Hey, kids.

I was feeling nostalgic the other day and was wanting to read some old Senate RPG's. But I was never involved in any Sith Temples, so I'm not really interested in that. I'm looking for some old Party RPG's or some crazy adventure stories that The Old Senate revelled in. So if anybody has any of them saved, please shoot me an e-mail or an IM. I would appreciate it.

A few of the main titles I'm looking for:

Any of the Party threads

"Fast Times at Coruscant High"

"A Day at the Mall of Coruscant"

I don't care if they're incomplete, as long as I can at least read a little bit of it.

SHAME SHAME on you for not getting in on the Sith Temples...ya woulda added some levity at the right times :-D

Anyhoo, It JUST so happens, purely by CHANCE of course that I have an Old Party one...circa 00......just...gotta...ya'know...FIND the dang thing (It's the one where Anthony was Dark Lord of the BITH...NOT Sith style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif) style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif

Ah, the good old days...

I wasn't there of course, but I remember watching Leia and Justin posting in the RP threads. I actually joined the Old Senate, but I never got on... damn shame too.

Justin didn't do RP. I don't have anything saved except the Sith Temples :o( And only from like 9 or 10 to like 15. I wish I had number 8 cause I think that's when I started. Anybody have #'s 7-9?

Your name had something to do with Luke, didn't it GB?

Seanakin

The only thing I have saved are extant portions of a certain wedding, and only because it was such a great patchwork of daily ideas and seat-of-the-pants writing.

Plus I loved setting up two grand entrances only to reveal at the last minute that nobody had hired a minister. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

Leia
09-18-2003, 02:17 AM
Yoda ended up being the minister in a lot of those weddings... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif There was a rash of "weddings" at one point. I was supposed to get married, but I never did style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif lol

Seanakin

Mine had Luke Skywalker showing up that day just because he had heard we had Kyp Durron tied to a chair and strung up to the ceiling as a "negotiator" to ensure harmony between the Jedi and Sith in attendance. Luke wound up doing the marrying in that one.

Kinda proud of having invented that little deus ex machina solution. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

Sorry Bun old chap, I only kept the Temple, but I remember the threads you speak of very fondly indeed. Thanks for stirring up the memories.

But Leia, you might be able to help ME. The earliest Temple I have is 11. I'd love to get a hands on copies of anything you have earlier. Think you could send 'em my way? I'd super appreciate it. ... Super, Leia.

Man, I loved that series so much I performed the (admittedly a bit rude) act of spell-checking and editing absolutely everything I had, rearranging posts so the story flowed more smoothly and such, and above every one in big, bold black leterring was THE SITH TEMPLE; EPISODE ## - ENTER TITLE HERE. I didn't want to upset anyone so I made sure to keep the originals.

Anyone else remember the Egyptian RPG? Heh, that was when I bacame Grim Jackal. That was a fun one too. Damn, we had some golden stories back then. Not to be rude (again...) but you can't get that sort of emphatic RPing on crowded message boards.

Darth Bun

I remember wanting to rip my hair out over a certain Egyptian god in the Singles Cantina. The only thing I have from the old Senate is one of the Fan Fics I started, that's all. And I missed the wedding...

One thing I miss: Darth Bun's Brand Spankin House. I fix the place up, then the whole neighbourhood gets demolished. Hmm, almost sounds like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that...

Grim, I hate to tell you this, but I lied. If I did have Sith Temples from before 11, I've lost them style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif I have one disk that's labeled Sith Temple followed by what looks like the roman numeral six (which makes no sense whatsoever since I wasn't around for number six) but when I looked on the disk there was absolutely nothing on it. And yet, it won't let me save anything else... So if there is anything on it, for some reason I can't access it. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif So I'm sorry. By Anthony (Anthony) on Wednesday, April 18, 2001 - 08:22 pm:

1.)What would you say is your favorite movie of all time?

This is sooo hard. Shawshank Redemption was fantastic and still a movie that I can watch over and over again. It's got to be in the number one or two spot.. Then there's the Sting. Another personal favourite. Love that movie. Fight Club was exceptional... Casino... Good Will Hunting... Arrgh! There's too many choices!

2.)What would you say was the best movie of 2000?

