View Full Version : McCallum Scouting Gothic Castle Locales

Rick McCallum recently confirmed that he is scouting Gothic-Style castles in both Scotland and the Czech Republic. I think that the use of this new location would be an awesome edition to Episode III. My question is what do all of you think that the location could be for? I think it would either be some sort of Sith Castle, possibly either Sidious or Vader's lair, or it could be where Bail Organa lives on Alderaan. I personally like the idea of a Sith Castle better.
Let me know any ideas that any of you may have that either agree with or differ from mine.
I could see it as the lair of Sidious after he assumes command. Or an ancient Jedi temple. I think Sith Castles are gone by the time of this trilogy.

I think it'll be the catacombs of the Jedi temple - the scene will be yoda searching through the Sith holocron, looking for a way to beat the dark side, finding a way to retain his identity after death. :yoda:

JediBendu that is another possible idea that deserves some consideration. I like the fact that you mention Yoda searching for the Sith Holocron because we know that it exists but have yet to see or hear of it yet.
By the way, not to seem like I am kissing booty or anything, because those of you familiar with my posts should know by now that I will initiate a conflict before bowing down to anything I don't agree with (I am classified as a Strong Type A Personality after all), but I have to give you props Bendu because your Avatars and tag lines have been extremely comical as of late.

Darth Sidious' lair has already been seen. It's the abandoned building where Count Dooku lands his Solar Sailor at the end of Clones.
It might be Dooku's headquarters.
Alderaan ? I think that the planet of Organa has high futuristic white buildings, not gothic castles.
I like your idea JediBendu, but I wonder how Lucas could introduce the concept of the Holocron in Episode III easily. Nobody in a STAR WARS movie has ever mentionned the Sith Holocron ( or the Jedi Holocron ).
But it's true that the whole Holocron technology was introduced in the Visual Dictionary of Clones, so it seems Lucas cares about the Holocron.
Who knows ? Episode III's too far.

I think Sith Temple where Vader will finish his training and take his spot next to Palpatine's side.

Yeah, the sith temple seems right for Goth Castles. I meen, if youv ever seen the scetches Ralph Mcquarrie did of "vaders home" then you'll think "heck yes my home skillets, we talkin vada's hang out club" style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

I feel that The castles Maccalum is scouting are for Dooku's Home. After all he is COUNT dooku therfore i feelhe deserves a home but i also feel this is where a battle will also take place I sense a battle where dooku will be defeated, and anakin turns to the dark side also i feel the enviroment around the castle willbe one of Volcanoes etc.. Because i doubt LUCAS would mention that Count Doocku is ASLO the Count of Sereno--A NEW PLANET or Place perhaps? Whatever it i think since it the first priority for McCallum IT SHOULD BE A VERY SIGNIFICANT LOCATION IN EPISODE III

I agree with Kitrak. I think its Dooku's home. It would fit him perfectly, and he seems to be of an aristocratic backround.

Are they outside location shots, or inside the castle itself?
from sw.com:
His birthright as the Count of Serenno also afforded him incredible wealth,
so the location shots could mean we'll see another planet.
...though he had apparently experimented with forbidden lore in the past. Rumors abound that Dooku was familiar with Sith teachings stored within a dark Holocron kept in the Jedi Archives.
They didn't use the term 'sith' holocron, rather 'dark'. I could be wrong but the Visual Dictionary does show a Sith Holocron.
As a sidebar - I heard that 'Dooku' is actually Japanese for Count.

but I have to give you props Bendu because your Avatars
thanx - there's still a few more I haven't used yet either :p

This must (if my theory, that GL is refering to the 'classic horror' genre, when he speaks of 'the vocabulary of a time... the 1930's and 1940's', is correct) be where Dr. Von Palpen-stein has his diaboilcal lab, deep within its bowels, and where Darth Vader will take his first breath.
JMO, though.

Wouldn't that be on Coruscant? Deep in the bowels of a city wouldn't be gothic, more tech and staight lines. Then again, who knows what lies beneath? They oringally had the Imperial throne room deep underground, surrounded by lava.

Not necessarily. He could have an outpost on a remote world somewhere.

Well, it's the same thing, in principle, as American cities such as Philadelphia, Washington D.C., or New York City; many of the ancient (not too 'ancient' really, but 'older' ) structures and *buildings still remain from the time of their original construction, or even the very founding of the city; and many are restored or 'brought up to code' to keep up with the times, standing alongside, even if they are dwarfed by, the more modern skyscrapers that compose the majority of the familiar skylines.
There could be all kind of good, creepy stuff, lurking down there from the distant past.

Or it could be where Count "Dookula" resides, his castle on Serenno.

I think it will be the place where the deathstar plans reside, under supervision of dooku of course. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tie.gif

I think it will be the throne room of sidious. *A room in the secret hide-out where Dooku travels to at the end of AOTC.
It could be here that Anakin's turned to the darkside is completed. *A similar situation as in ROTJ throne room on the death star II.
Of course, I don't think it will be the same situation.
It could actually be the location in which the final battle between Obi-Wan, Anakin and a rumoured Owan Neug, takes place.

This is exactly what I was thinking the first time I heard this. It sounds like a prime location to add some CGI lava (I mean, they already did rain and fog, it's time to do molten rock).

I'm not thinking its going to be a place of great importance. Maybe Bail Organa's home on Alderaan, maybe a Sith Castle, maybe Dooku's home.....
McCallum is also scouting around caves and caverns in New Zealand. Any thoughts on that??

in the original script for ROTJ, we were suppose to see vader's home which was like in caves and near lava and such. maybe we could see that. and wasnt sidious throne in a cave and that's where luke and vader were going to fight a second time? maybe we could see anakin vs dooku there and possibly see anakin lose to dooku and get thrown into the lava (just to surprise everyone of us who thinks it gonna be obi-wan) then maybe anakin has to wear some semi body armor and then fights dooku again as vader and kills him. then goes off to fight obi-wan and loses big time and then has to wear the enitre suit. that'd be so cool to see

Already stated, but....It's going to be Dooku's castle on his home planet, being that he is a count, i.e. Count Dracula and his castle.
Jedi Knight Remone

It could be Dooku's lair and the Jedi (Windu, Obi-Wan, Yoda and Anakin?) find to confront the evil Sith Lord. :saber:
just a thought...

No beacause we've already seen Sidious' lair from AOTC, and it was not a castle by any stretch, it was an abandoned factory.
It has to be Dooku's homeworld, or a new planet that has nothing to do with the Sith.
