And apparently, I'm loads of fun to the folks at Lucasfilm... from a certain point of view.

I love it when we can throw SW qoutes into normal conversations :p

Hey, I wasn't being mean! I was just referencing Lucas-related film properties.

I think you should apply for Paul's old job, seriously.

They would NEVER in a million years do that. Trust me.

Some GS folks on the C3 webcam movie posted tonight:
Is that me, or Horse in the lower left corner shot? Sometimes I can't tell. Freaky.

I find it hilarious that, even a year later, some sw.com yahoos (http://blogs.starwars.com/Grand_Admiral_Sean8/7/comments) are still sipping The Dark Moose koolaid about the alleged "Karen Traviss Attack/Execution" video.

Just a reminder to the aforementioned yahoos, I tore apart The Dark Moose's barrel of lies here. (http://mrpoesmorgue.com/swds/darkmoosetard/darkmoose.html).

While that is harsh, but I'd say that in general, public persons must indeed be prepared that they can be subjected to harsh criticism. One Star Wars author I genuinely feel sorry for is Curtis Saxton.

What about Stover, the man got death threats!

What about Stover, the man got death threats!

Stover? What for?

Don't believe these "urban legends" too quickly. R.A. Salvatore's alleged death threats about "killing Chewie" were never seen by him, and he only heard that such threats were made. So far, no one has any proof.

What about Stover, the man got death threats!
To my knowledge, Stover hasn't received any death threats. R.A. Salvatore was told that he had received death threats for killing off Chewbacca, but he hasn't seen any himself.

And it's a world of difference between criticizing someone and engaging in criminal behavior and death threats.

The Broox

I thought Salvatore and typed Stover :banghead:

I was browsing the kids section at starwars.com a moment ago and found something interesting. There's a movie time line that excludes ROS. I was wondering if that's because it was made before ROS came out, or because ROS is rated PG-13, which would probably put it above the intended age for the kids section. I would think they could include some information about ROS. I mean, they've sure as heck directed toys, clothing, and school supplies at a younger audience, just to name a few.

If it's just out of date, it's disappointing. There's even a litte 'III' under the timeline, but it's nonclickable. I mean, move it or lose it, ya know? I've always been disappointed when the official site lags with things like these. I may be nitpicking, but they should be able to maintain their site properly. They're the official site after all.

There's a new section on Starwars.com, the Visual Guide (http://www.starwars.com/episode-iv/explore/visualguides/), which includes annotated stills from Episode IV with trivia and movie lore. An excellent idea considering that the Hyperspace section sucks big time nowadays (people should have their money refunded IMO).

I let everything expire. I'm Hyperspace free now. Shame considering I was the first non-Lucasfilm Hyperspace member.

This is somewhat of a rant... My hyperspace account expired in June 2005. Despite how I feel about SW.com, I decided early this year to rejoin again as I felt a little nostalgic towards the old newspaper strips (the Fiction, Galactic Gallery and Photoreceptor sections were also deciding factors). What happened shortly after re-registering? Hyperspace became cheaper as they dropped the Insider from the package and the price was changed from $39.95 to $14.95 for U.S. and Canadian members and from $19.95 to $14.95 for International members (such as myself). What happened then? Hyperspace members had been spared from ads, but then all of a sudden ads started to appear on the OS and Hyperspace without a single word of warning. An explanation wasn't given (http://www.starwars.com/hyperspace/about/news/news20070417.html) until a two weeks' ago. In those weeks since, there hasn't been a single update besides the Variety articles.

EDIT: Oh, there's also this from Pablo's blog (http://blogs.starwars.com/lucasonline/64):

There will be the first opportunity to peek at new Star Wars projects in development, but what you won't see much of are things that remain exclusive in perpetuity. A sneak peek today may break wide next week, appearing elsewhere on the site for everyone to enjoy. And:
Galactic Gallery, Photoreceptor These image series have been discontinued. No plans as to their future. Two of the features I enjoyed the most, and which were part of the reason I renewed my subscription after 18 months, have been discontinued. Hooray.