I can't remember 2000 When was Fight Club released? It was 1999, wasn't it? So that's no good. Gladiator was good, but let down by the cinematography during the crappy choppy fight scenes. Hmmm.. I didn't see much last year - I couldn't say. Sorry.

3.)What musical artist or group has had the most influence on you?

If I could pick Genre, I'd have to say SKA. If I narrowed it down to a group, I'd have to say The Specials. Has it had influence? Who knows, but it's my favourite type of music. Been listening to the old Smiths albums a lot, though.

4.)What would you say is the best music video you've ever seen?

Gotta agree with Grim (I think). Michael Jackson, whatever you may think of the guy, always has great film clips. Closely followed, of course, with Britney Spears bouncing around in a Catholic school girls outfit asking me to beat her one more time... Mmmm....

5.)What is the coolest line you've ever heard in a movie?

Ash, in Evil Dead three. "You see how that works". The scene is fantastic.

6.)What's the coolest song you've ever heard?

A Message to You, Rudy - by the Specials.

7.)Conversely, what is the worst movie you've ever seen?

Must we drudge the depths? Okay then. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes was pretty bad. Anything with Home Boys or "gangsta's". Unless they're getting shot or beaten to death! Yeah, eat me.

8.)What is your least favorite song?

Insert any Gangsta ©Rap, Generic Hip-Hop and Gay Boy Bands songs here.

9.)If you were forced to watch the TV show of your choosing for 24 hours, what would you choose?

Batman : Gotham Knights cartoon series. Or South Park. Or Gatchaman.

10.)What is the dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say?

"Shouldn't you be wearing an asbestos suit?". She was referring to the lack of padding worn during one of my harder Karate gradings. It's NOT the dumbest thing I've heard, but it's the first thing I thought of.

11.)What is the dumbest thing you've ever said?

Calling my girlfriend at the time my ex-girlfriend's name. A word to the lads out there - Don't do this!

12.)Who, in your opinion, is the best actor to grace the silver screen?

Kevin Spacey is fantastic. Ed Norton is fantastic. Robin Williams is fantastic. I don't know. Pick one...

13.)Same question, only who is the best actress?

I'm too biased by physical attraction. Couldn't say. Liv Tyler is pretty. Don't care if she can act or not...

14.)What do you think is the greatest album of all time?

I suppose that Beatles deserve some credit for Sergeant Pepper. The world first 32 track recording. But as for the greatest single album ever - The Cure, Standing on the Beach. No contest.

15.)Who would you like to see play you in a movie about your life?

What have I done in my life that's worth taling about? But since we'd be sensationalising - and there'd be ninjas - I'll say Brad Pitt. He's got abs like I used to... sigh

16.)Who would be on the soundtrack?

Lots of Ska and Rock and Roll. Definitely the Specials, The Smiths, The Cure, Big Sandy, and numerous other bands that start with "The".

17.)What is your single most favorite movie scene?

The end of Shawshank Redemption, from where Red walks through the fields to find the box Andy talked about fight through to where he finally reaches the boat at the beach. I usually shed a tear. THAT's friendship and hope. Oh, and just about any scene from Tanya Hydes Twisted Dreams

18.)What's in the CD player right now?

I have a 300 CD stacker, so I'll instead list the MP3 that's playing right now at work - Dawning of a New Era, by the Specials.

19.)What movie are you looking forward to the most?

Episode II. It's a morbid curiosity about whether it's finally time to admit that the Star Wars phenomenon was a fluke... Oh, that and Spiderman. And a good Batman movie...

And Finally...

20.)Who's the toughest man in Hollywood?

Joe Pesci. Watch Casino to see what I mean.

By 5thjames (5thjames) on Wednesday, April 18, 2001 - 09:57 pm:

1.)What would you say is your favorite movie of all time?
-- Without question "Star Wars", more specifically ANH. Beyond that it gets a bit blurry as to which is my favorite, but I'd prob'ly say "Blade Runner". That movie, along with SW, inspired me to seriously consider a hobby/career in movies.

2.)What would you say was the best movie of 2000?
-- Lemme remember what came out last year; it all tends to run together. (Has it really been two years since TPM???)
I'd say "Rules of Engagement" or "Castaway" or "Gladiator". Those three are really top-notch. Since you said 'best movie' and not 'movies', I'd say "Gladiator".

