Yoda seems like he needs to be more involved and he got more involvment in AOTC. However, his duel was not complete. Besides who wouldn't want to see Siddious have a light-saber duel with the Great Yoda?

I wouldn't. That would be absolutely ridiculous.

I think that would be so funny.
Not a lightsaber duel, but a knowledge of the force duel. That would be the coolest thing ever. the Masters of both sides of the force duking it out. Maybe we could see Yoda shooting light too. All in all, Yoda would lose becasue we know he's afraid of the Emperor. Yoda and Obi-Wan also knows alot about the Emperor's tactics so it could happen.
But i agree with Justin, a lightsaber duel would be more outrageous than the Episode 2 duel. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/y.gif

I agree that it wouldn't be right, besides, why does every force capable being need to have a lightsaber? Sure, it was kind of cool to see Yoda with one, but let's leave it at that, please.

I really don't undertand the visceral negative reaction I see some people display at this idea. I'd love to see an unmasked Darth Sidious wield a lightsaber and tangle with the green one. I can just see Sidious' ever-aging face, gazing almost kindly upon Yoda; calmly, appearing, at first, to be an old trusted friend, but speaking in an increasingly alarming fashion, taunting him with his every carefully chosen word; and then contorting with horrific rage when he attacks (a lot like ROTJ, but with a red lightsaber instead of Force lightning).
Anyway, I want to see someone more intimately committed to the Sith cause in the long run, than a relative newcomer and (soon to be vanquished) pawn like Count Dooku, go up against Yoda.
That's just my view. And I realize that I will probably be vastly disappointed*...
P.S. I won't even care if they have to put McDiarmid's face on some unknown stunt-man to pull it off. I just wanna see those ever-twitching hands of his hold a lightsaber!
P.P.S. What better duel (after the obi-ani one) to play Duel Of The Fates under? Or better yet, they will be dueling (palpy vs. yoda & obi vs. ani) at the same time. Wonderful!
*Or, more than likely, wonderfully surprised by what actually happens. Let's just hope.

I don't think he would lose because he is afraid of the Emperor. I think he is afraid of him because he lost to him.
that's what I meant Tovor, sorry it looked confusing.

The battle would show after all the answer to Luke's question. "Is the Dark Side stronger?" :yoda:

I thought it was Yoda vs. Gardulla the Hutt in this movie? Have all the spoilers been lying about this?

I should hope so. "Peace out" is uncacceptable. It'll get you a death sentence on 12 systems, so you better watch yourself.

Sorry for getting everyone to go OT. I was simply reciting the kind of intellegent Star Wars discussion you'll usually find on the IMDB message boards.

Heh, heh...too true. Every once in a while I post something there, but am always disappointed with what follows.
Anyway, as far as those two having a lightsaber duel goes, well, I'm surprised. I was convinced that AOTC would be the only time we'd see Yoda use a saber and I never even considered Sidious with one.

*Sargoth puts his "serious" hat back on*
In all seriousness, When I first heard the rumor some 5 years ago that we'd see Yoda with a Lightsaber, I thought "Naaaah, Yoda is too powerful to need a lightsaber." Come the first picture that showed Yoda crossing sabers w/ Dooku, I instantly changed my mind. After seeing the film, I was thouroughly amazed.
When rumors started circulating about Sidious weilding a saber, the first thought that crossed my mind was "Naaaah, Sidious is too powerful to need a lightsaber." Once the first teaser came out that showed a deformed Palpatine swinging his saber with sadistic glee, I instantly changed my mind. After seeing the second trailer that showed Palpatine charging *four* *jedi council* members with his saber drawn, I started drooling. And seeing the brief combat scenes with Yoda has made the following 2 month wait almost intolerable.
The climax of RotS will feature the last two Jedi in mortal combat with the last two Sith. In the nearly quarter-century I've waited to see this film, I never thought up a situation as cool as this. My Inner Geek is cackling with glee!

I'm amazed at how that guy got that they would have them dueling at the same time. Good guess.
I wonder what Justin thought of the duel??
And Sargoth, I never really thought of it as the last two Jedi and the last 2 Sith going at it. It seems so much more powerful when I think of it that way. The Jedi are really fighting for their very survival. I guess I got to used to having hundreds of Jedi around in the rest of the prequels.
