Dark Encounter is a very good Fan Film. Looking for plot, characters, saber combat, computer animation? Well this has it all. This film takes place between Ep. 1 & II, and involves Obi-Wan-Kenobi. Effects aren't quite Industrial Light and Magic, but good, including an animated scene in Coruscant. This film is about 33 minutes long, so as you can imagine there is quite a bit of dialogue, and action, involving space battles, and a saber fight. The dialogue was well written, and flows nicely. It is a 146MB download, but well worth it, in my opinion. If you are a Star Wars fan, which you should be if you are at this site, than you should enjoy this film. The biggest thing when it comes to Fan Films that you have to get over, is the "amateur" nature of the films. Cheesy effects (which this movie has pretty good effects), bad acting, poor chorography, etc... If you can get over that, I think you can appreciate most Fan Films. But you won't have to act hard to get over anything in this film. I think it is nearly one of the best serious Fan Films I have seen. Definitely download it, 2 thumbs up! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif

You can download it at... Clhilly Winters Night Pictures (http://www.chillywintersnight.com/projects/film.aspx)

Anyone else see this film, and would like to add comments? Feel free.

146 MB? G'lord!

I may check it out when I get back to Atlanta, but . . . For that size, this sucker needs to be The Formula Reborn.

Ka' Leh Cim,
Please forgive my long absence, I have been switching over to a new PC, and haven't had time to get here for a while. Anyway, you need to get a download manager, I would recommend GetRight. Check out my "Where To Find FanFilms" topic, there is a link to GetRight's site in there. With that, you shouldn't have a problem downloading the film, over time of coarse. Best of Luck. Don't give up! Many good FanFilms take a great deal of patience to download, especially when you have a 56k modem like me. But overnight downloads, and GetRight make it seem better. It really is a nice program, that is simple to use, and a small download, you should definately get it.