3.)What musical artist or group has had the most influence on you?
-- Only one?
Hmmm........
Well........
Maybe.......
Uh, maybe Enya. Or Van Halen. Or Vivaldi. Kinda hard to pick one.

4.)What would you say is the best music video you've ever seen?
-- Can't think of any that really left an impression. None, I guess.

5.)What is the coolest line you've ever heard in a movie?
-- Again, I can't really pick one. But here's a strong candidate:
"All these memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain...*pause*...time to die." That's Rutger Hauer's character right before he dies, in "Blade Runner". If haven't seen it you'd have to see it context to appreciate it.

Then there's Yodas "That is why you fail!" to Luke in ESB.

6.)What's the coolest song you've ever heard?
-- Argh! I can't pick just one! These questions are like "which is your favorite child?" You can't answer that. You're stessing me out, DB!

One of them may be Rush's "Camera Eye", off of Moving Pictures. It's unusual but it's sounds neat, I think. Another one would be "Going to California" by Led Zeppelin. Another would be Enya's "Cursum Perficio" off of Watermark.

7.)Conversely, what is the worst movie you've ever seen?
-- Oh man, this one's almost as tough as "Coolest Song". Near the top would be "Wing Commander", "Congo", and "Me, Myself, and Irene". Others would be "Instinct" (that one with Anthony Hopkins that came out last year, not sure if that's the title), "Armaggedon", and "Face Off". (I'm a very picky and frustrating person on what I like, with almost everything. I frustrate my friends too, so you guys aren't alone. )

8.)What is your least favorite song?
-- The one from "Titanic" by Celine Dion. She is a great singer but that song drove me bananas when it came out.

9.)If you were forced to watch the TV show of your choosing for 24 hours, what would you choose?
-- The old "Sledghammer" sit-com from the Eighties.

10.)What is the dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say?
-- "Yousa follow me now, okeday?"

11.)What is the dumbest thing you've ever said?
-- Oh gee, too many to count.
I couldn't explain it very well, but one example happened in an engineering class about seven or eight years ago. As usual, my mind is never on where I am, or where it should be; it's always over the horizon or somewhere else. Anyway, the prof explained something to us, and I only picked up on half of it, so I asked a really stupid question. Something about "what if there's a vacuum behind that wall?" when he was talking about a wall on the earth, not in space or anything like that. (You had to be there, but thankfully you weren't.) My friend next to me said something like, "I don't know this guy..."

12.)Who, in your opinion, is the best actor to grace the silver screen?
-- There are many good actors, and I can't point to one that's the best. Jimmy Stewart was pretty good. Michael Keaton is pretty good too, so I'll pick him.

13.)Same question, only who is the best actress?
-- Same problem as above. I won't even try.

14.)What do you think is the greatest album of all time?
-- Not a clue. "Who's Next?" by The Who, or "Empire" by Queensryche. Ask me again in ten minutes and I'll give you a different answer.

15.)Who would you like to see play you in a movie about your life?
-- Kevin Bacon.

16.)Who would be on the soundtrack?
-- Enya, and certainly the song "Here I go again" by Whitesnake. It was my theme song for years.

17.)What is your single most favorite movie scene?
-- Either the Duel of the Fates, the scene in ANH in Ol' Ben's house with Luke, or the battle between Vader and Luke in Bespin in ESB. Or possibly that scene in "Blade Runner". Or maybe even the scene in "Rules of Engagement" where Jackson's character goes back to get the flag while under heavy fire, and gives it to the abassador.

18.)What's in the CD player right now?
-- Enya's "A Day Without Rain".

19.)What movie are you looking forward to the most?
-- At last, a no-brainer: "Star Wars, Episode II"

And Finally...

20.)Who's the toughest man in Hollywood?
-- Tom Hanks.

On second thought, I'd more or less have to concur with Anthony and Bidlo on #13, though I actually do sorta care whether she can act decently.

Boys will be boys, what can I say.

By Soda, Soda, We've got Soda! (Bidlo_Kwerve) on Thursday, April 19, 2001 - 05:12 am:

Why did I not say Jimmy Stewart as a tough guy too? The man was a Brigadier General in the Army Air Corps!

And, to agree with Bun (at least 67%), Seinfeld or The Sopranos could be watched (and enjoyed) for a 24-hour period.
