Tattoos do hurt. Then they bleed. Then they go al scabby. Then they itch like crazy.

Well, when I have them done there's a big scab all over. After about a week it'll fall off, then it'll start itching.

A Mandalorian War Symbol (right shoulder) and an imperial Logo (left limb). Those are my tattoos... I plan to get more, but I have to save some more money to get the next one. It will be self-made (the design of course), the word "Sith" with blue lightning surrounding the letters...

Very cool, guys! I love those.

One thing I did at Celebration II was stop people with really cool tattoos and ask about them. There was one guy with a huge rebel insignia on his left arm with red, orange, and yellow flames all the way down his arm. He said he designed it himself, it was the coolest thing.

And there was a girl with the outline of the rebel insignia on the back of her neck and upper back and inside of it were the shadows of Vader and Luke dueling, and background was blue, purple, orange and red like a sunset. Beautiful. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

Well, since you can have babies I won't argue that. My tattoo's hurt, but my dragon one has a lot of detaila nd it went numb after a little while so I didn't really feel much after that. The moon didn't quite take as long so it just kind of stung a little.

I have a high tolerance for pain. So I probably WOULD NOT pass out. I've never really been hurt so much that it made me cry. I can only remeber one time. Even since I was little I've had a high tolerance for pain. I got this huge gash on my leg when I was way younger and I didn't even realize it untill I saw the blood seeping through my pants legs. I just get back up and keep going.

Remember these important tattoo lessons in life:

1.) Never get a tattoo in a "ouchie" zone. (take it however you want, everyone has a "ouchie" zone.)

2.) When getting a tattoo, breathe. Being in the hospital because you passed out in the chair from holding your breath doesn't get the tat finished quicker.

3.) Start small. If you think a tattoo is going to hurt (which they sometimes do.) start with a tiny one. They can be covered up with something larger later if your sure that's what you want.


4.) No Pain? Drink Beer!!! Just kidding they usually won't tattoo you if your drunk but there are times.....

I was out on South beach a few years ago and we were sitting behind four women. They all took off their tops, which topless is normal for South Beach. Everyone was staring at them . I got up and walked down to the water and turned to see what everyone was staring at. They all had a tatoo across their chests that formed a flowing pattern....It was way cool. A beautiful pattern. The one thing that stops me from getting a tattoo is what if I grow old and suddenly I don't like it/them anymore? Yeah I know, you can just get them lasered off, but it's the principle off the matter lol. Also I think some people tend to put more poetic thoughts and meaning into tattoos than they really deserve. It's an unnatural mark. You can be just as poetic or enlightened or harmonious, or just basically still be 100% you without a tattoo. Too much out of too little I say. It's like this new thing with high school kids nowadays (no I'm not in highschool but it wasn't that long ago) who draw X's all over their hands to signify they are still cool but they don't do drugs and are vegan and whatnot. Okay great so you're as smart as the majority of people in not doing drugs, and you either care a great deal about your health or, even in a misguided way, have heart enough to care about lesser animals, but do you really need to draw the X's all over your hands to let people know? It's no different. It's nothing more than a stylized, fancy blemish. Now you could say "then why would people buy custom or fancy cars/computers/ etc." Well I say to you that things such as those are fundementally practical. Tattoos are not practical. It's just excess. You could say "why get anything that is not necesary that you find enjoyment in?" Well I say to you that most things like tht are not unnatural marks on your personal body. You can point out earrings and jewelry and certain other kinds of piercings (which other than standard earrings I am against as well but that's for another topic...). Well I say to you these things can be removed easily and readily.

Basically I just find tattoos to be devoid of any purpose whatsoever other than it's something that looked pleasing to you so you want it on you. It's like a dog rolling around in something that smells insanely disgusting. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

I LOVE my tattoo. It has nothing to do with looking cool. Rarely does anyone see my tattoo, I certainly don't show it to my students. But it symbolizes who I am, a devoted Star Wars fan. And it symbolizes the pain I went through to get it. Some people, like my ex, have been saying they are going to get a tattoo for years, but they never will.

I never pierced my ears, because I am not a girly girl. I got a tattoo, because it means something.

a representation of a king piece from a chess board - or more specifically the symbol you'd see on a 2D board like in a newspaper... It's on the small of my back.

My wife has the queen symbol, we got them together as engagement presents... and that's the only thing that's made me want to get one.

Seriously, it doesn't hurt as much as alot of people say it does - unless you're getting it near a bone. Try something small on your back or on your upper arm or something. You'll barely feel it. It'll sting a bit, but that's about it. And it should heal up pretty quick if you take good care of it.

time everytime I decided to have one done to actually find the time and money to

get there... (excuses) I'd got the 1st one when I was 18 (the unckle), the 2nd

one when I was 24 (and egyptian tatoo i have on my back/shoulder) and the 3rd

one at 26... 1 month ago.... (my lower back) style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happydance.gif and I'm really happy style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif

with them... it only takes a few minutes (each took me like 40' tops) and it's not

^ i think he means how much do they cost. well a tattoo will never cost under 60 dollars (if it a good establishment) because the ink costs that much. my back piece, which isnt that big ( you can see it if you scroll back a few pages) was $275, although it isnt that big, it required a lot of skill and i wanted someone who was talented, so do your research! remember a tattoo is forever, and you want the best possible one! cost shouldnt be a factor.

i also have a cross on my foot which is about a inch and a half, that cost 60. check on line for local tattoo places, that look good to you. i would NEVER just walk into a parlor.

all in all, the price is left up to each individual artist. my advice is to check out various places, bring in a picture of what you want and ask the prices, but dnt forget, sometimes, cheap price, means crappy tattoo. Thats why checking web pages is the best idea, because usuall each artist posts his or her past work.

In the future, I plan on getting something that will cover just about all of my back, from the top of the tailbone to the base of my neck. I just have to find the perfect image of Vader. There was a screensaver I saw a few years back that had Vader walking out of a wall of fire. Except for the fire, that was the perfect pose. Vader's walking towards you, cape flaring out behind, ignited lightsabre in his hand . . . probably about 3-5K if I want it done right.</span>
