Basically it is a numerical sequential pattern involving all the numbers from 1-26, representing the letters in the alphabet. For instance:

1-1 is one letter used for a two initial name. example: Gilbert Gottfried, G-G

1-2 is one leter and the next letter after that for the initials. example: Ringo Starr, R-S

1-3 is one letter an the next letter after the next sequential letter. example: John Lennon J-L

And the inverse initials:

2-1 is one letter before another used with its predecessor in the initial. example: Richard Pryor, R-P

3-1 is opposite of 1-3. example: Harrison Ford, H-F

Yup. Its an awesome instrument. Very simalier to a guitar, but it shreds your calouses(sp) so its kind hard to play both.
