Has anyone given any thought as to what we are gonna talk about after Episode 3? Just a thought.

Check out ChronoRadio: Episode II (http://www.starwarz.com/timeline/chronoradio/index.html). There's a segment on that about Star Wars in the post-2005 world.

Well, I fugre there will be years of speculation. Of how George should have done this or that. That will occupy our time. Then it's just us, hanging around here. Growing old, getting fat and sayin things like. "Ah, the kids today. They have no idea how good they got it. Remember having to wait for EPIII?"

WELL, (excuse the caps) THE ("SO CALLED") "ULTIMATE EDITIONS", OF COURSE!!!!
And I'm even avoiding spoilers for that!
BTW (and this question may seem non-sensical in light of my earlier statement) : Is 'Nat confirmed for extra scenes in RotJ' 'confirmed'? (Don't tell me: SERIOUSLY! ) If so, give me the link!!!
Oh, and will Rose Byrne REALLY play Padmé in Ep. III? Will Kevin Sorbo play Vader? That would ROCK!!!!! <GAG>

I highly doubt it will happen, but it would be nice to see some sort of EU on film, like "Tales from a galaxy far, far away...", that would be awesome!

Well, we poke away endlessly about different things in the movies like we always do. Then watch Indy IV and whatever else lucas come up with, then hope the dudes at FOX accept my idea for an X-wing tv series.

<span style='color:#daa500'>What will we do after EP3? The same thing us oldies did after ROTJ when we thought there weren't going to be any more movies... reading the books and watching all the movies over and over again. Eventually we'll be pulling them out for kids and grandkids to watch saying, "No really, these movies were classic... they changed history!"

Well, I figure we're all gonna sit on our duffs and talk smack about what was done right or wrong over the entire trilogy.
Then one of a few possible senario's will occur.
1-(least likely) GL hands the SW reigns in to The Lord of the Rings folks, or Timothy Zahn, for Episode's 7,8,&9.
2-(quasi-likely) GL says "To hell with it," and throws together some rediculous story to quench the sequal fan-thirst.
3-(semi-likely) People produce internet vids and claim them to be "official GL approved sequals."
4-(Pretty damn likely) GL gives up the ghost and buys the farm; there's a mad rush in hollywood to buy out the copyright for an insane amount of cash. The film gets made but the budget is so low (due to the copyright purchase) that nobody bothers with it, the producer goes bankrupt and is forced to live on catfood for the rest of his life, and SW is soon forgotten as the David Hasselhoff of films; all but forgotten in the US, but forever huge in Europe.
But that's just my opinion. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/joystick.gif

it's funny. whenever i'm feeling suicidal i just think to myself, there's no way i could snuff it before seeing the complete star wars saga. there goes that crutch.

Winston: People keep saying it's confirmed, ever since the story "broke" on TFN, but immediately after TFN's "confirmed source" story was put online, a "confirmed source" noted that Natalie Portman didn't know anything about this new footage, and if that's the case, it sure doesn't sound like she filmed it.
So it's "confirmed" as true or "confirmed" as false, depending on who you listen to, making it just a rumor for now.

And even the Sci-Fi channel won't play the new, horrid 'Star Wars' film (or, worse yet, remade 'original trilogy'), because they suddenly have discovered something called 'standards' (yeah, I know... that's not very likely. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif )
But the old movies will get a boost in sales because of the merchandise tie-in factor; much like the old POTA flicks, and, with the suspicious death of Robert Blake's wife, TV's Baretta.
You're right, though; no one will bother because the die-hards will not even set foot in the theater to experience the equivalent of a memory wipe...

I have no doubt that George has written in his will, or in his pact with the devil ;), that his family can NEVER sell the rights to SW in any way, shape or form. So, unless one of his kids decide to become a director, it'll die with George.

first of all, I should go on record stating that the franchise should never be sold, period! *In the event of all GL's immediate family dying, I would accept Spielberg or McCallum as power of attorney for the estate. *Pretty sure they would respect GL's wishes.
But, hypothetically speaking, would an ongoing Star Wars franchise be a bad thing? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/scratchchin.gif
Star Trek is a prime example of what NOT to do with a successful franchise. *But Star Trek isn't in even in the same league. *There's millions of devoted SW fans who'd watch it. *Millions more who would volunteer the time in creating and supporting it. *Most of them [involved in the production of SW] set their standard of work just that little bit higher, for the simple reason that it is Star Wars.
But would it be worth it? *Just to get your daily star wars fix?
What would the continuation be? *6 tele-movies a year, 12 x 1hr series? *Animation? *CG Animation?

