Star Wars Fanworks is pleased to present the sixth episode on the ongoing Star Wars fan audio drama series, Star Wars: Anthology. Today, we premiere Anthology: No Way Out, an original tale written by Sean Koury (who now brings his fan-favorite fanfic character Lawg Skrak into the fan audio field) and mixed by the series' new second mixer, Steve Fluharty.
The tale takes place during the Clone Wars era and brings back Adam Bertocci's "Prevoda Vatil" character from Doubts Cast, the Reftiyu and Ferri'sol systems of Second Strike, and other familiar faces to fan audio and fan film enthusiasts.
Enjoy, folks! The true multi-creator vision for Anthology finally begins with this episode.

Very cool. The sound mix was extremely well done - makes me a little nervous about how mine will sound in comparison.
But, I think the highlight of the story was the way too brief appearance of the Holdenus Flight Controller. He really brought something to the story that should have been expanded on.

I'm glad you're all enjoying it. I'll be sure to point Steve to the thread if he hasn't seen it yet.
This was really the reason why, when I finished up with my five episodes of Anthology, I wanted the entire creative team to shift. There are a lot of talented people out there, Steve definitely being one of them, and I wanted to showcase that. At one point, Steve would hvae been the mixer on the "Context" audio drama series, but after I cancelled that, I heard his demo to join the team and it was excellent. Hence, he's now doing "No Way Out" and "To Overcome" and may be interested, if time permits later on, in being the mixer for "Nothing Changes." We'll just have to see.
I may ask him if it's alright to post his audition mix clip so you can hear why I was so enticed to bring him in. It was quite good.

whoa! Steve is frelling BRILLIANT! managed to make even my poopie file sound good, and i'm pretty sure we've already established that the sound quality of my recordings is usually crud.
and, lol, i dunno if Lawg's supposed to be funny, but dude cracked me up! maybe it's the voice, or the delivery, or maybe it's the lines themselves, but i'm still grinnin.
;oD
only had 1 problem and it might have been my own winamp setup that did it. when the background sounds got loud, the dialogue was pretty much completely drowned out for me. i may just have to play with winamp's equalizer a bit to get that fixed, though...
and, oh yeah, one more thing. is Sean Koury from Canada...?
;o)

Yeah, Sean's Canadian.
And, Amy, he was also in Second Strike, with some pretty bad file issues, but still in there. Try to find him without looking at the cast list. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

Hey a fellow Canadian! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif
Good work to all the cast & crew. I was VERY impressed. The sound mixing is excellent! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

For those interested, I've put Steve's Jedi Duel demo file up on the No Way Out page so you can see how he got the "job."

Glad everyone liked it. For the second one, does anybody have any opinions on which era it should be set in?

Anything that doesn't conflict. :-P
Nah, actually, I'd go for NJO era, since it'd be a chance for Vong voices in an audio drama.

Yeah I was kindo of thinking an NJO period story would be fun.

Well, bring back Cheedoto. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
Actually, maybe if you're wanting to do one as another Anthology episode, we can figure out a way to work in some previous characters, presuming that they're still alive at that point and the actors want to reprise the roles.

I considered an Anthology story about Shista in her younger days, but I haven't figured out quite how to pull it off. My thought was to delve into the dark recesses of why she turns most men away, and have it sort of be an unconsummated love story type of tension between her and another girl who escaped from the same orphange, all punctuated with music from ONLY Enigma with the girl singing, T.A.T.U., and Evanescence.
Hadn't worked out any details yet, but I may in the future if you're up for another Shista tale. It'd be fun to really shock some people with Second Strike's most shocking character.

Tatu in a SW audio drama?
Dont know how you're gonna pull that one off, but good on you if you do style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
Though I think the rest of that idea is awesome. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

Play the Russian version only was what I was thinking.

I was thinking of doing it as another episode of Anthology. But now ideas for a trilogy are forming in my rotting skull style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
I don't know. I'll have to talk to Steve, see if he can do a two or three parter. Maybe I'll tell the Lawg Skrak: Endings story in audio form. Now that would be pretty cool.
But probably too big. If I did that we'd have another Second Strike on our hands. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
Maybe an adaptation of one of my fanfic stories? I don't know. The Possibilities are endless.

That'd all be up to Steve. At this point, he still has one or two coming, though.

Heh. I mean, *I* understand it because I took Russian for a while in college, but few else will.
And, for the record, the English songs are not even remotely translations. They translate the "theme" of the songs, but not the lyrics by far.

OKay, I have a basic outline for the next Skrak audio drama. Expect to hear more soon. Have to talk to Steve about it.

Well, I've officially turned over Nothing Changes to Steve and after that, as far as I know, I'm not writing any more audio dramas myself. Steve's done great with NWO and TO, and now doing NC, but I still feel somewhat like I'm imposing at times, so I don't want to push other stuff his way without him offering and such. He's got Blue Harvets going on too.
So, if that sequel happens, it'd be between you and Steve, and if you'd want to put it under the Anthology banner again, that'd be great.

Steve actually said he would do it already, but that was a while back. I'm willing to wait until his schedule clears up, as I have a lot of other Broken Allegiance stuff going on right now that is keeping me busy.

I’d like to help bring back Skrak but, as Nathan mentioned I’m working on another project know as well as Nothing Changes and every time I revert back to that script I swear it keeps getting bigger. Before I give an honest yes. I want to hear your pitch for Lawgs next crusade.

Hey Steve
Basically all I have right now in the way of ideas for a second Skrak story is this:
It is set during the New Jedi Order period. Skrak goes to the planet of Botella Prime (where he grew up) after the Vong have taken it over. An important New Republic person is there and he has to try and rescue him.
As I said that is just a very basic idea that I have, which is subject to change. It's based on a story I was going to send to SW Gamer, but then they were cancelled.
Let me know what yout think.

Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that the script for the second one is just about finished. (Although I'm temporarily not at home, so I don't have access to it to finish the thing style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif) Hopefully Steve will like it and have time to do it.
Also, Nate, have you heard anything more about the radio thing involving NWO and the other Anthology episodes. If so any info you could give me would be great. Fan response etc etc.

Nice to see another script working out. Again, it'll all be up to Steve what he does with it, or doesn't. Right now, I know he's working on Nothing Changes, and that's a pretty heavy burden. I'm hoping not to have to lean on him in the future, so that he won't, y'know, feel like I'm just saying "eh, I can't mix this, you do it," y'know?
As for the radio thing, I'm still waiting on word from Jeremy Barlow, the editor at Dark Horse that I worked for. He has posed the question of legality to LucasLegal, but hasn't heard back. Once I get a definite "yes, it's okay, so long as it's non-profit," then I'll tell Emon (the radio station guy) that we're good to go.
What I know for sure is that *if* we get a go-ahead to do it at all, Emon has looked through the site and has requested to air Second Strike and the Anthology episodes *only* thus far. He has taken a pass on the others, though I think it's on first-sight, rather than actually listening at this point.
