Actually no, that's an elf owl... they are THAT size when full grown. That's a full grown elf Owl.

Pigmy owls, too, are about the same size when full grown, but pigmies are noted for a different spot marking (back of the neck... like 2 "eyes").
And the first one is the one that will be playin Ron's new owl in the next Harrpy Poter Movie (as reported to me by Darth Sithster).

You know, in all the Snape fan fic sort of things they're always desribing Snape's voice as "silky." And I just though this was because Alan Rickman plays Snape, and that describes his voice perfectly. But I was rereading the books and there's actually a part that says "said Snape silkily" or something... I mean, I thought Alan Rickman was absolutely perfect for Snape because he totally looks the part... But how crazy that they could find someone who not only looks but sounds the part too??
