. If you have an episode that takes place after the Jedi Academy books, Skrak is working quite frequently for NEW Republic Intelligence at that point.
I don't know just a thought.
Let me know.

One more day to go on that Vash audition, guys.
Newsflash: Huzzah! Finally got a working microphone, so expect a Gold Squadron trailer sometime soon. I hope by the end of the week, but we shall see.
Nathan Butler
03-01-2004, 08:54 PM
Wait, if you have a trailer . . .
That means that we can launch your page once it's ready. Woohoo!
JaggedFel
03-02-2004, 07:28 PM
Bamn. Audtions are over. Expect an anouncement later on tonight for Vash.
Nathan Butler
03-02-2004, 08:14 PM
Wil: Once you have 'em all, pass 'em along to me and I'll put up a news byte. Or, if you want to pass me along a finished trailer to go along with that info, I'll put up a news byte and launch your page at the same time.
JaggedFel
03-02-2004, 08:52 PM
Mathew Gordon will play Vash.
Not sure when the trailer will get done. I've got a lot of homework tonight, but will try and see if I can finish it when I get done. If not, then on Thursday. Tomorrow I've got Dramafest all day, I'll be onstage without my pants on for awhile. Ah, acting. Such a degrading past time.