What I would like to see is a mini-series on HBO about the Rogue Squadron and if there aren't going to be any more actual movies made, how about some CG animated movies, ala Final Fantasy. I don't know what the cost is for such a movie, but I think that is the only way we will ever see anymore scenes on the big screen.

I think that GL will, oh, in a couple years, want more money again and make some more SW movies. I hope he does some EU. It could work too. I mean they make James Van derbeak (sp?) look like 17 on Dawson's creek and he's like 30, so they could make Han, Luke, and Leia look younger for movies like NJO or something.

after Lucas kicks the rights will go for sale. Universal will buy it and decide to put it on the Sci Fi channel. They'll hire Ronald Moore to rewrite the original in a "re-imagining" of the story. He'll water it down, ruin it, and turn it into a soap opera in an effort to show us a "window" into the everyday life of a regular guy in the Empire.
... sorry if that didn't make sense. It's just me being a bitter BG fan.

If GL can ressurect Palpatine, like in the expanded universe. I would like to see next chapters in the saga. If not I'll just watch the movies over and over again, like I'm doing now and play my star wars video games again.
Palpetine is the supreme villain next to james bond's Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
It could be that GL isn't interested. In that case the fans should send Mark Hamill on a quest to save our universe and take the Skywalker ranche by force (using the force of course)

Lets face it. One way or another, when some of us are old and gray and the rest of us are again one with the force, some Jack-a$$ is going to come along and try to remake the SW saga.
The Special effects will be so fantastic it will send our remaining old-schoolers into cardiac arrest. Pace-makers will stop and artificial hearts will explode. Riots will break out nationwide- nay, *worldwide- as senior citizens collapse into quivering masses of flesh on the steps of holotheaters around the globe.
Unfortunately, this alone will prevent us from generating the much needed public outcry to assuade this disaster from occuring. *
Future Britney Spears's and N'Sync's will litter the televised airwaves with SW Real Worlds and Road Rules.
And then armageddon will occur; SW Survivor. Nations will unite under one leader and one currency, all those without the republic symbol on the their wrists or foreheads will be slain in the streets.
It will be the end of Science Fiction entertainment as we know it.

I'm curious as to how Star Wars fandom will continue on the Net after 2005. I'm sure when the movie comes out, the net will be flooded with fans and their opinions. What happens after the hype? Will fans take down and remove their fansites or let the sites gather dust? I know personally I'm going to create a site that I'll begin in 2005 and upkeep as an archive.
Somehow I think the net is going to be a very lonely place come 2006 in regards to the star wars community. There will be a few of us die hards left as there was between ROTJ and the SEs/TPM.

Don't worry guys, trust me there will be more Star Wars movies after Episode 3, you can count on it!
I wouldn't count on more movies, those tv things that are rumored around the net could happen (and could be cool). Anyway I'll always be a fan. After all the period between ROJ and TPM was kinda fun IMO, you had to do some extra effort to find stuff, but when you got that special figure you looked for it was all the more rewarding.
The only thing is that back then you knew that there would be more films.
And hey, we'll always have the senate to cheer each other up. (as long as 'the boss' decides to keep this site up).

My interest in Star Wars won't change, but my anticipation obviously will. I mean, the saga will be complete. I still enjoyed the OT before the SE came out and I'm sure I will enjoy some of what appears in the wake of the PT. I most likely won't be as excited, but I'll still find things to enjoy. If I do end up wanting to jump back into fandom heavily then I'm sure there will be adventures out there for me to partake in, be it an exceptional novel series, video game or other vessel.

So, I guess someone has to say it, The Starwars Saga will only be only a fond memory in just over a years time. Sure we got the EU {for those of you who follow it, not me} and DvD releases or whatever, but it wont be the same.
Will you even come to The Senate anymore? Will The Senate even exist in just over a year?
It'll certainly be strange, I know I ducked out of The Senate for a year or so, but I knew it was always there if I had anything to ask or was just cruising the net. Much like Starwars, it was just playing in the background.
But what'll happen in a years time?
